I have been a member of the Reisterstown location of BB for a few years, and this place truly is a second home to us! The staff are the salt of the earth! They are the most genuine, helpful, kindhearted, and loving people, and they've cultivated such a nurturing and warm environment for anyone who walks through the door! Tyler, in just a few short years, has become one of my favorite people in Reisterstown! His infectious smile and caring demeanor remain irreplaceable, so much so that his absence is felt on the rare occasions he's not present! I have shared so much of my life with him, and despite all of the people he sees on a daily basis, he remembers what I share! Making people feel seen, heard, and valued is such a rare commodity, but Tyler does it so effortlessly! He is considered family, a trusted confidant, and forever the one who is a soft landing space to share all of life's highs and lows with! He is truly a 1 of 1, and this place would not be the same without him! Diane is the most loving and tender-hearted person, and she's quickly become another pillar at the gym! Everyone loves Diane, and not only does she care so deeply that she'll get on a machine next to you just to catch up on life, but she'll also do whatever it takes to ensure BB is a safe and clean environment. As a true servant leader, I've watched her clean up water from the floor and routinely check to ensure that machines are operational, all while engaging in one-on-one conversations with other community members. She's made such an impact in my life and become such a dear friend that I invited her to a ceremony for a personal achievement on a Sunday, and she came! She brings wisdom, discernment, and so much joy to our BB family that, like Tyler, this place wouldn't be the same without her! Rian is a world-class trainer! Even though he has not personally trained me, he will not hesitate to walk over while I'm lifting to advise on correcting my form or making my exercise a bit more challenging. If I ever have a question, he's the one I go to, and he's always so refreshingly warm, honest, and thoughtful. And even while training others, he'll stop and wave and greet me by name. He will push you to dig harder because whatever goal you have, he will help you get there. I've trained with previous trainers who no longer work here, but they embody all of the DNA of what you'll want in helping you get to the next level. Since working out here, I've trained for a half and then a full marathon, and the morning after both races, I brought in my medals to show and thank the BB team for their collective encouragement and training to help me crush my goals! I wouldn't have succeeded without them. You can always count on Steve, Zach, Stu, and Laura to greet you with a warm smile and wave anytime you walk past them. It's a given that all gyms have machines and classes, but the staff creates a particular kind of environment, and this location of BB remains second to none. Ive been coming to this location for about 18 months. I have noticed the upkeep of the gym has declined; meaning it is a combination of members and housekeeping. The ladies lockroom seems so smelly and messy more often than not. There is carpet that seems to be outdated and possibly harvesting odor causing bacteria and germs. It reaps of urine smell as if someone had urinated in the front area locker room portion. The toilet and shower area is tiled and often wet as there are some messy woman walking barefoot tracking shower water or pool water everywhere. In addition, the toilets are often wet with urine and the floor. While on the gym floor there are members dropping and busting up weights as well as misusing equipment. I have been inconvenience during my workout as there are folks sitting and taking up machines chatting and taking longer. This gym has a friendly atmosphere but needs to get a handle on housekeeping in the ladies locker rooms and ground rules of equipment use. We joined Brick Bodies because of their pool, and then found out they also have a heated therapy pool! After a knee injury, that therapy pool has been amazing. Everyone is friendly and helpful. It does feel a little neglected in terms of keeping all areas super clean, like cleaning under things. If it's convenient, then fine. For "weekend warriors" its passable. But to people who know what a gym gym should be and gym life is an important part of their day-to-day, this is hardly a good gym. The best thing that can be said is that the trainers are nice. And while the management is tolerant of ambient gym bags and such, it also turns a blind eye to membership's complete lack of gym etiquette. Machines are left fully loaded with plates. People talk loudly on their phones in the workout areas. They sit for ages on the equipment while paging through their song lists oblivious to those who are waiting. The equipment is pretty bad. Broken equipment is generally repaired quickly. Yet many machines are deteriorating with fraying cables and missing weight pins. The dumbbell weight rack is acceptable since they run to 120lbs. The plates are ridiculous. I find myself scouting for 25lb plates frequently since, as I've already mentioned, plates are typically throw haphazardly around the free-weight area. If this gym is remarkable, it's remarkable for what is DOESN'T have. Brick Body's Reisterstown is the ONLY gym within the continental US that does NOT have a seated calf machine. It does have some excuse of a Hoist calf machine which is truly a piece of crap. There is no preacher curl machine which is remarkable nor is there your standard triceps extension machine which you'll see in every other gym in existence. And forget about newer concepts such as belted squat platforms and hip thruster machines which are popular with women. Machines like that are pipe dreams in this gym. This gym has seen no major renovation since before the pandemic and now is every bit the "red hair step child" in the Brink Body lineup. There is still a picture of Vicki Brick on the wall who, as I understand, moved down to Florida ages ago. To say that ownership is absent here is a major understatement. Go ahead and read the five-star reviews, but trust me when I say that my review is the closest thing to reality. The only people who find value in this gym are people who have no idea what a good gym really is - - and they are easy to recognize. But if your gym is an important part of your life and if training to you is more than lifting one plate for 100 reps and pretending to stretch on Astro-turf then you might want to look somewhere else. After being a member for 15 years plus- I ended having to leave this gym for their competitor and it hurt me to do so. After the city gyms had their group exercise classes shutdown- brick bodies did not pick up the slack w their county gyms on the group exercise classes which are very popular. They allowed the classes to slip to once a week. Instead of options being available almost daily. I'm trying to ramp up my exercise not downgauge. I also saw a decent amount of ppl in the gym without masks on or wearing them incorrectly so I felt uncomfortable in the weights sections due to these reasons. My new gym requires masks at all times even strenuous exercise and has a flawless app system for preregistering for classes and checking in to class right before. I also can take a dance fitness class everyday of the week at any of their county gyms during the lockdown so it supports my fitness goals much better read more

Do not sign up for their swimming lessons. The Reisterstown location has a problem with instructors showing up. Went on two occasions and waited around for the instructor to come but they were no-shows. We haven't had a lesson yet! A waste of time and money! read more

As a daily swimmer and an older folk, I expect the lifeguards to be always watching and ready to help if and when needed. Lately, the current lifeguard on duty in the mornings are ON THEIR CELL PHONES and not paying any attention to the swimmers in the lap pool. Please please review your contract with the lifeguard contracting company that you are using. The Cockeysville location/pool have decent lifeguards that are ready if needed. read more

Brick Bodies Evolves' I think what I love about Brick Bodies in Reisterstown is that the owners constantly work on the gym. It's nothing for them to update the locker rooms, the pool and even the weight area. As big as the gym is the only area that can get a little crowded is the weight lifting area. People always seem to be in the way during busy hours but you can't blame the owners for their success. Find a space, grab your weights and get your session over. There is plenty workout equipment available, including treadmills, elliptical machines, stationary bikes, etc. The only annoying issue I have, which drives me up a wall and is also something I've expressed to the owners, is having one of their employees wipe the front of the treadmill down while I'm working out. I almost fell before and although I have asked them to stop this, this one guy continues to do it. Parking is plentiful and I feel that their prices are reasonable. I enjoy coming to this gym. It's clean, big, and there are *tons* of classes in the evening. I'm serious. This is terrific for me since I prefer to go workout in the evening. The Bodyvive class on Monday is great. It's low impact, but since I seem to be riddled with physical problems (steel rods in spine, broken foot, the usual) it's perfect. Low impact not your thing? They have a plethora of harder to classes to take. They have a wide variety of cardio machines to pick from. The free weight section is fairly large, and all of the weight machines are kept up to date. The staff is friendly, and the locker rooms are clean. The pool is not exactly big, but they have one. The hours here are pretty awesome (they're open an hour later then Lifebridge) and the price is right; I spend around $50 a month for a membership an can use any Brick Bodies gym. Sweet! read more

I've been going to this gym now for 3 years and have never had such a positive experience at a gym. In other gyms I've been to, I feel intimidated by the people who frequent the gym daily. One of the things I love about this gym is that there is a person of every age and every body type present. The facilities are always clean (a staff member is always checking to make sure the locker rooms are well stocked and clean). They have plenty machines, and even in the gym's busiest times (especially during the rush after New Year's), I never have to wait for a machine (my favorite treadmill might be taken, but there are always plenty of other treadmills, ellipticals, arcs, and bikes available). In addition, the staff is amazing. The instructors are top notch(I love Becky's Body Combat and all the Zumba instructors are great). There is also two days of yoga (power yoga and gentle yoga), and the instructors are always walking around to make sure everyone has the correct form. As for the trainers, they are so friendly and helpful- even when you aren't paying them for advice. Several times, I've been talking to a friend while stretching about something aching and a trainer who was near by made suggestions to alleviate my pain. And without you even noticing, the staff somehow learns your name and makes you feel really valued. And I think the environment the staff and trainers create makes the members even friendlier to each other. Seriously, this is a very welcoming gym. And the absolute BEST part of this gym for me- the child care. My son has been going since he was about 3 months old (he's 3 now) and he absolutely LOVES going to the gym. I can't even express how great all the women in the day care staff are. They treat my son like he's family and truly care about children. They even have Date Nights where parents pay $10 and drop the kids off for up to 4 hours! I feel no mommy guilt going to the gym to run for an hour or two when he's at the gym day care. I usually go to either the Brick Bodies downtown or Padonia locations, so I think I've been spoiled by the amenities that those two gyms offer. The husband and I came to the Reisterstown location because we had been planning on going to Columbia Mall that afternoon (sadly, this was the day of the shooting and we never made it there), and we were frankly curious as to what it was like. This location isn't bad and it gets the job done, but it's obvious that it hasn't enjoyed the recent upgrades that downtown and Padonia has. We were shocked to walk in and find that we needed locks in order to put our stuff away - the other locations have the embedded combo locks, but Reisterstown doesn't. I was lucky in that we were able to borrow a Master Lock from the front desk, so if you come here - bring your lock with you, because this location hasn't upgraded (yet?). The weights/weight machines are, in my husband's words, "from the 90s". That's not a plus, by the way. They have a very decent selection as far as machines go, but they're all older-style and difficult to work if you're new to strength training. On the up side, I LOVE the cardio machines there - actually better than the machines available at the other gyms. A lot of the treadmills have personal entertainment systems, which I like better, as you have control over what you watch/listen to. I usually have music on at downtown or Padonia because they always have some Godawful reality show playing on their sets, but at Reisterstown I could choose for myself, which was a nice change. The pool is probably the tiniest one I've ever seen! But it does get the job done, which is all that matters. This is a solid gym for the area and if I lived here, I'd come for sure. But somehow I've been spoiled by the upgrades at Padonia and downtown. Hopefully Reisterstown will get the same treatment fairly soon. read more

So let me start out by saying - i'm in no way a gym rat. I have (like everyone else) resolved over and over again to start losing weight. The difference this time? I kind of think this place will help me do just that! I'm new to the brick bodies in Reisterstown. I purchased a membership with my husband. In past experiences at other local gyms, I felt pressured at the end of the tour to sign up. The whole experience was really low pressure and by the end of the tour, we felt the price was right, and signed right up! I think the best part of this club, is that it feels like it's operated by people who actually care about you. There's a nice mix of hardcore gym rats with the people just trying to do better for themselves. There are a ton of classes to choose from, though I haven't gotten into one yet (I will!) It's very family friendly - childcare and aqua tots classes (was almost going to pay extra at a swim school to do this). This really helps to eliminate the pressure of going to the gym with enough time to pick up my baby from childcare. I would not recommend Brick Bodies to anyone due to their false advertisement and failure to comply with their own advertised programs. I recently moved to the Reisterstown area and I was excited to enroll into a program offered through Brick Bodies website called Les Mills on Demand. The program offered on Demand classes along with CLUB ACCESS for $5 bi-weekly. When I went to visit the Brick Bodies office to enroll the manager stated he could not honor the Les Mills on Demand offer with club access because the website had incorrect information. He then went on to tell me that the Les Mills on Demand is an add on feature to a membership. I then pointed out that just like the other membership options Les Mills on Demand shows as an individual plan. Dennis then stated the plan is available without having a regular membership which was a huge contradiction from what was first stated to me about it being an add on plan. I expressed my frustration to Dennis and to the General Manager Lindsey regarding their misleading advertisement on their website and was told there is nothing they can do and I would have to pay $20 bi weekly if I wish to have the features that they had advertised for $5 biweekly. read more

There were several shows I could have plugged in to, but I opted for my own tunes. I noticed that this located is well-staffed and they were friendly. This gym has become one of my favorite chained gyms. Theres nothing but good things about this gym. The front desk is always polite when you check in and they give you a towel. The locker room is always clean as well as the gym its self. They have several different classes you can take. A ton of equipment to work all areas of the body. A boxing gym a pool and a turf where you can to TRX as well as other things. With me being a previous cross fitter and strength trainer this gym has the equipment for me to continue working out that way. Im not leaving this gym anytime soon! read more

He called a year to the day to cancel which was the length of his contract to be told they can only freeze his membership for 3 months not cancel and wanted even more money to completely cancel. I've belonged to gyms my entire life and I have a membership at the Brick Body location in Reisterstown because it's convenient. So, it's convenient, but that's about it. As a hard lifter, I wouldn't recommend this gym to anyone who takes lifting seriously. This gym is better suited for people who would otherwise choose a gym more like Planet Fitness. Most members are hackers - - lifting one or two plates for a few reps and then sitting on the machine between sets playing on their phones. The concept of freeing-up the machine or allowing others to "work in" is foreign around here. It's not so much that people are rude, it's just that they don't understand gym etiquette. There is a popular free weight area, but it's small, crowded and under-equipped. There is only one multi-cable machine, which is frequently busy (annoyingly and often with people doing pull-ups where the ONLY double-cable is available). There are a few other cable machines, which is nice. The dumbbells go up to 120lbs, which is good, but there are glaring omissions; this gym lacks necessities such as a seated-calf machine! The machines are absolutely terrible. Some time back, the gym, for some ridiculous reason, "upgraded" to Hoist machines, which is pretty much the WORST line of training equipment in the world! The leg and back equipment is a joke since the weight stacks are entirely inadequate for a strong lifter. The bicep machine is horrendous with awkward hand-grips and canvas cables which rub your hands raw in use. The calf machine is so awkward that all you do is fight with the machine instead of doing a set. The glute machine is an exercise in futility. Other such examples abound; there is very little to like about Hoist machines. I could go on, but you get the general idea. Like I said, if you're not a serious lifter than this gym will probably work for you. But if your gym represents an important part of your life wherein you seriously build a beautifully muscular physique, do yourself a favor and find another place. read more

I have been coming to this gym for about 3-4 years now, they will always hold a special place for me because I lost a lot and i mean a lot of weight going here. They have classes running all day long Sun-Mon my favortie is the boxing. There is a pool and cycle room the boxing room the yoga room and the main studio were most classes take place. The gym i set up in to a Cardio area and machine area and then free weight to the side. The free weights don't change. But the Cardio and Machine area get new stuff every few months. The new ish is the stair climber. The staff is helpful but I would like it if they took more time with clients that weren't there for personal training you know some free advice can go along way in a gym. Other than that for the price the place is great. I recommend stopping in and taking a class. read more

I really enjoy this gym. You will find people from very small to very large and wide age ranges. The staff is friendly and offers discounts depending on your employment. The exercise classes are very enjoyable but don't plan on the instructors giving you a break. It is not for the weak hearted. You do need to arrive early for some of the zumba classes but the better the class, the more crowded they are. Les Mills is offered and would recommend all of the classes. It is always very clean and they offer incentives every month for you friends/family to join. read more

I have belonged to this gym since it's opening (I got my membership while it was being built.) and while I realize that some of my complaints have to do with the clientele, I do feel that the gym should do a better job of enforcing their own rules. For instance, there are signs all over the place that cell phone use is prohibited, but people are still yapping away & no one does a thing. Women will leave their bag in one of the THREE changing rooms, and then go take shower! Just today a woman stood at the mirror, listening to her music WITHOUT headphones,while she put on makeup. I watched a staff member enter the locker room stand not 2 feet from her while she emptied the dirty towel bin & not say word one. Some of the women there are thoroughly disgusting, shaving their legs in the shower and flinging the hair onto the shower walls! The only reason I opted to stick around this long is that it is the only gym around here that has a pool & one of the instructors has a wonderful class. read more

Would not recommend Brick Bodies Reisterstown. This gym is a downgrade compared to the other Brick Bodies gym such as Perryhall, Padonia, and Downtown Baltimore. This gym lacks a lot of equipment's compared to the others. Another thing is that this gym is not maintained up to standards; there is always dirty towels on the floor and at the machines. This gym needs a makeover. Also the workers are "Meh" asked one of the workers if they had bar pads and he looked annoyed when I asked him if he can try to find one. Please fix this gym. I purchased 600 dollars worth of personal training sessions while I was pregnant. I couldn't use them all due to doctor's orders and when I tried to get reimbursed, the gym refused and told me they wouldn't refund the money unless a doctor said I could never work out again. What a rip. I am very disappointed in the policy for personal training...that is a lot of money and I had a valid reason for not using the sessions. The only concession management made was to allow me to use the training sessions after I cancelled my membership, but as a new mother with twins I wasn't able to fit it into my schedule....very poor consideration of women from a supposed "women's gym". read more

This gym is not bad but could be so much better. The size of the gym isn't bad, it's the lack of equipment that disappoints. When compared to the Padonia location this location has a fraction of the Equpiment, space aside. Recently in reisterstown, they have added an artificial turf area which is nothing more than a large waste of space, although people seem to be making use of it, considering it's kind of in the way. That space could hold at least 6 more machines or pieces of equipment like a lateral raise shoulder machine which they don't have. They also lack many of the typical hammer strength machines one would expect to see like bicep curl and tricep extension. The ISO lateral bicep curl machine could be replaced with a hammer strength machine, considering it's a better machine overall, easier to use, etc. The weight side, although it has the necessities, lacks a full set of EZ curl bars except for the one or two that are over by the preacher curl Bench. The gyms could also use some plate loaded hammer strength machines I.E. Seated bicep, ISO lateral chest/incline/decline etc. I think considering that as members we all pay the same amount of Money we all should be able to expect to get some consistency in locations as far as basic machines are concerned. The reisterstown location is begging for equipment and the Padonia location has an over abundance. They have Machines I've never seen before that looked like they are controlled by compressed air and we are hoping for good ole hammer strength machines. All I can say is if you get a brick bodies membership the only way to get your money's worth is to head on over to their pride and joy because every other space, gym, location can't compare. The good thing is they do offer memberships that enable you to use all the locations. read more

started at BB in July of 2011. I hired a Personal Trainer, Heather, and could not be happier with the results. I have lost 20 lbs, am stronger and more flexible then ever. I thought that once I hit 50, I was doomed to look like many of my peers. Heather taught me how to eat properly, stretch out properly and has me lifting weights and jumping on and over things I never thought possible. I am not getting older, but better. I took Dewey's carido-kickboxing classes and have vastly improved my endurance. I was intimidated when I first starting attending, but the people in class were very kind and accepting of me. When my back started to hurt, Dewey advised me to buy a weight lifting belt and showed me how to wear it properly. Heather suggested I take Yogo to improve my balance and now I can stand on one leg for as long as the Yogo teacher calls for the pose. I've met some really nice people at the gym and went to photograph Dewey in a Bodybuilding competition with one of his clients. We also went on a photo-trip to Longwood Gardens together. BB is a really friendly place. All the Trainers and many of the other customers know my name. It is sort of like that old TV show, Cheers. When I walk in everyone knows my name. BB is a friendly, social, safe, clean, not intimidating place to work on taking care of your body. I am very happy with my results. My family have been loyal members of BrickBodies for almost a decade now and we've been very satisfied with their quality of customer service. Unfortunately some of the new employees have been less than stellar. I went to work out with my brother, we scanned our cards in the front desk and proceeded towards the free weights area. While we were lifting the weights, a guy approached us in an intimidating manner and says to my brother, "Do you want to pay $10 for a guest pass today?". I was a bit startled because I was not sure if he was an employee for brickbodies, he was not wearing a uniform nor a name tag and he did not introduce himself to us in a professional manner, he was just wearing gym clothes like a regular member. I asked what the issue was and he proceeded to state that my brother signed in with our parents' card. We informed him that our mother had been inactive for several months now so it would make sense to utilize the membership that she is paying for. We even asked if we could transfer the membership under my brother's name in the system. He kept insisting that my brother sign in as a guest and just pay the $10 instead of trying to help us resolve the issue. We then asked for the general manager to assist us and he replied "I am the general manager" (we later called the front desk to ask for the employee's name, Dennis Linker and found out that he was not the general manager). I felt that that we were not treated as valued customers. I told him we would just cancel all four of the existing memberships in this company because this person showed no interest in resolving the issue. I been a member of various gyms my entire adult life -- 30 years now -- and this one ranks, at best, in the middle of the pack. For one thing, they could work harder at keeping the equipment clean. At the last gym I went to, the staff did more than check people in & fold towels. At any given time, you could find at least one of them spraying and wiping down equipment -- even the foot pedals of the cardio machines! Also, what's the deal with the video monitors on the ellipticals? They've been broken more than they've been working and the place isn't that old. Yes, the stuff is turned on all day but that doesn't excuse the fact that when they break, it takes them literally months to get them fixed. Seriously? On a brighter note, the dues are comparatively inexpensive and the location is good. I think what they need is a little friendly competition in the area to force them to "up their game." read more
