This was by far my best dental experience since I've been in the Hampton Roads area (3 years…read moretotal). It was extremely easy to book an appointment and they were able to get me in within a week to fix a broken filling. The staff was very warm and welcoming. The ambiance of the office was extremely relaxing and I didn't feel as if the process was being rushed, and my concerns were heard and addressed! I have really bad anxiety when it comes to dental procedures and even though they had to use a needle to numb the area, it honestly wasn't painful like past experiences with other dentist. I'm looking forward to future maintenance with this group!

I am extremely disappointed with the way this situation was handled. I scheduled my dental…read moreappointment six months in advance, and my appointment was for 8:00 AM today. I drove approximately 30 minutes to get there, only to be told upon arrival that the office is no longer in-network with TRICARE. What makes this especially frustrating is that when I originally scheduled my appointment, this office was in-network with my insurance. If the office decided to stop accepting TRICARE, I believe it was their responsibility to notify existing patients who had appointments scheduled--especially appointments that were booked months in advance. Had I been informed even four months ago, I would have had plenty of time to find another dentist and avoid wasting my time, gas, and an entire morning. What also bothered me was that the office seemed more than prepared to collect a copay, yet there was apparently no effort made to communicate this major insurance change to patients ahead of time. I should not have to arrive at my appointment to discover that the office is no longer accepting my insurance. This was extremely inconvenient and, in my opinion, unprofessional. I understand that insurance contracts and networks can change, but patients deserve timely communication when those changes directly affect an appointment they already scheduled. I would strongly encourage this office to improve its communication with existing patients. A simple phone call, email, or message notifying me of the insurance change could have saved me a significant amount of time and frustration.

Dr Sotack did a poor job in placing a right upper bridge. As part of this 3 tooth bridge, starting…read morewith the canine (3rd tooth from the front tooth) and moving two teeth backwards, the canine is now the largest and lightest color tooth compared to all my teeth. My original tooth did not look like the tooth she took the impression of and had the lab make. During this process, when I went in to the office for the placement of the bridge, I overheard Dr Sotack asking if I had been notified. I had no idea what they were talking about. They called me back and at the desk, made me aware that Dr Sotack was no longer participating with my dental carrier, GEHA. The receptionist printed off a generic letter/memo that was not dated or signed by Dr Sotack informing me of her decision to not participate with GEHA that was made 90 days prior to my visit! I was not given any options of how to proceed i.e how to get the lab to fix my bridge and to find another dentist to finish up her work. I felt I had no other option but to proceed with the placement. She ridiculously charged an excessive amount of which would not be adjusted as she no longer participated with my dental plan. The insurance company was not required to inform the insured of this matter either! In hindsight, I wasn't sure if she had paid the lab for their unacceptable work or how the billing was done. I was in complete shock and was not able to make any uninformed decision on how to proceed. I was not provided with a mirror to visualize the horrific work. This happened in 2022, I believe. Please look at the picture which represents Dr Sotack's expertise in dental bridge work/crowns and her lack of concern of an inherent problem in the making of the bridge by the lab of her choice! Furthermore, her compassion in providing an aesthetically pleasing smile! DO NOT ALLOW THIS INEPT DENTIST TO TAKE YOUR $$$ TO ENRICH HER LIFE AND LEAVE YOU WITH A POOR AESTHETIC SMILE!
