Something relaxing and comforting, especially for people who walk a lot or are on their feet all day. Your heels, arches, and the front of your feet are the areas that really need that nice pressure and attention. That's kind of the whole point. Unfortunately, the description of the foot massage was very different from what I actually received. And just for context, I'm definitely not new to massages. I've had foot massages in many different cities and countries throughout my travels, so I have a pretty good idea of what a foot massage is supposed to feel like. This was NOT a foot massage. I feel bad saying that because my masseuse was a very sweet lady, but she spent almost the entire time intensely pressing and poking my legs with her fingers. It genuinely hurt. I asked her to go easier, but I don't think she understood what I meant. She seemed to think I wanted less pressure overall, when really I was trying to explain that her fingers were literally poking the heck out of my leg bones. Meanwhile, my actual feet were barely touched. My heels? Not once. It was mostly constant rubbing and finger pressure on my legs, which was honestly the opposite of what I came in for. Unfortunately, it felt like a waste of money for me. I also didn't feel guilty about not tipping because my experience was genuinely uncomfortable and not at all what was advertised. I actually feel bad leaving this review because everyone was nice, and everything else about the place was great. I'm leaving this mainly as feedback for the business. Either the description of the service needs to be more accurate, or the massage therapists need to be trained so the service actually matches what's being advertised. After this experience, I personally wouldn't feel comfortable trying their other services because now I'd be wondering whether those descriptions match the actual service either. Sea Breeze Massage is located inside Salon Suites , near FedEx in RSM. When you walk in, you'll see a bunch of singular offices. Just walk straight and she's on the right side. Her door will be open and there will be a sign as well. Free parking is available in the shared lot. I told Kanlaya that I wanted medium pressure, and for the entire hour, the pressure was absolutely perfect. I got the Swedish massage for 1 hour and it cost $95, which is on par with other masseurs. Kanlaya is small, but mighty! She knows how to get into every nook and cranny and smooth out all of my knots. I felt so much better and completely relaxed after my session. Not only is Kanlaya an experienced masseur, but she is also very calm, sweet and kind. She welcomed me with her warm smile and only spoke when I asked her questions. Many masseurs talk to you throughout the session, but she created a very calm and relaxing environment. I can't tell you how excited I am to have found her. Very friendly and very accommodating where they can be. They book quickly on the weekends! Very highly demanded. When there are no appointments expected, they leave the front office to work on rooms that were just used. Eg, placing them for washing machine, dryer, refreshing, cutting slices of pineapple, refilling, etc. The massage is always GREAT! I usually do a 120 or 90 minute but just now, finished a 45 minute. I wondered how they could finish me in 45. I have no expectations anymore, she was very thorough and stretched me so well in just 45 minutes. At the end of service, stay for a slice of cut pineapple and hot tea (or water). They use the prettiest plates and cups. They take both credit and cash and give you stamp cards ! Long story short, I labored at home starting at 6am, got to triage at 1pm (5cm dilated 80% effaced), got to our room at 2pm, and our baby was here by 4:08pm! Because I was SO SO terrified of the epidural needle, catheter, and the whole epidural process, my birth preference from the first trimester was to not get it. Truly believe this was not possible without all the skills and tips I learned from Bree's Hypnobirthing course, Spinning Babies course, partner support or support from my doula, Carla. For months, my husband and I religiously listened to the Hypnobirthing tracks at bedtime and did the readings provided randomly throughout the day. We really learned it is not about pain tolerance but mostly mental prep. During early labor, the poses we learned during our Spinning Babies class really helped! -- Carla (birth doula): Exactly the energy, support and vibe we were going for! We really loved how we were able to communicate with her as soon as we booked. She would regularly check in on us and send us links to free events / classes and other resources. Carla was always SO warm, responsive, and knowledgeable. Highly recommend including her in your doula interview process :) Kalista (placenta encapsulation): We had so many questions about the whole process, Kalista was very patient and great at explaining everything in a way that was easy to understand! We received our kit prior to birth without any issues. Post birth, we loved the care, info, and packaging!
