Briggs provided multiple estimates to give us options for repairing or replacing our driveway. We chose to replace the driveway. The removal was more work than they expected but they stuck to their estimate. We had specific grading requirements which they discussed with us before the new driveway was installed and they met our requirements. Installation was noisy due to the heavy machinery but we are very satisfied with the results. The installation was expensive but it was well done and should last for decades. read more

We recently hired Briggs for sealcoating my driveway, and the experience has been nothing short of a disaster. I'm writing this review to share my disappointment and frustration with their service. First and foremost, the sealcoating applied didn't stand a chance against the rainfall that happened a few days after the project was finished. All the sealcoating on the lower part of the driveway was washed away, leaving the driveway vulnerable to further damage. When we blew off some leaves from the driveway using a handheld leaf blower it also blew flakes off of the sealcoat from the top of the driveway. This is unacceptable! We expected a durable and long-lasting sealcoating, not something that can't even withstand the force of rain or a leaf blower. When the sealcoating flaked off, it revealed a dirty driveway. We don't think they properly prepped the driveway. Looks like the coated over dirt. They promised to send an estimator to assess the situation and implied that there would be an extra charge for re-coating it properly. WHAT!? What's more frustrating is the lack of updates from the company. We've sent emails, text messages, and followed up with phone calls but have not heard back about how they are going to rectify their mistake. It's extremely unprofessional to leave a customer hanging, especially when they are dissatisfied with the service. I would strongly advise anyone considering Briggs for sealcoating services to think twice. The lack of quality in their work, coupled with poor communication, makes them a company to avoid at all costs. When they say "We pave driveways like highways", it is true. After five years, our driveway looks as good as when it was installed. They put down a solid base, two layers of asphalt using a paver, and then rolled it. We have had Briggs Paving seal the driveway every other year to keep it the surface looking nice and prevent premature weathering. They carefully prep the driveway before applying the sealer and then are meticulous about finishing it. read more

My experience with Briggs was an exercise in extreme frustration. As stated by a reviewer below, they are above answering or returning your phone calls, and virtually impossible to get ahold of, unless its to their benefit. I made the huge mistake of paying beforehand. Then afterwards, I had a question about the drying time (sealcoat). Why did I think someone would actually call me back? Such arrogancy, and will never, ever, ever do business with them again period. I would only recommend them if you enjoy being ignored. Apparently they have better things to do than communicate with customers. Very poor business practices. PS I tried to dump them and go with a different company, but that's the only thing they were aggressive about, keeping the money and job. Should have gone with my gut and other company. read more

Your first point of contact when calling this company is a girl that seems like not only does she hate her job but also hates you for calling. She's rude and unprofessional. Forget the service, why would anyone spend money to be treated like your a problem from the beginning of dealing with them. No thanks!! I had Briggs do a new driveway for me 5 years ago. They did an excellent job. But we did have some issues. Dave Briggs stepped up and did the right thing to resolve the issue to my satisfaction. This year it is time to seal the driveway. I immediately went to Briggs. Based on my last experience with me. Well, this experience has been like night and day. Three times I scheduled the sealing and three times they did not show up. Only this last time did I get a call telling me that they were not meeting their commitment for the morning appointment because the office did not tell them in the field. The two previous no shows they did not even call. I have to call to find out what was going on. So three day i sat around waiting for them and they never showed. Of course they had all kinds of lame excuses. But bottom line it is not the same company I dealt with five years ago. There business process is totally out of control. If you want really poor customer service then this is the paving company for you. Not only do they not return calls when left in their voicemail they also do not honor their quote. After having their expert come out and do an estimate to crack fill and sealcoat I waited for Briggs to schedule my job. One week after signing the quote no word from them. So I called and received a call two days later scheduling my job. I live on a busy road so I made arrangements to move my three cars to safe locations. I went to work and returned late that day only to see the driveway the way I left it. I called their customer service immediately and was told the estimate was no good because the crack fill was going to be more than the quote. I asked them why no one called me on my cell as I would have ok'd an increase or at least dropped the crack fill and just had the sealcoat done. Their reply was uhhhh I guess we should have called you. I then told the rep to just schedule me for sealcoat. Its now 10 days and I have still not heard from them. The lesson here, there are a thousand paving companies out there, I would advise you to seek out one of them. Briggs does not deserve your hard earned money. BTW I already called another company who has successfully sealed my crack and sealcoated my driveway and did an excellent job. Avoid these guys read more

They installed my driveway in 2010 and pitched it wrong so that every time it rained water would flood my garage. I called them back several times before they finally came back and tried to fix the problem by heating up the driveway and tamping it down, which did absolutely nothing! After that they just stopped returning my calls. So $5000 dollars later the problem is finally fixed but not by them! Good luck getting them to come back after your check is cashed. Save yourself the nightmare and call someone else to install your driveway! read more

This past June Briggs resurfaced my driveway( 100ft long) which raised the height of the driveway by approximately 2 inches. Had to raise the height of the lawn on both sides to compensate for the extra height. Briggs did an excellent job on the driveway but terrible job on the lawn. Briggs sales person told us they would use good, screened topsoil and grass seeds to produce a good lawn. He factored this into the price for the job and we paid for this. Instead Briggs used poor quality dirt loaded with stones and some pieces of glass . I reseeded the areas twice but still have many bare spots where grass will not grow, plenty of weeds and loads of crabgrass. I have hired a landscape person to redo the lawn area starting with removing the soil Briggs provided and replacing it with good screened top soil. This is very expensive and frustrating especially since I see it daily when pulling out of my driveway read more

Used them for years. Used to be good. Receptionist (Tanya) is useless. Scheduled a driveway resealing for a specific week I was set to be out of town. Provided a contact phone number to be reached at. Advised repeatedly work needed to be completed Mon-Fri. Was told not a problem. Had not showed up by Friday. Finally came Saturday (day before I was due to return) when I called to inquire about the no show. Receptionist lied, (said I was unreachable), made excuses, (said there was bad weather, it was sunny all week). Never let me speak to a supervisor, (said she was in charge but mentioned people "above her") No response to emails from bosses above her. She had assured me it was safe to drive on my driveway Sunday afternoon after being sealed Saturday morning. I have fresh tire marks on my driveway. Tanya said someone would respond to look at it & reschedule. Have gotten ZERO response. Never will use them again. The receptionist is incompetent and a stone wall you can't get past. Several people I know have had the same problem with this same representative. Never again. She's going to destroy the whole business. Shame. Used to be highly regarded. read more
