Brian was fantastic. We used him for my sons 7th birthday, and had roughly 25-30 kids (to include friend's kids, classmates, and sisters (4)). Now, so you understand, my children, ranging from 1 to 15 are all great kids, but the young ones are, well, similar to Stitch (from Lilo and Stitch). They are active to say the least. That mixed with the 10+ 7 year old boys that were there, it was a handful of obnoxious energy. Brian was masterful at keeping the kids engaged, entertained, and attentive. If all he did for his act was keep the kids calm and controlled that would have been enough to impress most people there, but that want all he did. His tricks were presented with great build up, all the while using all the children as helpers for different tricks. He was entertaining for the parents with humor, while at the same time keeping the kids laughing and attentive. The kids really enjoyed the show as did all the adults. There wasn't a disappointed person at my son's party. I am not the type of person who cares about what is spent on something as long as you enjoyed it, that said, it was worth every dollar I did spend. We met Brian at a friend's party last year and my then 5 year old son decided that he wanted to have him for his 6th birthday celebration. We planned with enough time. Mr. McGovern was flexible, professional and organized with the schedule and hours, trying always to accommodate us. Yesterday was the day of the show and It was AMAZING. Brian is not only a super skilled magician but also a comedian, a performer, someone who knows how to entertain kids and adults at the same time in a way that works for both groups (yes, I don't know many people that can do that!). The focus is on the kids but he interacts with the parents and incorporates them into the show one way or another. He also has a subtle and effective way of attracting the attention of the youngest ones. Kids and adults spent the entire time laughing and having a great time. Everyone left saying that the magic show had been great. We plan to have him again for next birthday! His rate is very affordable too... I first discovered Brian at my cousin's 1st birthday party about ten months ago. He had an infectious enthusiasm and energy that captivated the entire audience. When it came time to hold my own daughter's first birthday, he immediately came to mind as an option for our entertainment. I went ahead and booked him for the party this past weekend. He is fantastic. He blends humor for both adults and children seamlessly and has something to offer audience members of all ages. We had about 18 kids and 20-30 adults participate in his show and everyone was thoroughly entertained. He did a great job interacting with our sometimes raucous audience. You can tell he truly loves what he does. It comes through in his energy and general disposition. We called Brian two times - for my oldest son's 6th birthday and my second son 7th birthday. Both performances were just perfect. I loved that Brian was easy and clear to communicate with. He answered promptly and also notified me shortly before arrival about him being on the way. Small things but it gives you peace of mind with 15 kids in your house. He arrived both times perfectly on time and kept the crowd totally amazed for the whole hour. The tricks are not trivial. You really sit there thinking "OMG! How is it possible?" It's also something for any age: from cilly jokes and ball swallowing for the smallest to sofisticated irony and totally amazing "magic" for grown ups. We hired Brian to perform for our son's 9th birthday party. The show was terrific! I was nervous about having a dozen nine-year-olds running around in my house, but in past years we've gotten around this by having events at venues like Chuck E Cheese. That was chaotic, overpriced, and stressful! This was the total opposite! If you are worried your kids won't have anything fun to do at their parties but are hesitant to go to the local arcade, this was just perfect! Brian kept the adults entertained as well, and some adults who were planning to drop off their kids changed their minds and stayed for the great show! Even my 85-year-old aunt said she had never had as much fun at a birthday party before. And my 5-year-old is still going around showing people the pencil trick Brian taught them! Yay, finally I write a positive Yelp review. This guy was great! We had him yesterday for a Halloween party for a large bunch of kids (and adult kids). Everyone was captivated. He was simple enough for the children and managed to control them - meaning getting them to all sit back down when someone jumped up yelling "cupcakes". He was also funny and entertaining enough to have the adults watching and laughing along too. And do I even need to describe what happened when he pulled out a real rabbit? For animal lovers, he is a gorgeous, well-kept rabbit who has a lovely little home and is clearly not roughing it. Very professional, arrived early, even helped put up a few decorations (he's tall!). Of course Brian performs AMAZING tricks-- including an absolutely ADORABLE bunny-- but his greatest ability is to bring out laughter in people of all ages. The patience of a saint, coupled with a MIND BLOWING SHOW!!! We had a (small) living room FILLED with 3-6 year olds. He managed to keep them focused AND entertained the parents too. He was extremely professional in communicating about all the details either via phone or email. It literally took me no time to do the scheduling with him. Unfortunately I procrastinated until a week before my daughter's 7th birthday, to find an entertaining way to make the kids have fun. I was delightfully surprised when my daughter asked for a magician but quickly started looking for one. I narrowed it down to 2. But Brian got it because he called back asap. I was very impressed by Brian's professionalism since the get go, he responded promptly to all my messages and kept in touch until the day of the party. Brian performed his magic show at the joint birthday party for my three year old and one year old...what an amazing show! All of our guests, including the adults LOVED everything that he did.
