It was a regular sized wedding in terms of guests. We sat in white chairs that were set up in the grass while the wedding party, bride, groom, and the officiator stood in front with the trees set as the backdrop. It was a really nice setting. They had a emcee who was in control of the music that was set up to the right. The wedding party walked out of the banquet hall doors down to the front area where they took their spots. The reception happy hour allowed for drinks and hors doeuvres to be accessed inside and enjoyed outside. Some sat in the chairs that were used for the ceremony and others gathered on the side of the reception hall. Once dinner started we enjoyed music and dancing in the banquet area. Low ceilings with good placement of the wedding party and bride and groom. Most had a good view of the entertainment. Overall, well serviced and a good venue for a wedding.

Ah, the Fawcett Center. I used to work here 35 years ago, in the auditorium, as my work study job…read more We had events all the time. WOSU was based here, in the end section by the auditorium. There was a hotel, and a fancy restaurant. I learned a lot, and goofed off a lot. Today, the building has been renovated. No more hotel- athletic offices I think. No big restaurant- a small cafe, where the hotel's front desk was. No more WOSU. It's very clean and new, inside and out. Doesn't look like the auditorium gets used much, and the WOSU end looks empty. Of course, that is my impression from a quick nostalgia visit. They might be busy on weekends. There are conference rooms and meeting areas. Looks like they do catering for events. Hopefully the space is being used enough to keep it going. I saw a few students and staff, on a weekday. I've heard you can park here for events at the Schott. Be careful- all the parking is pay or permit.

Parkinson's and Sleep was the topic of the was the seminar. If you love someone that has this disease, you learn quickly that sleeping isn't something that happens very often. Parkinson's interferes with sleep because your brain is unable to "shut" off. The guest speakers were a doctor, a physical therapist, and a mindfulness expert. Many of the behaviors these professionals shared were ones that John displays nightly. I was thankful that the information they shared was pertinent to our lives! Unfortunately, the food quality was extremely disappointing and well below even basic banquet standards. We were greeted with room-temperature water (no ice) and bowls of wilted lettuce that had clearly been sitting out for too long. The main course included a plain, boiled chicken breast--completely unseasoned and stark white in appearance. The green beans tasted like they came straight from a can and were also unseasoned--no butter, garlic, or anything to improve their flavor. The only redeeming item was the lasagna, which was actually quite good and the only part of the meal I finished. I work in the restaurant industry, and I'm not someone who complains easily. But this meal was unacceptable. For an event honoring student-athletes and their families, more care and attention to quality should have been given. I wasn't expecting gourmet dining, but serving 700 guests such poorly prepared food sends a message: if they don't put in the effort for a high-profile banquet like this, I would seriously reconsider trusting them with a once-in-a-lifetime event like a wedding.

I was a little skeptical of the state professional organization for which I sit on the board, when…read morewe announced that our yearly conference would be moving to Quest Conference Center. Having not seen anything about them, I was more inclined to keep our conference in a hotel downtown, as in past years. However, having just wrapped up our conference, I've got to say, Quest did a more than admirable job, offering a number of services that we simply just didn't get in our prior location. Over two days, the Quest staff handled our conference--about 70 people, all told--with ease. At all points, staff were able to accommodate our needs even before we could even ask for them. Heck, while getting set for my own presentation, the Quest tech staff literally was on site and fixing my technology issues before I could even get back upstairs from the front desk! If I have one down point about Quest, it's probably the food. The grilled chicken salad on our Thursday was somewhat disappointing, a feeling that was echoed during our Friday lunch. The orzo served with that meal was literally nothing more than boiled pasta with butter. No seasoning, no herbage, nothing beyond pasta in butter. On both days, the snacks and breakfast items were perfectly fine--no issues there--but the main meals seemed to fall somewhat flat at various intervals. All told? I'm perfectly happy keeping our yearly conference at Quest. Ideally, we can switch up the menu a little, but as for service? They've got it nailed down.

Been here a few times for a few different events. Since this is an event space that events…read morethemselves can rent out, I'll try to avoid commenting on the actual events. Instead, I want to focus a bit on the staff and space provided at the Kee. I've been surprised by the event staff here every time I've come to an event. Every time I've gone, the bar has been pretty understaffed. Customers will come up asking for water, and bartenders will wave them off, saying "Get water from the free dispenser over there" while the dispenser is empty. Maybe this is a barback issue? The bathrooms start out okay in the beginning of the event, but every event has been out of toilet paper and paper towels by the end. They're looking pretty shabby too. The Kee might consider mid-event janitorial services because women ducking into the men's room to steal toilet paper rolls to hand them off to other women who are sitting in the stalls is probably not the look you're going for. The space itself is cute. Rooms are wide open with ample walking space. The main room (the Kee calls it "The Venue") is huge and echo-y - which is a shame because this appears to be where they put live entertainment and music. We've had a hard time hearing any presenter's words in this room because of the acoustics. The additional rooms are super cute (love the arcade games and unique furniture), but they're only open during events if your event paid for them. The arcade games cost extra money. There are nearby parking lots that'll handle most small-event traffic, but if something huge is going on, you might need to figure out street parking. The hallways/entryways are definitely built for shuttling people through, and they handle entrance lines pretty solidly. (I'm a little confused by the Yelpers reviewing food or drinks here. The Kee is only open for private and public events. It looks like this might have been a restaurant space at one point?)

The bathrooms were awesome (pink sinks, faucets, and hand dryers in the women's room!) -the barista who manned the coffee bar for the event was wonderful. He made a phenomenal dirty cinnamon chai latte -I had a light lunch of whipped honey labneh and I never want yogurt again, just that. Chefs kiss. Another reviewer correctly pointed out that they already add a 20% service charge so do what you want with that info.
