What a fantastic new place for this antiques and interior design store that was formerly housed in…read morea tiny space in a random part of Hingham, and is now in a huge light-filled space in the pleasantly busy Hingham Shipyard shopping area. In addition to interesting items from the 19th century there is a vast array of mid-century modern furniture and accessories. You don't have to have a house or office entirely devoted to Mad Men sensibilities to appreciate this modernist aesthetic. The space is such that things have enough room to be clearly seen and admired. This is not like some antique stores which can be dark, and overly filled with items placed too closely together to get a proper perspective. This store is lovely, the owner charming and many of the pieces are fabulous. I'm glad this place has been able to expand while still remaining conveniently in my neck of the woods. It's definitely worth stopping by but leave that drafting table for me.
