I told him that Dr. Sam came highly recommended by our moms' group and had all five-star reviews on Yelp, and he finally agreed to give it a try. "Why did the air suddenly get so thin?" he said on the way to the new office--he was that nervous because of the past experiences! But the moment he stepped into Dr. Sam's office, he immediately felt welcomed and more at ease. The soothing environment and the movie on the screen helped him relax right away. After a quick check-in, a very gentle hygienist (I'm so sorry I forgot her name!) greeted us with such warmth, gave us a little tour (first time I ever knew where the pediatric dental restroom is--no joke!), and chatted with my son to help him settle in. During the X-ray, she was incredibly patient and comforting--reassuring him that it would be quick and keeping him calm throughout. During the exam, Dr. Sam was thorough, attentive, and genuinely caring. She carefully checked all his teeth and gums, asked thoughtful questions about his dental history, and even noticed that his lips were very dry and swollen. She kindly reminded him not to lick them--a habit I've been trying to break for so long! I really appreciated her gentle guidance and the practical tips she shared to help his lips heal faster. I love the setup and the professional kid-friendly approach that the office and dentist use. Literally every single thing in the office and also the process is designed for the little child. I walked in, and there were developmentally appropriate toys for my two toddlers. The assistant cleaned the teeth of the little dinosaur before cleaning my two daughters. They let my daughters choose the color and the flavor of the toothpaste and the tools. They even have those little kids patterns on their tools. And they actually deep clean the children's teeth, and my daughters actually enjoyed the whole process, unlike the other pediatric dentist we went. read more

As soon as you walk into the office, it is so welcoming and kid friendly. I have a 3 year old at the moment so it's really hard to get him to stay still, let alone for a check up. BEST PEDIATRIC DENTIST EVER!!! I finally took my 2 year old to the dentist (and by myself bc hubby couldn't get time off) so I was sooooo nervous of him being scared snd crying. But we walked into a bright office with a big waiting area and lots of toys! My son immediately started playing and was starting to view this place as somewhere fun. When they called us back I noticed a tv on the ceiling. Amazing. The hygienist took her time to show my son every single tool she was going to use with him. She showed him what the felt like on his hand, and let him hold and experience it first hand as well. Then she explained to him what the tool does, and as a curious 2 year old, he listened so well and enjoyed it. When it was finally time for him to get his teeth cleaned, he sat back with his mouth wide open and had the best time! He laughed and smiled through it all. Phew. I loved that Mrs. Leo took the time to show our little one just what they planned to do. She went over each item and pretended to brush the teeth of the stuffed lion and alligator. Baby girl is only 14 months, but it definitely prepares the kiddos for the cleaning! Dr. Sam is awesome! I searched far and wide for a great pediatric Dental office that accepted medical. I did not want a place like Super Dentists. I wanted a calm place where my daughter could connect to the experience and learn about good oral hygiene. Dr. Sam and her team are amazing at catering to your child's unique personality. They have TVs with movies, kid friendly waiting room and let the kids practice brushing a big dinosaurs teeth before the exam. Also, they let my daughter use the equipment while explaining what each thing is for everytime we've been there so that she's not startled when a new tool enters her mouth. I appreciate this as my daughter can be overwhelmed easily. It's not an open office where they can be frightened or distracted by other kids reactions. They get their own CLEAN and private room with a TV on the ceiling. At the end they get a coin to put in a machine for a prize! I have lots of anxiety for myself when I visit the dentist so when it was time for Zoey to get work done I am so grateful that my husband was referred to Bright Pediatrics. Dr. Sam, Ms Leo, and Dr. Leo are FANTASTIC! First visit for Zoeys consult and cleaning went wonderful and my daughter is not the best patient. We had to do something different from where we were. It just wasn't working there for us and nothing against that office, but after a few visits I knew it wasn't the right fit anymore. The office is pristine! I had no worries about Covid here. Dr. Sam is the dentist, Ms Leo (assistant) and Dr. Leo is the anesthesiologist. And yes, we did go for sedation and you do not want to go anywhere else for this!!! The team work here is flawless. Everything was explained repeatedly without showing even a hint of irritation that I had so many questions. Every question I had was answered and my worries and anxiety over general anesthesia was over the top. Ms Leo took calls and texts before the actual appointment and I was texting and calling her for info for over a week since the decision was made to have her sedated. And everything went perfect. If it's not posted somewhere, Dr. Sam is a USC graduate and is board certified. I could go on and on about how amazing they are, but if you're reading this and still wondering if they will be a fit for you just STOP. You have to make an appointment with them and you will be impressed. Zoey's appointment was just this morning and I wanted to write this review as soon as I can because I'm just beyond impressed. I was not given a discount or anything like that to write this review and I'm not a relative. I'm just so relieved that her appointment went so well and she doesn't have the childhood memories I have of the dentist. Sedation dentistry for a nervous child is definitely the way to go. I've never experienced a great dentist in my life and to know that this is my kids dentist now is such an amazing feeling. We switched from the super dentist for a lot of reasons... all bad, unfortunately. This was our first visit here and I'm proud to say this is our forever dentist, I hope things stay the same and never have problems but for this visit me and my kids felt very welcomed. What really won me over was when I did my research is after reading information on their website and how they do well with 'special needs' children and how you can stay in the room with the kids if you want ( which I do ). I don't have kids with special needs but I do have a son that's traumatized by the dentist and screams and cries the whole time. He has tons of anxiety and he worries none stop and let me tell you, he was crying here (which I expected) but he didn't scream, he even was happy when we got in the car, I asked all my kids if they liked this dentist and they all were so excited to say YESSSSS! To me THATS what matters most, I loved how they scheduled all 4 of my kids at the same time, I loved how they didn't over book us like everywhere else, the staff was so very friendly and the dr explained everything to us in terms that we could understand. They have a kids movie playing in the waiting room, very clean, lot of natural light, and some toys for the kids to play. I'm the patient rooms, there's a good amount of space and a tv mounted to the ceilings so kids can watch while in the chair. My son gets very anxious when his face is getting touched, Dr. Sam is so good with him. Very patient, calming, and gentle. She does a great job of explaining what she is doing, what she recommends be done, and why they need to be done. We've had four visits to the office so far. I noticed the kid is really warming up more and more each time we come in. In fact, they have invited us to just come by and hangout! We had a wonderful experience today. My son is 4 and has had a hard time with Dentists in the past with being super nervous and throwing large tantrums because he was scared. Today the dental hygienist acclimated him and got him to take X-ray's by playing the "Freeze" game!
