I reached out to Derek via email and we had a very good conversation over the phone. I decided to hire a MUA for my engagement shoot semi last minute (within 3 days). Of course I double checked with him and he agreed to come that following Saturday morning (plus he was local). We reconfirmed the appointment and everything was set. Day of, he was a no show and did not bother to communicate at all. That's not how you run a business. Mind you it was early, so I could not find someone else to step in. Luckily I am talented enough to style my own hair and do my makeup. Engagement photos came out lovely, but why make promises if you cannot commit? And not reaching out to a customer day of or after the fact to explain is just poor practice.

Lianna came highly recommended by several friends. I kept hearing things like "She is the Brazilian blow out queen!" "Best balayage in NY!" okay, so what's a girl to do? book an appointment, of course! For starters scheduling my appointment was super easy. She has her own studio which is so chic, clean and modern. One on one attention! That's right, no more schlepping from the washer, to the colorist, the other random person blowing out your hair. Lianna is a one woman show and it was the best experience. I don't think I could ever step foot in a crowded salon again. What I got done-Roots, highlights, balayage and blow out. The end result was beyond my expectation. My hair looks FLAWLESS and natural! Compliments left and right. She explained her entire process in detail and went over pricing before she got started=professional! Lianna is so sweet, down to earth and funny. The entire process took approximately three hours, and usually I am dying of boredom, but Lianna made the whole experience so enjoyable. She is affordable and I can't wait to book my next appointment!

She instructed me to look in the mirror multiple times so that I could see how the look was progressing and tell her what I did/didn't like so that the end result was exactly what I wanted.
