Always great care with Dr Friedel !!! He is the best ! My injections never hurt. I always get relief from them

I was scheduled to have a surgery on 9/8 and the doctor's staff forgot to submit paperwork. The doctor blamed insurance and even mentioned Luigi Mangione in his gaslighting attempts. After a month delay I had the surgery and it was not successful. After I informed him the surgery was unsuccessful he initially refused to see me and then called the cops on me when I repeatedly reached out for follow up care. To make matters worse he initially refused to fill out disability paperwork which has caused financial difficulties. After he delayed my surgery, failed the surgery he had the audacity to tell me that the torture he put me through was also rough on him. I was told that because of the errors made that several people were fired. A new CEO was put in place and he called me and told me that the doctor would give me $5,000 for the troubles they put me through. I told them it wasn't enough and he refused communication after that. I hope he never does this to another person. read more

I had a bad surgery result with Dr. Bloomstein. Months after his surgery on my foot it became painful and so another MRI was done. The report from the radiologist stated problems with the tendons. Dr. Bloomstein dismissed these findings and told me not to have reconstruction surgery and so I trusted him. That was my mistake to listen to him. After a few months, the pain became unbearable and I found another surgeon who fixed the problem. read more

nursing staff was great. However, I cannot begin to even describe the level of chaos under which this office operates. Dr. Bauernfeind made me start PT before getting a pain injection for a TORN ROTATOR CUFF which I did and now cannot move my arm at all. all he said I could take was Tylenol. I show up to my appt this morning and as I waited an hour past my appointment time, the nurse tells me the doc left!!!! so now I have to wait until weds and they refused to call in anything for pain to hold me over. Satists. SICK that this is a PAIN MGMT doctor that seems to think it's ok to ignore his patients. DONT GO TO THIS QUACK DOCTOR. read more

Unacceptable wait times. I had a 2pm appt. They called around noon and asked to move it to 330pm, and I agreed. They moved the appt to suit their schedule and still when I arrived on time, I waited 1 full hour before leaving. I simply told them it was not okay to wait this long past the appointment and I had to leave. They asked if I wanted to reschedule and I declined, pretty easy to go somewhere that shows respect for their patients. The appt was with Dr. Bakhos. read more

I was a little worried with the reviews but Dr Freidel and staff were WONDERFUL. My only complaint is that I had to go upstairs (with elevator) and downstairs several time but to be FAIR....they did ask if I needed a wheelchair and stupid me declined. This is the first Doctors visit I was brought in at my set Appointment time. Was taken to the X-rays department. Then I was seated in a room waited for my Dr Bloomstein. Over all experience was better than I expected. If u a new patient give ur self 30 mins to fill out the paperwork. read more

I had an visit with this office 9 days ago. They took an x-ray and a short exam concluding that an image was needed. Doctor told me that authorization was required and takes a couple of days to get. (mind you I have TOP SHELF insurance). I thanked him for his time, decline the offer of pain meds(I don't trust Pharma), and was told one of the staff should be calling in a few days to help me schedule an imaging appt. I called back Monday of the following week (5 calendar days later), and one of the staff told me that its more like a week for authorizations, but was nice enough to let me know that the authorization was sent out immediately following my visit, but after looking further she said no auth had been returned from my ins provider. I thank her, and called back later that week.(9 days after office visit). The individual I spoke with was very understanding and offered to check the status of my auth. She regrettably informed me that the auth had not been returned as of yet by my ins provider. Now I am PISSED! I call Blue Cross and LET THEM HAVE IT! Kind enough to here out my frustration having been in great pain for the past nine days, with an acute amount of sleep depravation. Anyone who has had an major pain knows you can't sleep. Blue told me that there were 0 (ZERO) requests for imaging sent for me. With blue cross on the line we had a three way conversation with the Place that likes to think they help sick people, and they pointed the finger at university radiology. My question is what the HELL were the two office staff checking for me when they said they haven't gotten an answer back from my ins company? I am not a smart man, but I guess they were checking the status of an imaging request that they NEVER sent! I can't believe I payed money for this service. I will be contacting a consumer fraud attorney and sharing my experience everywhere possible! Your negligence was not appreciated!!! read more

4 days ago I've been many places, and I must say, the level of customer service that Orthocenter in Red Bank, offered was exemplary. The front and center service desk made you feel welcomed, like a human being and not just a number with a body attached to it. (it made up for the encyclopedia of paperwork that had to be filled out). Prior to seeing Dr. Bakhos, a host of other people got involved with me, who were just as down to earth and professional. Dr. Nader Bakhos is very customer-centric, himself . He did not talk above me in a language I did not understand. He did not rush my visit. I received options to think about and guidelines to follow before rushing into any invasive procedures. Thank you all for being so kind and involved with your patient. read more

A bad fall resulted in a broken ankle and dislocation but two and a half months later I am walking without support and my surgeon, Dr. Larry Bloomstein, has been quite genius in inserting a plate and pins through three incisions which have nearly vanished. Being able to walk and not having scars after a compound fracture at age 68 is nothing short of miraculous. I highly recommend him and the facility! read more

If you can get passed the waiting room (45 minutes to an hour, in no apparent rhyme or reason), I suppose the physicians are ok.

Upon entering Orthopaedic Sports Medicine & Rehabilitation I was surprised to find the waiting room quite crowded . After speaking with some of the patients i found out some of them had been kept waiting well over an hour . Not a good sign at all ! My issue was a knee injury sustained from playing basketball. I was given a cortisone shot and told to give it a few days . ( they took x-rays but said nothing serious was found ) . It was funny that the doctor gave me a shot that was not near the pain i was having . When i asked him about that he just said the shot covered a broader area . After two weeks of discomfort I went back and requested another cortisone shot and this time i asked him to give it to me directly where the pain was the worst . Apparently the doctor had a problem with my request because he suggested that i go somewhere else after he gave the shot to me . Funny because i certainly did not have a dispute with the doctor . It was more like he did not have time for what he perceived as my telling him where my problem was as me telling him how to do his job . Could not have been further from the truth but OK so the doctor basically fired the patient ! I then went to another Doctor (Dr. Cunningham ) in the area who specializes in knee injuries and am getting good services . I then receive a bill for 100.00 charge in addition to the 700.00 plus they received from my insurance company for my two visits ( unbelievable as I was with a doctor for less than 30 minutes total !) The moral of the story is "beware " of groups of doctors that practice together . Especially a group like Orthopadeic Sports Medicine&Rehab Ctr on Oak Hill Rd, Red Bank ,NJ . Their goal is to try and run through as many patients as they can daily and make as much dailty as possible . Kind of like a "patient mill " Service is not really their specialty. Absolutely the kind of doctors group i wish to avoid ! End of story . read more

The doctors are good but the office's accounting is awful. This office has made multiple accounting mistakes in their favor in the 2 years my husband has used them. The office staff calls to harass us over their errors. The office turned us over to a collections agency twice - for their errors. They have threatened legal action for their own errors. Each time I provide proof of payment, they correct that particular error but find a new one. They have never apologized for their errors or for the harassment. i would not recommend this office to anyone! read more

I've seen a few Dr's at this office and they are wonderful. The office is busy. You can wait depending on which Dr you are seeing. Scheduling a surgery is easy. Scheduling for an injection or epidural is difficult. Paige doesn't seem to return calls and when she does it is very late in the day. Even her outgoing message for vm says "probably" The front office is quick to help. Overall, I would recommend. read more

The place is clean and comfortable. The staff is friendly and helpful. And, most importantly, the doctor took good care of me.

dr. bakhos left me completely numb from the knee down after a hip replacement. after two years i have regained some feeling but my foot is still completely numb. i am still unable to walk without some assistance on uneven terrain. i can no longer go into the city by myself as i am prone to falling. i will never be the same again. i am currently in my mid 50s so i still have some time left, however my quality of life has been severely altered. read more
