Come to find out on move day that they didn't pack things right and then when they already had our stuff that's when they decided to call and say "oh yea your price is actually way more than what we said and if you want your things back you have to pay it" ..... then the delivery took way longer than what we were told and then on delivery date we were charged AGAIN because we had a slight hill going up to the house and they couldn't fit their truck..... so basically if you speak with a NICK from Bridgeview, beware!!! do NOT trust these people!!! read more

My move was a screw up from pick up to delivery. I was quoted one price and they price kept going up all the way to and during pick up. Fees were added for packing but they used the used blankets and taped them to the wrapped items vs using packing material and then charged for packing material that was not used. Was promised that I could pay with a credit card at pick up and delivery but when the third party arrived at pick up and delivery, they demanded cash, cashiers checks. Do not use this company they hire third party company called SuperMovers and the staff they hire is very rude and demands their own rules with change of rules on pick up and delivery. They threatened to hold my stuff for ransom if I did not pay full balance in cash. Very bad customer service. read more

Do not EVER under ANY circumstances use this company. Bridgeview advertises that they will take the stress out of your move. Renting camels to personally haul your household goods across the country would be less stressful than dealing with this horrible failure of a company. I can't begin to write down all the issues we had with them, but here's some highlights: They demand 50% non-refundable down payment before doing anything. The week before they pick up your stuff they call you to tell you they most likely underestimated how much space you will need and you need to pay more money. But don't worry, you'll only end up paying for what you actually use (spoiler, you magically end up using exactly what they fleeced you for in this call). After pickup they demand another 25% of the payment, then tell you on delivery they will not accept the same method of payment you were using, and will not release your stuff until you figure out how to pay this new way. This includes cash or money order or some shady internet payment methods that your bank will not guarantee will actually work. So you get Western Union money orders only to be told they don't accept THOSE money orders and you can't talk to their manager because they just left the office. After spending a sleepless night trying to figure out how to get your money back on your money orders (an impossible task in itself) you find out that they were wrong and they DO accept those money orders. Then when it comes time to have your stuff delivered in the 7-10 days timeframe (more likely 7 days, they tell you) they never call or show up. So you call them to find out your stuff is still sitting on a truck somewhere and isn't scheduled to START to be moved for another 4 days. After 4 days you spend all day trying to get someone on the phone and when you finally do they tell you you are lying and they never told you that it was going to be transported that day and it will be ANOTHER 5 days before they START to transport your stuff. Why are you so upset? A mere 3 week's wait sleeping on air mattresses in an empty house is clearly well within their NEW made-up timeline of 7-14 BUSINESS days. Then once they finally decide to ship your stuff, you get to play the game of trying to pay them the last 25% so they will actually unload it. The day before it is set to arrive they call to say that now suddenly they change their mind and refuse to accept cash! Then when they do arrive their office tells you AGAIN that Western Union money orders are not accepted! When you tell them that you've verified that they would accept it many, many times over the last MONTH that they've held your stuff hostage, including just the day prior, they once again call you a liar and say it never happened and you were always advised against them. And oops! you have stairs. They've known that for 2 months, but now decide to tell you you owe MORE money because of it. read more

This company is a complete scam. They will give you a good quote then make you pay a reservation payment. A few days before your move they call you again and tell you that you need more space. The addition space will cost you big and require you to pay more money up front. If this was all that happened to me and my wife, I probably wouldn't be writing this complaint. They didn't show up on the day of our move. They didn't show up the next day or the day after that. Each day they gave some extremely crappy excuse. In the end we had to move using uhaul. I have moved across the country several times. I know a good move from a bad one. this one with Bridgeview is one of the worst. i was moving from Washington state to Missouri. It started out ok. estimates were ok, delivery date had to move because of house closing dates. went through my inventor, and estimated 1900 CF. lots of money. the subbed the job to Familiar movers ( a story for another time). I had no choice in this company. They show up at my house and estimate 3400-4000 CF and an additional $4800. if I didn't pay they can leave my stuff there. I needed to be out by the end of that week. I was also charged another $3400 at delivery time because they said they could not fit the truck in my drive, and needed to transfer to another truck. if I didn't they wouldn't delivery my things. what do you do? in 70 years old I cannot finish the move myself, as was suggested. the guy that did the final delivery, was able to fit all my items on his 1800 CF truck except for a sofa and 2 chairs. PROOF! he will testify to that. I provided this I got o BV and Familiar. they are rude, short and threatening. I had a lot of damage. I provided photos and all of this info. that part of the claim goes to Familiar, but BV just says I have no proof and they won't do anything for me. Stay away from this company. They are thieves. They have stolen my entire household, picked up July 16th, 2023 in Tamarac Florida and as of today September 11th, 2023 they can not tell me where my things are or when they will be delivered. The total value of my items far exceeds that of a capital crime and I am reaching out to law enforcement as well. This kind of thing just can not be allowed to happen. I moved from Tamarac to support a medical clinic in rural Colorado in a very low income area. I planned my move carefully to allow myself to survive and support the community. Bridgeview has gone out their way to make me suffer. I have house that has no furniture, no bed, no linens, no cookware, no dishes. I have even been declared a hardship case by the CNO and CEO of the hospital system I work for. These individuals need to be investigated by the police. This behavior is criminal. I wish I could give them negative stars. First. Be aware, the deposited is non-refundable. Second, the initial sales guy that we talked to quoted us $2400 for 59 items. When the quality called for a walk through of our items, he quoted us an additional $3000. Then, reduced our items to 25 items and said he could do the move for $3400 total which was still $1000 MORE than initially quoted and 34 item LESS. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. This company is deceptive and highly misrepresent their services, and more than likely are scammers. When we hired this company, Nick, a sales rep, stated on the phone that they would be the ones completing the move, and own all their own trucks, "unlike all the other moving companies". We put a 1,200 deposit down in good faith that they would arrive on the scheduled day. In our "binding" contract, it stated they would arrive between the 6/17-6/18, but they did not show up, nor did they attempt to call us to inform us of any delay. We had to reach out to a few different people to finally get a response, when finally, the sales rep, Josh, basically said he was unsure when/if anyone would be arriving. As they did not show up, we started to become concerned about this company. When we initially researched their company in March, they didn't have very many reviews, but the ones they had were fine. Upon further research, most of the 5 star reviews look fake (as these were the only reviews said "customers" posted), and there now are many more one star reviews, further stating that these guys are scammers, noting that customers have been strung along, no showed, items held hostage, etc. Due to them no-showing, us needing our items moved by the end of the month, and these reports from other customers, we reached out to them asking for our deposit back as they did not render any service (and more than likely, never even scheduled movers in the first place). Of course, they initially only wanted to talk to us on the phone, not in writing, but finally, we got a response stating that we would not be getting our deposit back. In the contract, although, in the bold print it gives the dates that the move will take place, in the fine print it states that these dates are not guaranteed. There are many other ridiculous and unrealistic items in the fine print that show a total lack of accountability, especially paired with the fact that they are telling customers one thing verbally while in reality its a totally different story. It's almost as though they do this intentionally. We recognize that we should have read the fine print more carefully, though, we did not go into this deal thinking that they would be taking part in deceptive business practices--expensive lesson to learn, I guess. We figure we're getting off easier than the other customers who have had thousands of dollar increases due to this company low-balling the customers and then making backroom deals with the movers who shake the customers down once they have their belongings in hand. We hope no one else has to experience or do business with these folks, but as most scam artists do, they will probably pick up their business and move unto the next scam eventually. read more

What an absolute pathetic excuse for a company! Charged me $8,000 to move my stuff, and an extra $800 to use a credit card (unheard of) for the deposit. These people are not movers but robbers! They refused to move some of my stuff labeling it as "too fragile", they broke a few of my old family heirlooms, and failed to deliver at least $10,000 of my stuff which is still missing. From electronic equipment ($2,500 brand new a/v receiver) to clothes and many other things. They promised a 3-5 day delivery from Florida to Maryland, almost 3 weeks later of calling everyday and eventually received SOME of my stuff, having to purchase and sleep on an air mattress. Delivery guy answered my call and admitted to my missing stuff and said it would be delivered. Never received any of it and my phone number was blocked from contacting them. Disputed my charge with the credit card company for them to rule in their favor after me paying the extra charge.... This company took advantage of and ripped off my elderly parents. I wish I had read all of the other one-star reviews before using Bridgeview, as they apparently practice this sort of manipulation on everyone who hires them. My parents had some belongings that they simply wanted to ship cross-country as they are preparing to live closer to home. The first customer service person quoted one price that we agreed to. Then we had to speak to a "Quality Assurance" (LOL) person who raised the original quote and made us add on to our deposit, but "guaranteed" us that we would get a discount on pickup and drop off, because he was reserving us way more square-footage than my parents' belongings would take up. I should have stopped the process right there, but these nice-sounding, smooth-talking customer service people assured me that we wouldn't pay higher than our quote, and that we would most certainly pay less. When the items were picked up, the drivers were to collect half of the remaining balance of what were were told we would owe. The "quality assurance" man gave us a worst-case scenario of what we would owe at that time, and again assured us that it would be lower based on our list of items to ship. Unfortunately, my elderly father was the only one there at pick-up (I was to be on the receiving end), and the driver fast-talked and manipulated him into thinking he had to pay a couple hundred MORE than the original quote. AND my dad opted to NOT ship some of the items on the original list from when the square footage was calculated. So, then, once the items arrived for delivery, we had to pay the same amount that they talked my father into in order to finish the delivery. And now nobody at Bridgview Van Lines will answer my emails or inquiries. They originally told me they were waiting for a bill of lading from the trucking company, who, by the way, refused to leave any receipts or copies of any paperwork at either pick up or drop off. Worst moving experience ever. Was told it would be Bridgeview Van Lines the entire move and no third party vendors. They were late in picking up my items making me late to turn in my apartment keys with the lease ending that day. Requested a discount and the third party movers said it was not them who messed up so they're not giving me a discount. When I called Bridgeview Van Lines I was told upper management would call me. Never did. I called back several times because I'm not in the moving industry. I don't know the process. Must have got axed and put on the do not answer list because they eventually stopped answering my phone calls. The third party movers I was assigned to were called Federal Moving and Storage. They did not communicate with me very well either. Never could update me on where my items were. Bridgeview Van Lines originally told me I would get my items in 3-10 days but Federal Moving and Storage told me it could take up to 21 days but he thought it would take only like 5 days. 18 days later and they've told me 2 different drop off dates now. Thank goodness I didn't have to ask off to accept items that were not going to be delivered! Finally when I kept texting Federal Moving and Storage about receiving my items within 21 days, I receive my items on day 21 at 11:30PM! At this point I just wanted my items. The agreed on price at drop off was not discounted for making me late in returning my apartment key, ignoring my calls, and telling me drop off dates when they weren't really going to be dropped off. I was actually charged more. Outrageous. There were literally no repercussions for ignoring my phone calls or lying to me about drop off dates! Communication is very lacking with the customer. The one paying for the jobs. Instead the Bridgeview Van Lines and Federal Moving and Storage talked to each other about me who "calls a lot." Maybe if they answered my questions and stuck to their schedules there wouldn't be so many phone calls! Overall very unsatisfied and super stressful/anxiety inducing. As I'm unpacking now, I have received two boxes that are not mine so hopefully I don't have two boxes floating somewhere in someone else's place too! I do not recommend this business at all! Eli from Bridgeview Van lines calls. The first question I ask is if he is a broker. His reply was" no" I told him that I had used brokers before and he assured me that he wasn't. As I have moved cross country before... I gave him an accurate itemized list. I asked If I could get delivery on 9-2-23. He assured me this wasn't a problem. I told him that if it was I would get a U-Haul and use the U-haul unloading service. Again he assured me that a 9-2-23 was doable. He sent over the documents to e-sign. I quickly looked at them and saw the delivery dates. I asked him and he explained that those dates are in the contract incase of something like a hurricane. Ok, I thought. He baffled me with bullshit. I signed everything and gave him my down payment. So things are fine until 4 days before the move. I get a call to verify my inventory. I took off a huge dining room table, 8 chairs, 2 bar stools, and 5-27 gallon totes. I added a portable rolling battery charger. I was charged an extra $1000.00. 4 days before the move what was I to do? I paid it and explained that I downsized the load. I was pissed. Then 2 days before the move Sierra calls to make sure everything is good to go. I said yes, and told her that I was expecting my stuff to be delivered on 9-2-23. She stated that that date wasn't guaranteed. That my stuff would be delivered between 5 to 14 days prior to that date. I said a no..... that is not what Eli and I talked about. I went and rented a 6x12 U-haul to throw our essential living items in. Which lightened the truck load substantially. I called and talked to Shannon Wilkerson and explained everything. She stated that I reserved that space and tough luck. So they moved my stuff as the driver was down the road I noticed he had forgotten my gun cabinet and called him. He said I can come get it. I said no, I will throw it in the U-Haul but, I wanted that knocked off the bill. He agreed. Then making my final round, noticed he forgot my copier. I texted him. He called me on his way to somewhere in Texas. Again, I said take it off of my bill. He agreed. I called Shannon the following day. I explained that he had forgotten those items.... She was like they aren't on the bill of lading. I said that they were on the inventory list and were supposed to be picked up. She said they weren't on the bill of lading and I was not charged for that. Ummm yes I was. She argued and hung up on me. So here it is 9-25-23 and still no furniture or other belongings. I contacted a lawyer and found out that I have a right to know where my stuff is. Come to find out that they are sitting in a warehouse for 3 weeks. I asked for a delivery date.... I will have to call the dispatcher. It turns out that Bridgeview is a broker and sold my load off to Familiar Movers. I have called them numerous times and get no answer. So here I am writing a review. Tomorrow I call the DOT and file a complaint along with the BBB, Florida Attorney General, and the Minnesota Attorney General. I will also file a theft by swindle police report with the local police and set my lawyer in motion to file a " deceptive sales practice" lawsuit. I sure wish I had spent more time reading reviews before hiring this company because everyone's experience sounds identical to mine. I called for a quote for my interstate move to determine whether professional movers were in our budget. Our primary motivation was that we have some very large furniture pieces that we didn't think we could move ourselves, and that we wouldn't know how to handle without damaging. The salesperson assured us that they would wrap everything carefully, disassemble and reassemble at the other end. Josh was very aggressive, making it sound like he could get us additional discounts if we booked immediately because of another area family that could be paired with us. At one point, he asked how we compared with other quotes we had received. I told him that I hadn't received other quotes yet, but that my husband said if we could keep it under $5000 we could consider hiring professionals. Lo and behold, Josh, the salesman arranges discounts to get our quote down to $4900. We agree. We paid a $1900 deposit Via Venmo to some woman named Natasha. What reputable business does not accept major credit cards? As soon as they have the money in hand, we get an email that states all correspondence going forward will be through customer service. Subsequent emails with contract etc. start telling us what we weren't told up front. Such as...From pickup to delivery could be between 3-6 days. Items that they won't take such as liquids, propane, and loose items that are not in a box. We quickly realized that we would need to rent an additional U-Haul so that we could have a bed to sleep on for up to 6 days waiting for our stuff, as well as transport everything that's not realistically boxable: our grill, lawn mower, weed eater, shovels, rakes etc. This cost us an additional $900 but allowed us to get most of our belongings aside from the furniture to our new house the weekend before our pickup was scheduled. A few days before our move we receive another email about "Preparing for your Move." This email detailed what we needed to do to prepare for our move including specific instructions on how to preserve anything with non-detachable glass, including bubble wrap and cardboard. I was not comfortable with this because I didn't want to put tape on my wood, or purchase more supplies. This is why I hired movers who would be well-versed in this type of thing. I called customer service to ask about this. She said if we wanted that type of packaging service, it would cost $75. A few days before our move, we get our Quality Assurance call. The purpose of this call is to firm up your final inventory in case you had additions or deletions that would change the quote. I added a kitchen table and 6 chairs, but I deleted significantly more items, including a full size mattress and frame, 4 sets of stackable drawers, and 45 boxes which I had taken on the aforementioned U-Haul. I provided measurements to the Quality Assurance representative for all the larger pieces of furniture. Side note: When I asked about the packaging for the China cabinets because of the specific directions I had received in the customer service email, the QA rep. was outwardly rude, calling me "anal" and suggesting I go to Walmart and purchase the bubble wrap so I could package it to my satisfaction. I tried to explain that I was just trying to clarify whether I was required to prepare these items as implied. At the end of the call, he told me that it looked like my shipment would be the same or under what I was originally quoted. When they sent me the bill of lading to sign, it still had the original list. None of the additions or deletions had been made, and there was no record of the measurements I had given. Since the quote remained unchanged, I docusigned it. The day before the move, I receive a text with the pickup window. The text says I should be prepared to pay by Cashier check, money order, or Zelle. Cashier check very difficult since I received the text on a Sunday, and moving day was Columbus Day so banks and post office closed, nor had I been told what the amount would be. Also the cashier check should be made out to Cheetah Movers. Who? On the day of the move, it was not Bridgeview, or Cheetah Movers, but Nationwide Movings who showed up. This gentleman proceeded to tell me that the quote would basically double. Through a whole lot of phone calls between Bridgeview, Nationwide Movings etc. we agreed to pay $3500 over what was quoted, even though the number of items on the inventory had decreased. After pickup, but before delivery, a very chipper salesman Josh called to check in. The moment he could tell I was upset about the cost, he said, "Oh, let me get you over to the right department." Uh huh. Customer service essentially told me, too bad. You signed it. We charge by cubic footage, not by items. Quote was deliberately deceptive. QA did not do his job either. read more
