I can't speak on how prices compare to somewhere like Lowe's or Home Depot but if I need a hardware type item and I'm home this is my go-to' place since they are only 5 minutes away. When I went to buy screws I showed an associate what I needed and they bagged them up for me. Also, I feel like the associates here are better trained than Lowe's or Home Depot. And the place is as busy as it could be. A steady stream of visitors kept on coming in. The staff was probably the most knowledgeable and friendly hardware staff I've seen. I once asked for a pound of framing nails and 50 feet of rope. One of several older men working there went to a wood bin and picked up a large handful of nails and put them in the bag and asked if that would do. It was clearly over a pound but charged me for just the pound. Another man went to the back and started measuring rope using is outreached arms. Again, clearly over 50 feet but charged me not a penny more. If you are in the area, its worth spending 20 minutes or so wondering the aisles and finding things you'll never find in Home Depot or Walmart. Nothing about CJ Richardson's is commercial, superficial, or meant to impersonate the good old days. What you see is what you get (and that really says something).
