I also had balance issues and had suffered numerous falls. After undergoing the excellent training Balance provided I no longer need the wheelchair or walker I was using. I am now able to take walks with my wife and children using only a cane.My balance has improved so much I can walk around the house without the cane most days and and can't remember the last time I had a fall. The office staff, therapists, and doctors were all a pleasure and positive team to work with. I will always be thankful to them for improving my quality of life. I have been to many therapy centers before and Balance Is by far the best. I highly recommend Balance Rehabilitation. Thanks B.W. Martin

Everyone told me she'd never walk, speak or eat again. Having worked in this biz (administration, I'm not a therapist) I wasn't giving up unless the staff at Saddleback agreed with the rest. THEY DIDN'T. They took us in, they coordinated insurance for us because the prior facilities used all our benefits deceptively and within the first few weeks my mom made progress. She is eating, speaking, SINGING! She's on her way to walking, she can exercise and stand, needs to work on balance & strength but not bad for a massive stroke & being 80-years old. They are always on time, efficient with appointments, friendly. Their gym is equipped with better equipment than when I worked there, everything you need for every type of rehabilitation. A diversely trained staff, a mix of neuro therapists, ortho therapists, specialized Parkinson's therapy and group therapy. Vital-stim speech therapy (hard to find) the speech therapy has been phenomenal. It's a large, clean, well organized facility that will make sure every minute of your appointment is focused on YOU. I could go on & on, but you get the picture. I would definitely recommend this place, I would go here myself if/when needed.

I have been through the program and graduated in September 2016 and have been back many time as an alumni. The Key difference that stick out to me was how all the staff there are in recovery and work a good 12 step program them selves and they are truest passionate about there recovery and helping you find your own path. I moved from London, UK to attend this program and have been back and fourth a few times and I need to be grounded and I have access to the program any time I need it. This has to be the best program I have ever been to and they have a great success rate as almost of the successful people seem to move around the center and keep coming back to reconnect but primary to help others through their story giving other Hope that's key to recovery. They have me so much and my life back and I'm eternally grateful to them for that. Especially my family who have there done back. Garry has been a great Counciller to me and change the way I look at life now. Rodney has taught me humility and shown me how success can be possible through hard work and discipline as only though that routine we find our true freedom in life. I'm back in the UK now but will be back again to attend the lovely alumni program and meet all my 449 Family as now these strangers have become my support group as we all together can beat this disease and recover. I'm so grateful to all of them for there compassion and dedication to helping others recover and enjoy life again. My sober date is 23 May 2016 and I now have 7 months and 26 days, funny as I could not stay sober for an hour and at one point I had 8 years of good sobriety and feel like that time was not lost as I get that back daily. Thanking you ALL at 449 Recovery Vishal

The nurses in the stroke and cardiovascular unit there were exceptional--compassionate, attentive, and truly wonderful in every sense. Through a coworker, I learned that a family member of hers was already receiving acute physical therapy at Encompass, and she spoke so highly of the professionalism and the facility that I shared it with my siblings. Not sure if manifestation did its magic, but the very next day, Gina, the liaison, reached out to me to confirm our interest in moving forward with the referral. She was warm, thorough, and deeply reassuring, guiding us with clarity and kindness. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the environment: calm, organized, and thoughtfully designed, with each patient given the dignity of a private room. Gina had advised my mother to bring comfortable clothing and activewear, preparing her for the intensity of acute rehabilitation. The nursing staff met every expectation with grace and care. A heartfelt thank-you to Nurses Lupe, Daisy--whom my mother called her "my friend," a name they shared for each other--JP, Tiffany, May, and all the others whose names I may not have learned, but whose presence we felt deeply. The food and cleaning service crew were wonderful in maintaining a clean environment everyday and nutritious meals! My mom loved the food & it definitely provided her more insights on the importance of eating a variety of foods! I wasn't able to attend most occupational therapy sessions since they were held early in the morning before visiting hours at 8am, but I did have the chance to meet Peter and Cassidy. They were grounded, kind, and made my mother feel safe and at ease during her first shower in a week--a moment she described with profound gratitude, calling it "the best shower of my life." And finally, to our main case manager, Nhã Vũ and the physical therapy team Matt Lê, Kevin Lê, and the therapist with the earring who was described as "Kevin's student," (sorry I wasn't there to catch your name) ,Tâm & Christine- each of you left an enduring mark on her recovery. Even those I did not meet were spoken of repeatedly with admiration and warmth. My mother often recalls how one of you said you would care for her as you would your own mother and you did exactly that. There is something powerful in how she continues to remember these sessions. During home PT, she will sometimes pause mid-exercise, laugh to herself, and recount a story or moment from Encompass. Those memories have become part of her healing. We are especially grateful for the diversity within Encompass, and for the Vietnamese physical therapists who played such an important role in her comfort and motivation. Being able to communicate fully and be understood, I believe, made a meaningful difference in her recovery trajectory. She is not yet fully recovered, but she is undeniably on a strong path forward--built on a foundation of skilled care, encouragement, and human connection. On behalf of Cô Phương Lê and my siblings, we extend our deepest gratitude to the entire Encompass team. The level of care you provided was not only professional, but profoundly human.

I was not allowed to get out of bed unassisted, and the CNAs are so understaffed and do not clean the patients well. The doctor was nice and the staff was courteous, but their medication distributions was disorganized. I missed my dose the first day and was told the medication didn't come, but the next day, I was told they had it but they didn't tell the nurse. And the quality of the nurse was less than standard, she couldn't get a IV In, and she didn't wear gloves. After I was discharged, I was told I had c-diff, an infection I contracted from it and is hard to treat. What else can I say? Never again! It's a nightmare!

Gilbert and Maria are some of the most inspirational leaders I've ever met, and are clearly extremely devoted and passionate about the work that they do. It was magical, being both detoxifying and spiritual - I am definitely going to continue attending when I'm an alumni! A low light was the amount of time it takes to get medication in the morning and evening. It would consistently take anywhere from 10-30 min just to get meds - they definitely need to figure out a more efficient process. Overall, this place is awesome!

This 5 Star rating is mainly for Jasmin, our Case Manager at Palm Terrace. I would rate the…read morefacility itself 4 stars because it is not fancy but it is clean and the staff is hard working. The young lady at the front desk is very welcoming. She gave me a very nice impromptu tour when I had to find my Mom a facility in one day's notice. She has continued to be very friendly throughout my Mom's stay. Compared to the other facility I looked at, Palm Terrace was quieter and had a much calmer vibe. They are limited to therapy in which insurance permits, but if the patient can walk, they can have someone walk with them at various times. My Mom had clean bedding and was changed regularly. My Mom is very particular and only liked the PT named Michael. She said he was hands down the best. Now, if it weren't for Jasmin, I would have been much more overwhelmed in handling the arrangements for my Mom's care. Jasmin was an excellent communicator and advocate from Day 1 until the end. She set my expectations by educating me on what insurance will typically do, and what we will try to do, and always tried to prepare me for the next steps. She let me know when my Mom had a CT appointment, arranged a very reasonably priced private transport, got my Mom a boot, ordered her a wheelchair and walker, and even helped me get Doctor's signatures on legal documents so that I can facilitate the next steps in my Mom's care. She would respond to texts after hours, although I would never expect her to. In addition, I requested a noon discharge time and she accommodated that. She also requested Michael, my Mom's favorite PT, for her last day. Moral of the story is you only get so much with Medicare, so I would recommend Palm Terrance because they did what they could do to accommodate us and the facility was clean and non chaotic.

"Hey--you're wearing my pants!"…read more My father-in-law has been here many weeks, on two different occasions. Most of the staff are pleasant and helpful. Of course, there's a few sourpusses, but they are the exception. The young receptionist at the main entrance was exceptionally pleasant. On Christmas day, there was also a nice Registry assistant who helped clean up some water we had spilled. The facility has about 50 rooms, on two levels. There are large therapy rooms, several dining/activity rooms, and large shower rooms. They have designated shower days. The assistant helps the patient to the shower. This works well. To my surprise, there's also a hair salon. The day before christmas, the barber came up to my relative's room to give him a haircut. It was just okay, but a deal at $20. The rooms are okay--spartan and small, but also clean. Almost all the rooms are doubles, with the beds 3 feet apart, separated by a curtain. This seems okay to me. It appears that parking is a problem. The day that we visited, no nearby spaces were available--even handicap spaces. The day we visited, there were multiple doctor spaces available. I was tempted. Oh yeah, here's the pants story: A few items of clothing went missing. Not a huge deal, just a little annoying. We discovered one pair of pants on an elderly man on the elevator. Honestly, he was just confused. I guess I would be confused too if I found myself in someone else's pants. These things will happen. For what it's designed to be, this is a decent facility. Not luxurious by any means, but still a decent place to recover for a few weeks or a month.
