Got a taxi from Wellman cars from chalterhault park to my house from reg number FD58DAW. My son is…read more3 year old and had to climb to his seat because he's small. We had just left a park and my son left a couple of muddy footprints on his seat due to the climbing. It will come off with a wet cloth!His car was already filthy before this.This taxi driver spent the whole journey making us feel uncomfortable. Snide remarks and shouted a couple of times as well because of this couple of footprints on his seat. I kept my mouth shut thinking if I said anything right now he would turf us out and leave us abandoned. After getting told that all their taxi drivers have card machines he told me I couldn't use card and forced me to go to a bank machine. I nip out to grab money from the machine and he's in the back of the car doing something. He was holding my son down and grabbing him forcefully. He dropped us off and shouted at me as well then has complained that I stood up for myself eventually after having to deal with any of this. Wellman trying to cover up instead of deal with it. Haven't even heard back from them or had as little as an apology.

In my experience the taxi will appear before the stated time. All drivers are pleasant and hospitable and cars are kept clean and tidy. Identification badges are always clearly on display for the drivers. Driving standard is also high and I have been well able to relax on any trip. I usually find prices to be cheaper than many other companies and great value for money.

The prices charged are…read morereasonable and you can phone to book in advance or you might find them sitting in Strathaven ready to take you where you want to go. A word of warning though if your going out in Strathaven at a weekend and want a taxi home you are better to book. At one point if you booked your taxi and did not cancel if not required they would put a black mark against your name i don't know if this was just rumour or not but just a warning. if you book then realise you don't need it your best to phone and cancel.

The booking staff on the other end of the telephone, are very rude each time I call and will often put the phone down and end the call abruptly when you are requesting a service. Even when I am at Asda with a trolley full of shopping. Taxis are always late. They are very unreasonable with regards to being on time and when it comes to collecting my daughter to take her to school to, and from school, they have caused a lot of nonsense. I requested to pay via card prior to the journey, and for some reason some of the taxi drivers are too lazy to get out of the car to come and collect payment. Also, one of the taxi drivers were 30 minutes late collecting my daughter from school last Friday. I waited by my front door for the driver to come and collect a payment, and he just drove off and when I went to complain about this, I was told by the guy on the other end of the phone that it's not their problem and they don't really care about the school pickups in the area because that's not a priority. I offered to send over a payment via transfer but the driver very kindly said there was no need. As for the 'customer service' booking staff... I will never ever use this taxi service again, because the manager abruptly contacted me this afternoon and accused me of being rude to her colleague whom was indeed very rude and insulting to me and told me that they were no longer going to collect my daughter to and from school and told me it was my problem. You are an awful company, and you have absolutely the worst Customer Service service skills if any at all. You have no empathy for people with mental health issues, and you don't care about the children in the area. You only care about how much money you make from each fare. You are a disgrace of a company, and I will make this well-known to as many locals as possible. I am absolutely disgusted and really upset by your service. I am a single parent I don't have any family to support me and I Can't drive, so I use public transport on a daily basis to go anywhere. The people that work for you are completely vile and evil and should have the sack for the way that they have spoken to me. Firstly, I had an issue with the app. I booked the taxi but I couldn't see the tracking of the taxi to arrive, which was a little frustrating. When the taxi arrived it was because there was something wrong with his system, and he phoned into HQ on loudspeaker while I was in the car and then I needed to give him directions some of the way. I also didn't love his driving style as it made me a little nervous. They're clearly trying to offer a premium service vs Eastwood Mearns taxis, with water in the car and free wifi. The price was very cheap as well, £5.50 compared to £7 for a taxi from Newton Mearns to Clarkston. Maybe I just had a less-than-perfect experience but I think I will probably stick with Eastwood Mearns as I've always been pleased with their service.

The man on the phone told me the driver had been cancelled as he didn't want to take the dog (why pick up the job in the first place then?) I told the man on the phone to just cancel the job and I would try with a different company, he misheard me and thought I said I'd get a decent company, when I tried to rectify the mistake he was rude to me and hung up on me. They're operators can also be a tiny bit arsey if you call back to check when your cab is on the way, and they don't send a handy text when your car is on the way either. That said, nine out of ten journeys with Hampden go swimingly, and I recently had a driver who gave some intelligent, culturally minded chat, rather than the tired "send 'em all back" monologue you often expect. Not my first choice cab firm, but still four stars.
