Short story is that they are amazing. The most recent job that they did for me was the pinnacle of professionalism. I have an old flareside pickup that means a helluva lot to me. But they did not treat it as just an old pickup. They treated it as if was their own. I brought it to them to get a complete custom exhaust system. They surpassed my expectations. None of the the custom aftermarket parts that I supplied fit as the Bassani manufacturer stated they would. That did not stop Alan's though. They modified the supplied parts with precision. This was no hack and burn job. What I left with was an exhaust system that is much cleaner, efficient, and badass. It is honestly MUCH better than I was expecting.

My initial encounter at Alan's was positive - the fellow at the counter was extremely friendly and gave me a rough estimate for a new cat and he recommended replacing the timing belt as well, since my vehicle was nearing 90k miles. Since this advice checked out on Google, I called back to make an appointment for the two jobs (these are not cheap repairs). Was given a date 2 weeks out due to their busy schedule and was told the repair work would take 2 days to complete. Fast forward 2 weeks - handed over my keys and car on a Wednesday evening so that I could have it ready by the weekend. Radio silence from Alan's on Thursday. Around noon on Friday I called to check progress and was told to call back at 1:30pm for an update. Called back then and was told that they still needed to ASSESS my vehicle. I explained that I was told it would be READY by Friday evening and they seemed surprised - couldn't I just leave it with them, (presumably indefinitely) until they got around to it? I explained that no, I needed my vehicle back, but would appreciate an assessment and would think about bringing it in again at a later date for the actual repair. Fellow on the phone said, yes of course, he would call me back shortly with an update on their assessment. Hearing nothing, I called him back at 4pm - he rushed me off the phone, saying he had two people in the office he needed to attend to and would call me right back. By 5pm I was at Alan's with my wife to retrieve our vehicle. Our car was sitting in the lot with its windows down, in the rain. The owner saw us walking past the open garage door heading to the office and did not return my greeting. We entered the office and were ignored. We spotted our keys on the wall and took them. Wife hopped in our car and began to pull out of the driveway, and only then did the owner emerge from the garage, suddenly very chatty. Seeing that we were about to leave, he shared the results of the assessment. I listened politely, made mental notes, and left forever.
