She also provides a lot of knick knacks and other things that a bride does not typically have time to even think about. In the past weddings I've seen, she's also provided linen tablecloths and satin seat covers. With that said, I have to say I am very disappointed in her lack of professionalism. I am not a hard person to please nor did I have a crazy detailed list of what I wanted. What I asked was that she provide the same services she had provided for my friends' previous weddings and that she provide garland centerpieces. I was not picky about the type of flowers or greenery used. I spoke with her about doing my wedding and gushed over how much I love garlands and how that's all I really wanted. I showed her pictures of garlands, she showed me pictures of garlands. She also told me that seat covers come at an extra cost, specifically $1 each cover. We also discussed at length about what color tablecloths were to be used. She sent me a list of what services she would provide. Her second language is English so I didn't think too much in detail as to the wording - but this will become important later. I admit, our communication was sparse - I was busy, she was busy. I emailed her to meet again as it was crunch time - less than 3 weeks away type of crunch time! - and didn't hear back from her for over a week. I had to leave additional email, then voicemail, then text message for her to answer me back. We met up with the wedding being only 2 weeks away. I asked her what color tablecloths would be better and she tells me she never offered me tablecloths. A little panic settles in. I asked about the list of services she emailed me stating "tablecloths x tables". She tells me that it was under a (very unassuming) subheading of ceremony, so she would only provide tablecloths for the entryway table. I was shocked. I tried to clarify this and even brought up the fact that she provided tablecloths for my friend's wedding she did only 4 months before, who had double the guests we were anticipating at the same venue. She tells me it's because my friend had used some round tables whereas I was only using long tables. (What??) I am starting to feel desperate. I tell her we can use round tables too as long as she can provide the covers. She ignores my plea and tells me to use paper tablecloths instead or she can tell me of a company that rents out linens for $9 each table. She then tells me to relax, think about it and we can discuss it later. She gives me 3 days to confirm so she can order the flowers. We get back together 3 days later. I tell her that we were going to just buy paper tablecloths ourselves and also ask if she can go ahead and provide the seat covers she mentioned before for $1 each. She then tells me she doesn't have seat covers. I again tried to clarify and she tells me she never offered this and even if she wanted to, she barely had 100 covers. At this point I'm just trying to breathe. I think to myself that I'll figure that detail out later. I move on to the topic of the flowers before signing the contract. She then tells me that she never offered garlands! This is when I felt like I was in the twilight zone. I breathe in and accept this change and ask her politely as to what she was envisioning. She sketches out a box in the middle of a table with long stems coming out of it. I look at her completely perplexed and try to clarify - "so the centerpiece will be a box?" She then goes, "no not like a box" and then shows me a picture from Pinterest of a vase with long stems coming out of it, albeit pretty, however still not the garlands that I really was wanting. I tried to clarify this and she then tells me that she never wrote "garlands" anywhere on the list she wrote up. (I'm sorry, I didn't realize I was dealing with a florist lawyer - it was my bad to look over the flaws in the contract she wrote up, thinking I was being forgiving knowing that English is her second language.) I'm upset and try to swallow all of this insanity in. She then says she feels like she is disappointing me and doesn't think it's working out. She tells me she suffers from panic attacks and she is feeling stressed. I honestly was desperate to keep the florist even if that meant I was paying her to put flowers in vases, so I told her -" hey let's do the flowers and vases! I'm down for that!" And she tells me no, she doesn't think this is working out and tells me I have to leave. She wouldn't even let me apologize for making her feel stressed and repeatedly told me to leave. I was truly disappointed in her lack of professionalism and would never in good conscience be able to recommend her services.
