Contacting via email with the team was seamless when asking for a discounted price and ensuring our reservation was confirmed. Going in meeting our instructor, Jamie, was great. She was very chill & let our creativity speak. She was very helpful when it came to teaching and explaining. Her lamps were super cute ! The lamp making itself is worth the cost, you come out with a beautiful piece of art that you created. Once you turn the light on the design looks amazing, even if you originally think differently ! As for the minor improvements. We had to call to figure out how to get in. They said they we should have gotten an email about how to enter, but we did not. The other party that came in also didn't get instructions. So we walked the whole square. Entrance will be the gate closest to the main parking lot, on your right. Ask the staff for the code before going in. Also, DO NOT park in that parking lot or you will be towed. The signs were so small, we didn't know but Jamie informed us. Plenty of street parking ! Last, no Turkish coffee or sweets were offered though it said they were on the website. Not a huge deal breaker, but just don't advertise it. Other than that, great experience. Would come back to try a different craft event !!!

This year was the first year at the convention center location and I'm not sure it was a good move. To start off with the parking was difficult. It's the convention center, so it would be, but then you have to walk across the bridge, go down the escalators and sign in. What took 5 minutes max at the last location, is a 10-15 minute experience here, especially if you can't find parking or get behind someone slow. It is closer to us than the last one was, and easier to find, but it definitely felt like they had either upped the table price to sell due to the new location, or several of our favorite vendors had not wanted to make the move. The unusual crocheted hat lady was gone, as was the hand painted mug seller - both of whom we go to Jingle Fest specifically to see. Many of the vendors seemed less home-based and more mainstream/ festival circuit. Which is great for them, but not why we go to the Craft Fair. I'm not sure why the dancing booth or the San Jose Sharks had a hockey tent at the Craft Fair. It almost seemed like the 100+ vendors they touted this year had fallen through, because they didn't even fill 2/3 of the space. While I enjoyed several vendors: My favorites, Studio Sesame and their beautiful hand made jammie pants, Terri's In Stitches and their absolutely breathtaking quality of quilts, and Queen Bee and her super cute tea cup bracelet. StarVisions was back again this year as well and Steamy Punk, the space was far too open and not homey or welcoming. The only big positive for me was they had an ATM. I'm hoping they find a new location next year - this one really didn't work for us. Though I noticed it a lot less than the honey did.

I think today, 11/22, may be the last day...it's great to support small businesses and get unique gifts for loved ones.

I came here for the Taylor Swift laser show and it was a fun way to spend an hour. It was just fun…read moremusic, lots of screaming kids singing the lyrics, and some cool lasers to look at. I did have to close my eyes a few times to give them a break from all the colorful lights. You can choose where to sit when you come into the planetarium room. The presenter did a good job. There's often a queue to get in due to overcrowding. But that's Valley Fair as a whole these days. That said, the customer service is top notch. I'm always greeted warmly and the employees are very knowledgeable about their products. It's clear they employ LEGO fans, not just those people looking for a job. It is also very well-staffed. Despite all the people coming in and out and the throngs of kids running around and playing with the samples, the floor remains remarkably clear of Legos. Even the Pick a Brick section is clear and tidy. It is hard to knock a LEGO store on prices as it seems LEGO corporate sets very hard lines on pricing and discounts (few and far between). But everything is clearly marked and in line with Amazon and other retailers. If you're brave enough to venture to Valley Fair, and lucky enough to score a parking spot, a visit to the LEGO store is well worth it especially if you've got kids in tow.

I visited Winterfest last weekend and had a great time with my family. Many other families and kids…read morevisited as well, it was traffic entering the parking lot. As a Gold Pass member, I was really happy to get free parking + park entry for Winterfest. Winterfest ran from 4pm-10pm and we stayed nearly the entire time. We mostly visited just to take pictures with the decorations, tree, and the lights, and we were not disappointed. Seeing as there aren't many Christmas activities in the South Bay (outside of Christmas in the Park in DTSJ and Santana Row), I recommend visiting for the holidays! Since I didn't have to pay for park entry, I splurged a little on the holiday foods. The beignets were my favorites of the holiday foods, but pretty pricey at $6 each. The hot chocolate was hit or miss, depending on where you bought it. The funnel cake was good, but too sweet after a while. (Highly recommend splitting that with as many ppl as possible bc of how sweet it is haha) Dress warmly and have fun!

The youth art exhibition showcased great photography and artworks, with friendly cheerful teens and young adults offering to give tours. The main gallery included interactive displays and interesting sculptures in the current exhibition, "From Their Hands to Ours." I especially enjoyed the unique works by Estefania Ajcip, aligned with the theme of connecting childhood memories and tradition to contemporary art. Los Calderones performed two sets of awesome live music in the attached Castellano Playhouse, the band full of energy and getting the crowd moving on the dance floor to their Afro-Latin rhythms. There was some seating available in this room as well. I enjoyed my time here and would definitely return to see more of what MACLA has to share.

I personally would not want to drive through this experience, as it was really fun to immerse ourselves in the colorful lights and fresh air. There are many food trucks, and there are lots of tables to eat at. There was also a juggler for kids entertainment. Another pro: there was a diaper and nursing station for parents. Only suggestion for improving is to have clearer communication regarding shuttle from the park to Netflix (the spot for arrival is different than that for departure). Also, the shuttle line takes quite a while. It is worth reconsidering the shuttle if you go in the evening with small children that have bedtime curfews.

Yesterday, my friends and I came to craft some perler beads for my birthday. We were kindly greeted…read moreand got started right away. The instructor was very helpful and got us situated. The explanation was easy to understand and the tools were cute. The pricing goes either by hour or by board, whichever is lesser. We opted for two small boards and one medium board. There is a wide variety of colors for selection as well as different transparencies. Since we were new to perler beads, our start was a little slow but eventually we got the hang of it. At one point, I reached a dilemma. I wanted to make Momonga but she wouldn't fit in the remaining space of my board. Just then, the instructor came by and chatted with me. I told her my dilemma and after a brief moment, she suggested making the tail in the empty corner of my board and later attach it by jump ring. Brilliant. I noticed she often checked up on people's projects, answered questions, and chatted with them about the characters they were making (both for my group and the tufting group behind us). She dropped by to show me the perler Momonga her coworker made (very cute!). Later, she came back excited, and showed me another idea I could use for Momonga's tail. She showed me a pivot attachment that would make it so the tail would be attached in the back and swing around. She asked if I wanted to try this instead. Yes thank you, it's absolutely perfect!! I wish I got the instructor's name but I was too shy to ask at the end (agh). She was so kind, helpful, and relatable. She really made my crafting experience great and I'm so happy to have had her on my birthday!!

Just a very chill vibe to get your creativity juices flowing. My friends had signed up for a rug…read moretufting session, but we also saw some people assembling tiny beads together into an image. They let me stick around even though I hadn't signed up, so I just took pictures of the process. For the tufting session, you pick a flat image of what you want to make ahead of time. The instructor then will give advice on how to go about putting together your creation. After that, you link the image to the projector and it projects onto your canvas. You then outline the image. Then comes the fun part: the tufting tutorial. The instructor spends about thirty minutes teaching everyone how to use the tufting gun and then has each person practice on a large canvas. After that, you pick your yarn color and tuft away! Apparently, it took four hours for my friends to complete their tufted rugs, but they turned out so cute! They even stayed open past closing hours to let my friends finish. We need more artistic spaces like this.
