Displays are grouped by theme, so it's easy to find what you're looking for- or get lost in all the fun stuff there is to look at, like I did. I even found a stocking stuffer for my husband, a win! There is also an impressive book selection. And right now, there's a red mailbox outside, where kids can mail letters to Santa. My sister sent me to Learning Express on Severn in Metairie to pick up a NeeDoh drop for my nieces…read more When I arrived around 4:00 PM, during the middle of a hot New Orleans summer afternoon, customers were being made to wait outside despite there being very few people inside the store. There were numerous children and families standing outside in the heat, which was frustrating and unnecessary. What made it even worse was that once we were finally allowed inside, we still had to stand in line anyway. There was plenty of room in the store behind me for the people who had been waiting outside, so the decision to keep everyone in the heat made no sense. The entire process felt poorly organized and poorly managed. Making families and children wait outside in extreme summer temperatures when there was available space inside is unacceptable. This was one of the most frustrating retail experiences I've had, and management needs to seriously rethink how they handle busy releases and customer flow.

My mind definitely went to the gutter a few times, but that is neither here nor there. Low-key Expensive!
