Greater Downtown, Northeast

I could not be happier with my decision to hire Grant Renne to take care of my basement needs. I…read morehad water coming in through the walls and floor of my basement. An interior drain was installed to fix the water problem. I also had a sump pump pit that needed to be dug deeper. The bottom of the pit had a 6 inch concrete base that needed to be removed. From start to finish, I always felt like I was in great hands! Prior to and during the work, the company was honest and responsive. They started on time and from there, the work went smoothly. The guys who worked on my home were friendly, diligent and professional. I also appreciate the clean work throughout the entire job. Without any hesitation, I would recommend Grant Renne and Sons Inc.!

I had the pleasure of having Grant himself come out and look over my basement. I had bought the…read morehouse two weeks ago and knew there was water in the basement. I had patched up the one main hole but had concerns about the cracks in the walls (which the foundation inspector told me I needed to dig out and fill in with epoxy). Grant spent the next twenty minutes with me schooling me in the simplicity of "how water gets into a basement." He walked around my basement and outside and pointed out the things that needed to be addressed (window wells, grading, guttering, pitch of driveway, etc.). All in all, he was very straightforward in telling me that I needed to work on those things and work backwards. That this was a simple process of eliminating the issues of why water is coming into a basement and there was no need for his company to do anything at this time. I could have hugged him. I had been preparing myself to ask whether he wanted an arm or leg as payment and he let me keep both along with dignity. It is such a blessing to find a company in a trade that is so honest. I plan on making a point of telling anyone who will listen about my experience and if and when I still am having issues with my basement I know exactly who I will be calling.

Foundation Recovery System, Lee Summit, MO a subsidiary of Groundworks…read more On 25 August 2025 the Foundation Recovery System's Team came to my house to do warranty work on our retaining wall. Part of the work required that FRS dig up parts of my driveway. The team did a great job. To repair the driveway, I was told to hire my local concrete guy to do the repair of the driveway. The cost of the concrete repair was $2,880.00, which I wrote a check to the concrete company at the completion of their work, which was on 10 September 2025. I provided a copy of the bill of laden, my check, and picture of the repair work done to FRS. I requested reimbursement of the cost of repairs for $2,880.00. I provided the information on Oct 2025 to FRS in Lee Summit, MO. I actually hand delivered. Since this time, I have had numerous text messages with Brock (site manager), but what I have yet to receive is an acknowledgment that payment is due, and more importantly reimbursement for the concrete repairs I paid for after Foundation Recovery Systems told me to do so. I also sent a certified return receipt of all of the information to the General Manager (Joe Keleher). It has been over 7 months and nothing. I find that very unprofessional and very counter to their advertisement and life time warranty of repairs. Nothing like being ghosted by a Company that advertises their professionalism and competency. As a retired Veteran I find that disgusting.

If you have a serious waterproofing or foundation problem requiring professional work, Windler…read morewould be a good choice. Having lived in this house with a walkout basement for about 20 years, we had not anticipated the basement water leakage problem that occurred a few months ago after an exceptionally heavy thunderstorm. The affected area of the wall was about 10 feet wide. We called two companies for advice and estimates. One was Windler in Lawrence. The other was a company in KC. Windler sent its general manager, Patrik Trautloff. Patrick explained what would have to be done to fix the source of the problem. The work would require excavation to the footing in the area of the leak, installation of external waterproofing on that area of the foundation wall, and replacing the external drain tile in that area of the footing. The other firm's bid was somewhat less expensive and could be scheduled more rapidly. Basically it would deal with the effects of the problem inside the basement instead of the cause outside. Since we have a finished walkout basement, we wanted the cause fixed. We contracted with Windler. The firm arrived as scheduled with an impressively professional crew. They completed the work in two days while using a mini-excavator machine for the excavation. If you want cheap cosmetic repair of the interior of your basement, you might want to use a different firm. But if you want real professionals to fix the cause, Windler would be a good choice.

I'm a repeat client and always impressed by the work done. I regularly recommend Windler Foundation…read moreRepair to my clients as well.
