Extensive explanation of the process of the chimney inspection. Tom is very knowledgable and came with the right tools for the job. As he was performing the internal flue inspection with a camera he showed and explained what potential issues he looks for. 2. After Tom completed the cleaning, she show us all the flammable debris that was removed. Much more than I had expected. 3. Walking tarps were placed to ensure there would be no dirt tracked on the rugs and hardwood floors. In addition, Tom for slip-on "booties" worn while working on the house. 4. I also received a confirmation call from him the day before the service. 5. Function...My appointment was for 1:30PM...he was at the door a few minutes before. Calling back the original roof contractor and informing them of the leak they said I needed to replace the siding of the house in the area of the chimney chase at the tune of $4000!! I then began calling other various contractors for this repair and was told all kinds of BS, from having to rebuild the chimney chase, having to wait as they were too busy, too cold (it was December) and told to wait until spring, etc. It was a bad leak and causing damage to my home not to mention the stress caused on me being at the mercy of contractors. So... I kept on searching contractors and came across Up On The Roof Chimney Sweep during I'm sure their busiest time of the year like everyone else's. However Up On The Roof Chimney Sweep promptly returned my call, took my information, promptly came to measure the chimney chase and came back with a reasonable price and did not take advantage of my situation! I scheduled the job with Up On The Roof Chimney Sweep and could not be happier with the quick prompt service and results that were received! It has been a full 2 months with some heavy gusty rains and no leak so this job was given the test of time! There is barely any worse feeling than being at the mercy of contractors when you have a situation that needs to be correctly fixed in a timely matter and not at a contractor's convenience. Up On The Roof Chimney Sweep not only fixed my chimney leak but relieved the awful stress on me from the start with their integrity, price, answering all my questions, and all the way to the finish product which looks great too! I highly recommend Up On The Roof Chimney Sweep and will definitely use again!!

Yes, very good guy. He did an excellent job with my fireplace. Resonable prices also.read more

Oh my goodness we had the most amazing experience and super highly recommend Touched By God…read moreCarpenters, LLC! From the incredible quality of the work with the highest level of professionalism, skill, timeliness, and resourcefulness, to their detailed eye for leaving no detail untended to and coming up with custom solutions that are beautiful as well as economical. They are the ABSOLUTE BEST you could hope to hire. Clean and neat in everything they do. They came in and installed an octagonal in my foyer ceiling for me last year that is magnificent! I mean they do ridiculously GORGEOUS TRIM WORK that I can personally say is STUNNING as well as elegant. This year they repaired a staircase that was never finished by another carpenter and who no one would repair for me with missing and broken pieces and then they sanded it BY HAND! with a vacuum in the other hand! My staircase looks amazing. They also refaced my old builder stock kitchen and bathroom cabinets which gives them a custom, contemporary feel. Pulled out my horribly dated and plain old ugly floor baseboards made of tile and replaced with new baseboards matching the rest of my home. With their unbelievable eye for detail they also installed my hickory hardwood planks on the outside of my large island and it's so striking I just want to spend my day looking at it!!! I mean seriously, if you need anything, this team can do it and make it seem like it's an easy task. It's clean and quiet in my house and they are doing mini renovations in 3 bathrooms and the kitchen. I can't say enough about Touched By God Carpenters. You couldn't be in better hands for whatever your project. I recommend them to the moon!!!!! I would trust them to do anything!

I wanted to support a local business and had naïvely felt that they would stand behind what they sold so I did not mind paying the extra money. I would have been way better off buying it on Amazon or another site online! I already had the gas line so I just needed to replace the old log set. First of all, when my wife picked it up you must sign a waiver that says you have a total of 24 hours to inspect everything. Then they have a clause in the waiver that states it may need "FINE" tuning. They also claim they do not do the installation and support they have contractors that do it, but their website clearly states they do installs and service. I installed the unit and it would run for a minute and turn off. I went to the manufactures website and found out you cannot contact them or get support; you must contact the dealer you bought it from. I called to find out how to get it fixed under warranty. Now even though the website is covered with service and support options I was told they don't do the service or support I needed to call their contractor and schedule a service call. When you call the contractor it sends you back to Albers to schedule the service call ?????? Oh, and that is $300. The tech came out and found out the thermocouple was not near the pilot light, and he needed to take it all apart then move the pilot light and the thermocouple, so they got next to each other and aligned. I have a checkout sheet with the unit that states who built it and tested it, it all says it was all tested and passed. So, I called back again to see how I could get credit for the fixing the manufactures defect. I was now told that since they did not have to replace any parts it was not a manufactures defect in workmanship it was a "FINE TUNING" and therefore it was not covered, and I had to pay the $300 myself. So, I should not expect to pay over $2000 for a gas log set and then expect it to work out of the box. Imagine if you bought a fancy gas stove and one of the burns did not light so you called Maytag and they fixed it and handed you a bill for $300 tow day safter you bought it. Albers sees no problem with this. If I had just bought it from Amazon or another online vendor I could have packed it up and got another one that was manufactured correctly. Instead, it cost me extra to by it and then $300 extra to get it to work.

In reality its 2.5 out of…read more5 stars but I can only give 2 or 3 and since 3 is rated "A-OK" I will say its basically "ok". Read below for the details if interested. Nothing shady about this place, etc. from what I can tell.... but basically what it comes down to is bad (not poor) customer service that needs improvement. They did however deliver a quality product. My experience: Recently used them for a fireplace gas cleaning. It took multiple attempts to reach their customer service department who, frankly, wasnt very efficient in responding to my call, but was very quick to just book the service and provide details of what is involved in regular maintenance. I was at least pleased to get the impression they knew what they were doing and maybe the individual scheduling appointments was just having a hectic / busy day. At service, the technician arrived, cleaned the fireplace, and in general, did a very nice job. Thumbs up. However after he left (which was probably a little too quickly to try and run out the door before ensuring it fully works), we noticed a problem in that something electrical went wrong that had never happenned before (because our power had gone out and a circuit blew). We called to address the issue and it "needed to be discussed" before they would talk to us about it, The resolution was to send the technician back out. I however did not like the fact that we were initially dealing with a sales men who tried to blame us for doing something wrong when we were just calling for a regular maintenace checkup and after the checkup the fireplace didnt work (whereas it worked perfectly fine prior to the servicing). We should have been dealing with the service department, store manager, etc. Technician came back out, was once again very professional, looked things over and concluded there was definitely something wrong electrically but he wasnt sure what and that an electrician would have to review it. So back to calling the home office. After some more debate, they agreed to send an electrician out to review. Electrician did an excellent job, figured out that something went wrong (clearly after the maintenace but didnt say why/how), and promptly fixed it. Thumbs up to the electrician. However then they tried to charge us for the service after having previously agreed that they wouldn't unless major work was needed. In the end though they held to their end of the bargain... just it wasnt a very pleasant experience... but we do realize that sometimes mistakes happen and hopefully that was just the case in the first technician doing something accidentally that caused a problem. At least now everything works and is back to normal. Its unfortunate they had to make 3 service calls but because they did (and despite the bad customer service), next time we have a problem or require service I will still give them an opportunity to earn more of our business. This could work out for them in the end anyway because we are considering changing the fireplace mantle, stone, etc. and I really know of no other place to go than East Coast.
