They are currently doing upgrades to the campground but it does not interfere with any of the sites your camping in. WiFi is actually pretty fast which is not often for campgrounds. The office staff is very on top of things and extremely helpful. The sites are gravel but level for the most part. We had a pull through and the sites near us were also pull throughs. Close to stores and the view was pretty nice as well! We have a 36' rv and had no problems parking or getting out.

    Having fun at the KOA

This KOA is beautifully maintained. The sites are generous with old fashion wooden swings, gas grills and fire rings at each site. The staff are friendly and extremely helpful. The restrooms were spotless. I highly recommend this stop

Can we say, dump? Complete with flies...

KOA should be ashamed to put their name on this campground. The campsites are in a poor state with divots everywhere. The ground is uneven and RVs are expected to double up in their spaces. Good luck turning an RV of any size on these roads. The rules were emphasized over and over. Bathrooms are a health hazards in the making. Filth everywhere, mold and dated design. They supposedly have an ice cream social but who would want to eat ice cream with all these flies? Do yourself a favor and bypass Brigham City/Perry KOA.

The site was long and large pull through.

Although the original Jupiter and No. 119 locomotives were scrapped long ago, the replicas built in the 1970s are impressive. The replica locomotives are brightly painted, beautifully detailed, and a highlight of the park. The museum's exhibits do a great job explaining the engineering challenges, cultural impact, and enormous effort involved in connecting the United States by railroad. When you stand outside in this remote, rugged landscape, it underscores how difficult building this railroad must have been. Overall, Golden Spike National Historical Park is an educational and memorable stop for history enthusiasts, families, or anyone exploring northern Utah.

This spot is located within 90 minutes of downtown Salt Lake City, to the northwest. Once you get off I-15 and travel about 5 miles, there is basically nothing more along the route for the next 10 - 15 miles until you reach this site. They have a visitors' center with the standard features - park rangers, a short introductory film, a gift shop, restrooms, etc. I don't know how much it costs as we were there with a couple who got free entry for our party. I'm sure you can look on the website for this info. Beyond the visitors' center is the site itself, along with 2 locomotives. What I did not know was that on the anniversary of the original ceremony (sometime in May) and on Saturdays during 'the summer', they do reenactments of the original festivities. I think they do this twice on Saturdays. We happened to be there for the 1 p.m. 'show'. They have some people dressed up in period costumes and invite some of the kids from the audience to put on light 'cowboy attire' as well to help out. They then fire up both engines and back them up and bring them back to the original position. It was interesting to seem them running. At the end, they invite anyone in the crowd who is interested to pose for a replica photo of the original one from the ceremony. The National Park Service then posts this on their website a few days later. If you like history and don't mind the drive, this is a fun side trip. I'd definitely recommend looking up the times and visiting on a day when they are running the locomotives. The closest place with a lot of choices for eating (other than just fast food) is probably Ogden, which is just under an hour away.

Doesn't hurt to ask, right? So I called and said we were thinking about reserving a night there, but wanted to check if they had any available places for short-term storage afterwards, as we would be staying elsewhere for the next 3 nights. Woman on phone, very rudely: "Do you mean you don't want to stay here with us at all but you want to store your trailer here?" Me: "No" (repeated the same info as before). Woman, very curtly: "So we need to get you registered for a night then." Me, a little more warily: "Well we're considering it, but I just wanted to check about any available storage options you may have." Woman: "No, if you pay for a site, then you can store it here." Clearly, just asking a simple yes or no question was very harmful (to them) and their rude and hurtful reaction means that they are not interested in our business at all. A simple, kind, " No, I'm sorry we don't offer that" would have been lovely. Management may want to speak to the people who answer the phone, and re-teach what respectful interactions look like.
