In the short time my relative had him as counsel, he did not submit pertinent evidence to the court, the Trial Judge had to force him to draft a motion of dismissal, which he then proceeded to bill my relative an additional $2k for - and he QUIT when the judge refused to allow him to make a backdoor deal with the prosecutor, 30 DAYS BEFORE TRIAL. On top of that he refused to release them from counsel, and the courthouse clerk had to COMPEL them to turn the case and related information over to the public defender. They tried to remove this review claiming I didn't have any direct experience with the firm -- I DO. I was there and I'm STILL paying back the ridiculous fees they charged in their contract. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY. Even when they drop their clients they attenpted to take me to court for an additional $20k for services THEY DID NOT PROVIDE. The private investigator they spoke so highly of when they tried to convince us to get them on retainer DID NOTHING.I Had to track down and provide statements MYSELF. One job was a traffic ticket that he did NOTHING to prepare for the case and the outcome was an agreement with the prosecutor... The second job was an expungement which again Mark Bernstein did Nothing but lie about. I was told that he has another attorney working on it. After many months I finally asked him to sign a progress report on the expungement, what, when, where etc... That's when he not only refused to sign it he then said that I was harassing him and his office secretary. He then said he would refund the money then DID NOT only to send me a attorney fee arbitration notice.
