I wouldn't even give this place one star. I worked there and the place is run horribly. You always have to spend your own money to buy simple supplies. The director, Paula, tries to pin the morning and afternoon staff against each other. She will tell the morning staff one thing and the afternoon staff another. To top it off, they do nothing with the aggressive kids. If your kids get hurt they don't care and then will proceed to tell you that how you feel is insignificant if you are upset about it. One of my coworkers got her nose broken by a child and they still continued to allow the child to attend. Most of the toys are broken or really worn out, the classrooms do not have the appropriate supplies, and the teachers are supposed to supply everything. read more

I love this day care. The teachers and staff are amazing. My daughter loves both teachers she has had. She is always coming home happy. She always has gifts, snacks, and a good attitude when she comes home. She has had a couple minors incidents with other children, but they are 3-4 years old. She has never had any major issues like bullying. I think they have a very secure facility. The administration and staff, teachers and helpers are all so nice and amazing. I would recommend this day care to anyone in the ringgold area. read more

I wouldn't even give this daycare one star if I could post without giving a star. This place hides behind the state on every issue and claims to be following guide line. NOT TRUE unless they're being visited by the state. They need unannounced visits so they're caught with a months worth of paperwork thrown all over the front desk or when they're feeding your children beans 2 or 3 time a week because beans are cheap. BEANS aren't digestible by humans because of an enzyme humans don't produce. Giving a small child that has problems with digestion to start with, any beans can cause SEVERE problems There are some employees that treat your child badly if you disagree with policy even with a doctors letter. There is seldom anyone at the desk to monitor who comes and leaves, meaning NO SECURITY. There is a code pad outside the door but a parent can come in with someone following, someone that is not supposed to be there. What happens if a teacher is not looking and a child is taken with no one to stop them? What if it's your child?? There are people supposedly watching your child but will allow your child to be bullied or victimized if they don't like the parent. Who wants someone working with any child that will behave in this manner?? Who wants to pick up their child to be instantly told how awful the parent of another child is or walk out of the class room to hear the same person telling someone how much they don't like you?? There are no cameras in this daycare so you go to pick up your child to see a bloody mouth or find giant lumps on their head. They do reports but only if it's convenient at the time and they claim a parent is always called when a child is hurt, that also IS NOT TRUE. A couple months back there was hand foot and mouth disease brought in and only a couple rooms were advised but the virus is extremely contagious and just walking to another room the virus can be taken on shoes to help spread to other small children not yet walking. There are rugs on the floors but everyone walks from room to room and outside bringing numerous bodily fluids in on their shoes and transferring the filth to the rugs where tiny children crawl and put their hands in their mouth or eyes. There is also the contamination from animal waste that carries worms, bacteria or virus. This filthy daycare needs to be condemmed and closed down permanently and the owners should never be allowed to own, operate, manage in any capacity, work in in any capacity or have any contact with children in a daycare center. An added warning,, Dishes and sippy cups are washed and rinsed in BLEACH. Chlorine is TOXIC and the cups aren't rinsed properly so you open the cup that you want to fill for the trip home and find water containing enough chlorine to have a strong odor and enough to take the color out of you jeans. Another issue with the chlorine is the fact that plastics absorb the chlorine that stays in your child's cups or bottles so you're feeding them POISON every time you use the items. All 3 of my children were placed with the Executive Director, Denise Loveless, as a "foster placement". Ms. Loveless had my children from October 8th, 2018 to November 20th, 2018 (43 days). In that time period, Ms. Loveless removed my youngest son Korvin from his Head Start Program and enrolled him into her facility, Bright Beginnings Academy. Korvin turned 3 on October 22nd, Ms. Loveless refused to let me see my son for his birthday and did not even acknowledge his birthday. Ms. Loveless eventually requested my children be removed from her home, because "I was asking too many questions". My children were caring for themselves for 43 days while in her care. My daughter dressed herself as well as dressing her younger 2 brothers, everyday. Ms. Loveless had been talked to by a DFCS Case Worker in regards to a report from my daughter that Ms. Loveless would "scream at them inches away from their faces", nothing stemmed from this report. I reported to the same caseworker, as well as her supervisor, that every time they would attend a court hearing they were filthy, wearing clothes several sizes too small and not weather appropriate (Jaiden, jersey gym shorts and a polo t shirt; Kylie, same outfit 3 separate court dates, a pink t shirt and size 6 pink shorts when she usually wears a size 8. Korvin; October 15th, Korvin attended court with a very predominate black eye, as well as crust around his eyes, mouth, and nose.) My children were not bathed the entire time they were with Ms. Loveless. I noticed the issue at a weekly visitation with my children, an employee with Family Menders was supervising (she is a mandated reporter and did not report any of this), my mother and my children's father were all present. Kylie asked if I would braid her hair, upon taking her hair down, I immediately noticed her hair had locked together into one big knot. Her hair was so badly matted together, it stayed up in a bun even after removing the hair tie from her hair. November 20th, 2018, my children were removed from Ms. Loveless and placed with both of my parents. I was allowed a 4 hour visit with my children for Thanksgiving. During this time, their father cut both Jaiden and Korvin's hair (though not as bad as Kylie's, both of the boys' hair were matted and knotted together as well, and we usually kept their hair cut anyways because that's how they liked it.). After the boys got their hair cut I was sitting with Korvin in my lap and noticed his entire scalp was moving... Upon closer inspection, I realized he was infested with lice. I immediately checked Jaiden's head and found the same thing. I then sat down in the floor with Kylie, took her hair down, and parted it down the middle as 4 FULL GROWN lice bugs scattered across the part. Overwhelmed with emotions, I called my parents to inform them of the situation. I have called the facility and reported this issue to Ms. Paula Helton, the Director at Bright Beginnings Academy. I have also called and reported this to the state as well, tho my children are now safe, Ms. Loveless had another foster child in her care, a little boy about 1 year old, this child was supposed to be adopted by Ms. Loveless. The state put this woman in a position to protect children, not to mention her employment as executive director at a daycare facility would make you think "your children are in good hands". This is not the case. This woman should be no where near children, and should definitely not be a "placement" for any child to be placed into that kind of environment. I understand children do get lice, things like that happen. However, my daughter and my two sons were not even bathed for 43 days while under her care. My daughter said the home they were in did not have running water, and they "were not allowed to flush the toilet". My daughter said she was actually "punished" because she forgot and accidentally flushed a toilet, Ms. Loveless's mother then yelled at my daughter and I'm not sure what "punishment" was given after that. I am not looking to hurt anyone, or destroy anyone's reputation, or anything remotely related to such. My children were illegally removed from my custody, and placed into Ms. Loveless's home (in words of DFCS) "because they needed to be protected from maltreatment." My children have never in their lives lived in nor had they even been exposed to such deplorable conditions. I feel as if this is on the hands of Ms. Loveless, as well as all of the employees at Bright Beginnings Academy, and the hands of all of the Catoosa County DFCS employees who had part in placing, not just my children, but placing ANY children with Ms. Loveless. read more

IF YOU TRULY LOVE YOUR CHILD, DO NOT EVEN REMOTELY CONSIDER SENDING THEM TO BRIGHT BEGINNINGS! I was absolutely appalled at how horribly the administration and staff handled a bullying issue with another child being aggressive toward my son. My son repeatedly told me that another child was hitting him and pouring dirt in his hair (the latter I saw firsthand when I picked him up and asked him why there was dirt in his hair, for two consecutive days and he told me who had done it) but I (foolishly) had faith that the teachers had dealt with the issues as this bully was almost always in time-out when I dropped my son off or picked him up (2-4 days a week). It was when we had come home from school, on Wednesday evening, that my son told me the other student had hit him (again). I decided that this had gone on long enough and resolved to discuss the issue with his teachers and the administration the next morning. That next morning, December 9, 2010, we got up, I told my son we were going to school. He used to be so excited about going and he used to love it! Today, he was beside himself. He broke down and began crying, saying that, ''...[the bully] would hit him.''' When we got to school, I voiced my concerns to his two morning teachers. They stated they'd never seen the bully hit my son, and that my son had never said anything about this to them but they agreed to keep a watchful eye. When I spoke to the administration, on my way out, they made excuses and actually defended the bully - even though I had also personally witnessed this bully hitting and shoving other children and told them as much; however, I was still iffy on what to do. It was when I picked my son up, that evening, and I spoke with his evening teachers, one of whom actually began arguing with me over my concerns, that I knew the only decision was to remove my son as it was obvious his safety, and my concerns for his well-being, were not a primary concern of the staff or administration. And, as if I needed further convincing, as his evening teachers and I were standing in his classroom, in the middle of our ''discussion,'' the bully walked up to another child, (who was listening to us, less than 6' away) and the bully proceeded to jump onto this child's back. The child fell to the ground, screaming in pain as the bully began pulling EXTREMELY hard on this innocent child's ear, and continued to do so until one of the teachers pulled them apart. I stated to the teacher, ''That's exactly what I'm talking about!'' The teachers did nothing to the bully except to say ''that was not nice,'' and I knew with certainty I needed to get my son away from this place. Today, December 13, 2010, I had the displeasure of speaking with the administration again. They began making accusations that my son was now lying, even after what I'd seen that past Thursday in conjunction with my witnessing this bully being physically abusive to other children throughout my son's attendance (well over 6 months). More than once, I'd even heard some of the teachers saying this bully was a discipline problem. However, now the administration began saying that my son HAD told his teachers about the bully hitting him but that the bully was with another teacher when my son claimed it was supposed to have happened, so they ''knew'' he was lying (as though a 2, about to turn 3, year old knows the difference between 1 minute ago and 1 hour ago). You may recall the teachers originally stated my son had never once said the bully had done anything to him before, and now they change their story? I would highly, highly recommend you not even remotely consider taking your child to this school. It is a veritable nightmare of mismanagement with an absolute lack of ability to provide your child with a safe, stable and nurturing learning environment. read more
