Our server was Norm, he was low key and very helpful. Loved the atmosphere. Norm said the decorations came from Turkey. My husband and I started out with an old fashioned and it was really tasty. Our table of 4 split the calamari which we all enjoyed. My husband and I split the arugula salad which we loved. It had Gorgonzola, dried cranberries, pistachios and balsamic vinaigrette. My husband wasn't super hungry so he had the grilled octopus appetizer and it was so good. I had the grilled shrimp with herbed orzo risotto and Marzano tomato sauce. Loved it. Let me first say, I recommend this restaurant 100%. We had a few disappointments, but we would really like to come back for a visit. We don't get down to Destin as often these days. We were a party of 4 celebrating both couples anniversaries. We are all very easy going, appreciative and love great food. We reserved a table for 7pm outside. It was our first time for dinner, and our friend's fourth. We arrived about 30 minutes early to see some of the sunset, and then waited in the lobby until the patrons before us finished. We were seated at 7:15. Hunter, our server for the night, was professional, friendly, and had such a unique, calm and kind demeanor. It really matched the atmosphere. He asked if there were any allergies, he went through the menu and explained everything perfectly. The menu is very nice. Great choices and variety. Vegan options, and a nice wine list. The most amazing warm bread with a sweet honey butter was served first. Delicious! Wedge Salad was fresh and fantastic. Loved the wine selection. Here is where there was some disappointment. We ordered the Snapper entree, and three filet entrees. All three Filets were ordered medium rare. Unfortunately two came out medium plus and the filet with the two large shrimp was medium well with barely a faint pink. That might not seem like a big deal, but at $62 a piece, you want it close. Asking for Salt and pepper helped (the flakes of salt do not come out of the shaker so you will have to open up the bottom of the shaker to get some salt out.) but sadly, being overcooked really depleted the tenderness and flavor of the filets. Wedge salad was excellent, Brussel sprouts excellent, Snapper excellent, Atmosphere excellent, Service excellent. Hindsight, we should have said something about the steaks, but I think we were all a bit surprised, and felt it would have been hard to send three steaks back to the kitchen, and also such a waste of food. I can't imagine how the chef would have felt having 3 filets go back to the kitchen!! We didn't want to disrupt the good vibe of the evening, waste 3 premium cuts of meat and wait on replacements, but hindsight, we should have said something. I think our waiter may have picked up on the fact that something was off, but we didn't want to affect his evening either. We really appreciated the care and service we received. If you are in the area, definitely make a reservation at Beach Walk for a special evening. Just go for the many other dishes on the menu and request Hunter. You will be well cared for.
