My experience with Dr. Romello's office was extremely disappointing…read more At my four-week follow-up appointment after completing physical therapy and an initial course of prednisone and anti-inflammatory medication for a back injury, Dr. Romello seemed to be in a tremendous rush. The visit felt rushed from start to finish, and he left the exam room almost immediately. He prescribed Lyrica and instructed me to ignore the directions on the prescription bottle and instead follow his verbal instructions--but he never actually gave me those instructions. I was also told that the next step would be submitting an MRI request to my insurance company for prior authorization. The following day, I received a call from Georgia, who handles insurance authorizations, telling me that my MRI had been denied because I needed to complete six weeks of physical therapy. When I asked what the insurance company specifically required, she said she didn't know and that it was up to the physical therapist. Wanting clarification, I contacted my insurance company directly. They informed me that they had never received an MRI authorization request from the doctor's office. While I was on the phone, they contacted the office, which confirmed that no request had been submitted and that the six-week physical therapy requirement was actually the office's policy--not an insurance denial as I had been told. I immediately left Georgia a voicemail. She returned my call at 7:45 a.m., which I felt was an inappropriate time, and stated that the authorization had been submitted and was pending. When I called her back, she repeatedly interrupted me, insisted I was wrong, and again claimed the authorization was still pending and would likely be denied. By that point, however, my insurance company had already called to inform me that the MRI had been approved. To make matters worse, when the authorization was finally submitted, it listed the wrong imaging facility--even though I had told the office twice which facility I wanted to use. This was yet another example of the office not listening to the patient and failing to communicate accurately. In my opinion, the repeated miscommunication, conflicting information, failure to provide complete medication instructions, and lack of attention to important details created an experience that felt both dangerous and negligent. Patients rely on their healthcare providers to communicate accurately and coordinate their care. Instead, I was forced to verify information myself with my insurance company to determine what was actually happening. Patients dealing with painful injuries deserve clear communication, accurate information, and honesty throughout the treatment process. Unfortunately, that was not my experience.

The procedure that I am most thrilled with is called Via disc. It is 5 procedures of cadaver implants. I cannot say enough about this wonderful procedure. It takes 2-3 months for each implant to begin to work. It has been approximately 10 weeks since my first procedure & I am 70 percent improved. I would recommend this to anyone suffering with spinal pain. It is fabulous & well worth doing. Had little to np pain after each procedure, which lasted a day or 2. TRY It!

I have heard horror stories about back surgeries making things worse (which is why I let the issue persist as long as it has.) Thanks to Dr. Jasper and taking the process one step at a time we have accomplished pain reduction and continue to work on the issues causing numbness, etc. I like that he takes his time explaining procedures and I love the fact that he doesn't jump in with both feet and perform deep, painful, long recovery surgeries. I like that we try this and see how we do and then pinpoint what else can be done. I truly believe Dr. Jasper wants to see his patients out of pain. You may take my post as "he is dragging things out" but I see it as let's not go crazy and put you through tremendous pain only to find out we have to do something more on the other end. I had Shore Orthopedic Group work on me, but too young for rods/bolts, had several failed epidurals. Years of Agony and tried all conservative methods but left with horrible sciatica pain. Dr Rosenblum, very professional and knowledgeable predicted a 2 week recovery post surgery but it was 5 months of PT and I even had to relearn to walk. However; that sciatica pain has not returned in 4 years!! The hospital staff acted on best behavior too when you mention Dr Rosenblum's name. They give him respect. However, I needed a second procedure in another area of the body after I left New Jersey. Dr. Glasser actually called me in Florida to check on me two months post procedure. No doctor does that!. It was bad enough (the pain,) that I could not fly to see her as I had planned and I had to rely upon a doctor in Delray Beach. While the doctor did the procedure--I had issues derived from the treatment. I decided that I wanted to wait to see Doctor Glasser in New Jersey--the most wonderful professional I have ever encountered-- rather than go back to the treating profession or another in Florida. I am scheduled to see her first week of June. To have this level of confidence in a physician with a painful issue--tells you the caliber of this wonderful person. Whatever she tells me when she sees me, she will be a sight for sore eyes. No one has ever cared this much.
