The therapists have little time with you because they're bouncing back and forth between patients and that is when they HAVEN'T double-booked (which they call "accommodation" as though they asked you if it was alright to do).

Mmm. I could go for some Pizza. Anyway.. In 2020 I suffered a tear in my supraspinatus tendon. I did 6 months of physical therapy (at a different place) with no improvement, and the only improvement coming after a cortisone shot. A year later and I have another tear in the tendon, plus a slap tear and adhesive capsulitis. The doctor told me I needed surgery, and I asked about physical therapy. He responded to me by saying he didn't believe physical therapy is going to help, and it didn't help last time Boy was he wrong. My experience with physical therapy here was completely different. The team here is trained to another level, everyone is a Ph.D, but they're also incredibly engaged, pleasant, and supportive. They're genuinely nice people. They pushed me and got me to be functionally cured and saved me from 6 months to a year of recovery and rehab. Facilities: brand new, this is a new location and everything is shiny and brand new. Equipped with everything you would need for all kinds of exercises and therapy Administration: seamless - charge me automatically for my copay, bill the insurance, never had to worry about it Care and attitude: superb. Chris and Darren complemented each other and pushed me to where I needed to be, without getting me overzealous and injuring myself further. Lena and Ashley were sweethearts who really took care of me, and made me feel like a superstar every time I came round. Follow up care: These guys (with my blessing and explicit consent) opened a direct line of communication with my personal trainer and pilates instructor so that I can maintain the progress I've made and avoid injury in the future. I owe these guys a debt that I cannot properly articulate in words. And if I hadn't had a completely different experience with PT elsewhere, I wouldn't know to appreciate just how outstanding they are.

Is there an option for 10/5 stars?…read more I first went to Helen in 2019 for an IT band issue, and her treatment protocol completely changed my running and stretching routine. I even encouraged my family to adopt a similar approach. Years later, I still follow the same stretching techniques she taught me. Over the past few years, I moved around the country and never found anyone as good as Helen. Recently, I moved back to NYC and saw Helen for a back spasm--she continues to be a magician. I'm so grateful to work with her again. Helen is in a league of her own. I could write an entire post about her kindness, but I'll leave it at this.

Helen is one of the very few physical therapists who: 1) treats the pelvic floor 2) is holistic and a great generalist too 3) takes insurance and charges affordable rates 4) sees patients 1:1 rather than many patients at the same time, bouncing between them and leaving you to do an exercise on your own while tending to someone else 5) will check in on you between appointments and answer questions via email or text 6) spends over an hour with you at each appointment 7) is fun to talk to and not awkward at all, which is a must when you are working on the pelvic floor! I would recommend her to anyone needing a physical therapist, but especially those looking for pelvic floor PT.

My surgeon at the Hospital for Special Surgery is impressed with my progress , and I made her aware that it's because of the expertise and guidance I'm receiving from Andrea Kwok, Clinical Director at Spear's location at 2273 Broadway. Andrea is exceptional in truly focusing on individuals; she's keenly aware and identifies where I'm having issues with range of motion, pain, and balance difficulties- and then, for my session that day, creates a custom exercise routine to address that day's issues. Her amazing ability to recall my status and issues from my previous session is very impressive and reassures me that I'm receiving expert individual care. She also created an exercise regimen for me to execute at home using the Spear App, which has significantly helped me progress. In two months, I've achieved a knee bend of 124 degrees. I highly recommend that folks needing PT sign up at Spear at 82nd Street on the Westside.

Finding an excellent physical therapist can be hard to do... in fact I usually "save up" my issues…read moreuntil I have a business trip to Tucson, where my favorite PT resides. However, after discovering Flex I don't think I'll be doing that any longer! The staff at Flex on the Upper West Side (Stephen, Ariella, Michael, Madison) are extremely knowledgeable and really CARE about their patients. I recently completed 20 hours of observation at Flex as part of my PT school application, and watching these guys was a great reminder of why I'm going into the profession myself. Time and time again I saw each one of them exhibit patience, respect, and caring compassion towards every person under their care. The next time I need PT for something, I'm definitely going to Flex, and have already referred one of my friends there. Here's more proof - I'm so happy to discover this place that I even took time out of day to write this review (no one asked me to do it). Check them out!

It was double of what I'm paying at other out of network places. During the treatment there was a lot of small talk to fill the air, not a lot of patient education and treatment. My PT was even shooting the sh*t with other PTs during my visits. Maybe that's what some people like about this place, the PTs are very casual. However, if you're a serious athlete or just looking for the best treatment (good exercises, stronger manual therapy, and other more modern modalities such as laser, heat, shockwave, etc.), you should consider another spot.
