On the occasional morning when our toddler decides she does NOT want to go to school that day, I can usually hear her tears turn to laughter before I even leave the building. Separation anxiety is normal in small children, and the guides at Guidepost know what they're doing! We enjoy their frequent, clear communication as well as their hours, campus equipment, and the various specialty activities that they offer such as a yearly Saturday pool party or pajama days. If you're in the market for a daycare or preschool that will teach your child(ren) REAL life skills such as cleaning up after themselves as well as subjects such as math, science, and reading, Guidepost is the school for you.

I had 2 children enrolled for the past 2 years and have been blessed to interact with all the staff in the different programs from Nido to Childrens House. They are all absolutely wonderful, especially the Director Caroline and the Assistant Director Liza. Staff go out of their way to assist with difficult transitions and they even show up to birthday parties when invited! I was a sceptic of the Montessori based curriculum but after seeing my kids make huge progress, love learning and teaching us things they learned, and really THRIVE, I am an avid believer. This place is more than a childcare center, this is an extension of family/friends that I truly trust to care for my children. It has been an amazing experience.

All summer classes are held at Wee Lad, and our girls had wonderful experiences the past two summers. The school has a huge, fenced backyard playground, and the classes make excellent use of it, weather permitting. My older daughter now attends the pre-K during the regular school year, and has continued to take huge strides in early learning. The teachers keep the lessons fun. The staff and team work with families to offer schedules that seem to be more flexible than the other schools that I considered before choosing Wee Lad. The school has been excellent to work with in regards to food allergies and maintaining the safety of my child.

The owner Lisa is always available and helpful, the director Laurie always does a top notch job and the teachers are wonderful. All are caring and compassionate and have a real passion for early development and learning. Our kids have been very prepared for the rigorous private school they have gone into after graduation. We will miss Wee Lad and A Child's Garden and we shall always remember with fondness the good times and superb education my kids had there. One of the few things I recommend without reservation.

The Learning Tree Daycare has been an absolute blessing for our family. Both of my children…read moreattended - my daughter from ages 2 to 4 and my son from 1 to 2 - and I cannot recommend them enough. From day one, the teachers at Learning Tree made my somewhat shy child feel safe, loved, and encouraged. My daughter had a speech delay, and the patience, support, and encouragement she received there helped her so so much. They don't just focus on academics or rigid schedules; they teach kindness, social skills, and everyday life lessons that are just as important as ABCs and 123s at this stage. More than anything, the kids are genuinely *LOVED* - and that makes all the difference. As a working parent, I truly could not have had my career without the trust and peace of mind that Learning Tree provided. They are very reasonably priced, and the new (in 2025) owners and management of the building are just as wonderful as the teachers - professional, kind, and supportive. In 2025 they did a ton of renovations with all brand new floors, classroom toys & supplies, and a brand new outdoor playground with a new fence. Payment is simple and stress-free through their online portal, and the app they use makes communication effortless. Getting pictures and videos throughout the day was such a gift...it warmed my heart to see my kids smiling, playing, and learning in real time. They use a key fob system to enter the building and you have to go through multiple check-points, it is very safe. Before finding Learning Tree, we tried other daycare options in Annapolis that felt cold, too strict, and more like a prison for toddlers than a nurturing environment. Learning Tree was the complete opposite - warm, family-oriented, and rooted in decades of experience. The teachers are unmatched, which is why they've been trusted by families for over 30 years. At the end of the day, these are children - they don't need to learn rocket science, they need to feel LOVED, supported and SAFE. Special shoutouts to Miss Yolanda and Miss Dominique, who went above and beyond every single day. Their dedication, warmth, and love are the heart of the Learning Tree community. If you're looking for a daycare that understands what children need, and will genuinely take care of them as if they were their own - then The Learning Tree is it. I cannot recommend them enough!

The teachers greet our daughter by name each morning, and it's clear they truly care about each child as an individual. She's come home each day brimming with stories, songs, and new things she's learned--not to mention the adorable art projects we now have proudly displayed all over the house. Watching her blossom socially and emotionally in such a nurturing space has been so reassuring. She's made real friendships and grown in confidence, and I credit so much of that to the gentle, encouraging environment this preschool provides. Communication with the staff has been amazing too--thoughtful updates, photos, and genuine interest in how she's doing. It's one thing to know your child is safe... it's another to know she's truly happy. This place gives us that peace of mind every single day.

From the first day, we were welcomed by all teachers and staff. Our child struggled with sleeping in this new environment and being away from us. We were comforted by being able to through the live camera how attentive the teachers were to his needs. They held him when necessary, sang to him and comforted him until he got acclimated with the environment. Our child looks forward to going to school, learning new skills/things, playing with friends and being nurturing by his teachers.

Staff infighting and leadership pettiness ensures that The Young School's model will offer you a very expensive day care but not a pre-school that helps young minds grow, which is a shame because there are teachers at the school trying to make a difference. Secretive leadership that tells half-baked half-truths is not conducive to a positive environment and kills good teachers' motivation. Go anywhere else.
