RIP-OFF!! Please READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS of this business! I assume the positive ones are friends and family. Here is mine. Been quoted us $160.00 to "diagnose" our fridge ice maker. An older gentleman confirmed replacement: he offered to order one for us ($250.00) and install it. Also said that we should replace the door gasket (optional). He quoted us $280.00 for labor (I'm not sure if he factored in the gasket replacement, as the quote was very vague), for a total of $440.00 to replace the icemaker. We decided that we'd rather buy a new fridge. But first we looked up the icemaker online and found it on the manufacturer's website for $180.00. It took my husband 10 minutes to replace it. BEWARE!!!! $160 charge just to walk in your door. It is robbery especially when the appliance location is less than 1 mile from his store. I will not use Peter's services again. I have known Peter for over 25 years and he has serviced many of our appliances over the years (we have moved a lot, hence many appliances!). He has always been professional and got our machines up and going again quickly and I do not feel I have been overcharged. For those who complained about a call out fee - most professional repair people charge a call out fee on top of any repair they may do. Their time is not free. I respect the MOSTLY great reviews here...but I, personally, had a v bad experience. Our dishwasher was turning off after about 20 mins, leaving about a pail of water at the bottom. Error Code -25, Bosch. Pete, an affable person...very nice and friendly....did show up when we called him. But he just ran the dishwasher 4 times over, never waiting for the problem to show up. And left. I couldn't argue with that. but i texted him, after he left, that the dish isn't working still....Got no reply for 3 days. Then I called him....and explained everything. He said he'd lookup the problem on the internet and get back. I'd already scratched him off when he said about going to the internet. Has been 2 days since then, and no answer. Is a great person....maybe not someone i'd trust with my home appliances. read more

Older good quality gas stove with non-functioning oven. Prior repair person said it would mean taking it apart and was not worth repairing. Repair person (Mr. Bright) was courteous, punctual, and listened closely as I described the problem. He identified the problem efficiently and even had a replacement in his truck. Very happy. I have a sink top button switch for my garbage disposal that had broken. He came and diagnosed the problem and then chased down the most cost effective way to get the necessary parts. The button is in a very difficult spot between the back of the sink and the wall. He was diligent and was able to get the whole thing replaced in a short amount of time. I would absolutely call him again if I have another appliance repair need. read more

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS BUSINESS! I contacted Peter at Bright Appliance when our refrigerator started making loud rattling noises. He came over, diagnosed the problem, and ordered a part to repair the fridge. His visit was $160 (for 10 minutes of his time). After about a week, I hadn't heard back from Peter, so I called him to find out whether the part had been delivered yet. He told me the part was scheduled to be delivered on a specific date. That date came and went, and I still didn't hear back from him. I called Peter again and was told that the part still hadn't been delivered. He gave me a new date when the part was supposed to be delivered. That date came and went, and again I never heard back from Peter. This cycle continued for over 3 weeks. Over that 3-week span, I had to call Peter four or five separate times to check on the delivery date. Not once did he have the courtesy to proactively notify me whenever the delivery date had been delayed. In the meantime, our fridge was barely working, so I couldn't buy anything perishable. Finally the part was delivered, and he told me he would likely be able to stop by my home around 3pm that afternoon. He asked me to empty out the freezer in advance of his visit so that he could install the part (otherwise he was going to charge me for the labor of emptying out the freezer himself). So I emptied the freezer at 3pm. An hour later, as everything was starting to melt on my counter, Peter called and said he couldn't come over until the following day. He finally came to my home the next morning. When he arrived, I asked him to put on a pair of slip-over booties so that he wouldn't track dirt through the house. Mind you, I provided him with the booties. All it required him to do was lean down and slip the booties over his shoes. He grumbled and made it very clear he really didn't want to make the "effort" of putting on the booties, but he ultimately agreed to put them on. He installed the new fridge part and was gone in about 20 minutes. All told, between his initial visit, the cost of the fridge part, and the cost of labor, we paid him $428. By the following morning, the temperature in the fridge didn't feel any colder. We bought a thermometer for the fridge and it read 57 degrees (the temperature inside the fridge is supposed to be at least 40 degrees). Clearly he hadn't fixed the problem. I called him and left a voicemail message for him, indicating that he hadn't fixed my fridge, and that I was going to have to purchase a new fridge. I asked him to call me back, and I also asked him for a partial refund (even though he probably should have given us a full refund). It has been over one week since I left him that voicemail message, and I have still not heard back from him. What an absolute FRAUD. Under no circumstances should you trust this man with your appliances. For what it's worth, until now I have never been moved to write an online review. This is the first. read more

He told me I needed an expensive part then changed the part and it still did not work then he changed a inexpensive part and it worked but he charged me for both parts and labor....really he did the misdiagnosis on my dollar....I suggest you stay away and get some one else!!!! He came and looked at our dishwasher and told us what had to be replaced, then at end of a grueling three weeks of chasing him he refused to do the job claiming it's not worth our money!!! Peter Bright came to my very elderly Mother in Laws house March 2018 to repair the old dryer. He fixed the dryer in half an hour and charge was more than fair... Her care takers ( she is a shut in with 24 hr care) said they could not live more than a few days without a dryer and they were desperate. We didn't' think we could get a new one into the basement due to snow & location... the appliance company in Littleton was a 12 day wait to come. Mr Bright saved the day! read more

Unfortunately, my experience with Mr. Bright was nothing like these other reviews. I asked him to assess problems I was having with my washer and to clean the vents in my dryer. He insisted that my washing machine was recalled and didn't touch it and just cleaned the dryer vents and charged me $85. I checked with Sears and my washer was not recalled. I am back in the original position I was in but $85 lighter. He was also not friendly. Who needs that! I would not recommend using Bright Appliance but suggest either Hunter Appliance or go back to the manufacturer. read more

We had a stove thaat broke on a thursday and had a dinner party on Saturday even though he had no opening till monday he asked of we could take an evening call he stayed till 7 repared are stove and saved our dinner party. I had engaged Peter to service my freeze which he eventually didn't service. He took the money for the initial service call and didn't attend to my call to service the freeze. It was weeks worth of effort to chase him and in the end he ran away with the money. DON'T USE HIM. read more

I called Peter to help with the refrigerator as it was not cooling. He came in and without doing much diagnostics using the Multimeter to check the wires, check compressor for continuity, didnt ask whether there are any signs of frost, check if the fan is working, check thermostat, check timer etc, he concluded the issue is with the Freon and evaporator coils. Upon asking how he concluded the issue is with the Freon, evaporator coils, his answer was usually it resolves the issue and it will cost $800. Beware!!! read more

Peter Bright just left my house and I have nothing but good things to say. I had a simple appliance installation that, because of my old house turned into almost half a day of broken pipes, corroded valves, etc. Peter did a great job with the installation, went to buy additional materials, gave me washer hoses at not cost, and because the plumbing in the house made the job impossible to finish called a plumber for me and explained what needed to be done. I had a very bad experience with Peter at Bright Appliance. He charged $745.63 to "repair" a range and a fridge that ended up being a huge waste of money. The fridge was leaking water at its base. He said it was the icemaker (which I questioned at the time). He replaced it, but the water started leaking out again not long after his visit. He also replaced a control panel on the 10+ year old range that he charged around $300 for, and I ended up needing to buy a brand new range a year later (the "old" one died due to a failure of the "repaired" $300 control panel) and the entire NEW range cost $399.00! I would recommend staying away from this company. read more
