My friends and I decided to have our double date here as they'd never seen a magic show before. We're both with software engineers who love to problem solve, and watching them two trying to figure out how each trick was happening was absolute gold. Needless to say, Noah is a fantastic storyteller weaving in background context while captivating the crowd with his work. There were about 30 of us on a Friday night, and it felt as though most people were able to participate in some way. Highly recommend!! read more

Incredible show. In a small, intimate setting he told stories about magic awing us at each turn with "tricks" that seem simple and then become mind boggling. Each of us (three teen kids, my husband and I) were completely absorbed by his storytelling ability and of course the magic. When it was over we wanted more...the sign of a good evening. I would highly recommend for a couples night out, friends night or family night. read more

A 10:30pm show on a Friday night??? When my #1 human first suggested we head to a show at such a late hour on a Friday evening, I was a little concerned I'd fall asleep mid-show after a long week. Never did I ever imagine I'd be on the edge of my seat THE ENTIRE TIME. What started as a casual lobby chat with Noah as we waited for the rest of the attendees to arrive, quickly turned into one of my favorite NYC experiences after ascending to the 6th floor and entering the oldest operating magic shop in the city: Tannen's Magic. So, yes, the magic was awesome. And the way Noah brought out curiosity, wonder, and 'HOW DID HE DO THAT??!!' throughout the evening was something very special. Not to mention, somehow Noah found a way to weave ALL 16 of us into the show last night. Noah's flow, cadence, storytelling, and easygoing, playful, and intentional style made for a memorable and magical evening -- all puns intended. I will 100% be recommending friends both living in and traveling through NYC to pay Noah a visit at Magic After Hours. read more

Stellar experience in a nondescript location close to Herald Square (adds to the charm, quite frankly). Everything about the experience, from the initial check-in & drinks to Noah's comfort/rapport with the audience to the remarkable sleight of hand...was wonderful. Very memorable and would recommend to anyone read more

This show is top shelf entertainment. There is not a bad seat in the house. Very funny and enjoyable.

This show was fantastic. The space was small and intimate so you could sit right there with the magician while he performs loads of impressive tricks and tells interesting stories. The performance was funny, engaging, and mind blowing! read more

This was such a fun evening with friends. The magic was mind-blowing; the bubble trick is probably the coolest trick I've seen. I loved the interactivity; not only is Noah Levine amazing at magic but he a hell of an improv king, too. Loved this, would definitely go back. And it was way more affordable than most magic in NYC is. read more

I have been twice and have had a wonderful experience both times. So simple yet so complex! Being that close to magic and learning a little history is fantastic! Always a good time. read more

A legendary location with a diverse group of NYC strangers under the spell of world-class magician...the making of an unforgettable night. A great way to appreciate the craft from a very different perspective. read more

I first saw Noah at our company holiday party in December. He was very impressive so I got tickets to take my husband to his show and it did not disappoint. A real New York experience, inside the oldest operating Magic shop in NYC, inside an unassuming building. Noah is not just an astoundingly good magician but a charming and entertaining performer. He puts on a great show that leaves you amazed, entertained, and intrigued about magic. read more

Really cool show! Still cannot figure out how he did it, this is a fun activity to do with friends or on a date!

Great show. Very intimate setting for a show. Wonderful close up magic. You see everything Evan does yet have no idea how the illusion was pulled off. Entire show on a small card table. Great comedic affect too. Highly recommend. read more

Noah provides a very different take on prestidigitation...! Really great stuff, presented in a unique setting, with very clever audience participation. A wonderful evening. read more

It was fun and interesting. Great slight of hand tricks that left me amazed. It's also held at Tanners, which is a cool venue.

here's the thing: Noah is a genius. he's droll, funny, entertaining, and brilliant. he does this amazing show in a small, intimate setting and makes everyone in the audience feel included. you can be sitting right next to him, and you still won't be able to figure out how he does a single trick! seriously. he's incredible, and so passionate and knowledgeable about magic. I've seen many magic shows over the years; Noah Levine is the best. you'll leave feeling dazzled and just plain happy, because he creates such a wonderful atmosphere. plus, he will stay and chat a bit with audience members after the show. (he's a super nice guy.) can't recommend this show highly enough, and I plan to see it again. loved it! thank you Noah! read more

A Wonderful, Intimate and Unique night of fantastic magic. Noah created a welcoming and charming atmosphere and the magic is amazing. The audience participation is lovely- special experiences like this are why we live in New York! Go see this show. read more

The 5 of us went last night and had a wonderful experience. Magic after hours has a very speakeasy vibe with entering through an office building. Most of us were selected to help Noah with his tricks and one of us is lucky enough to have a card from a deck with his name on it that will go up on the ceiling. Highly recommend this show, Noah is an amazing story teller. His enthusiasm and tricks will keep you entertained the entire time. I can't believe an hour went by so quickly. I thought wearing masks would be annoying but I was so entertained and excited during the show, it did not bother me at all. This was like a magic show mixed with theatrics, almost very Broadway like but super intimate. Go check it out!! read more

Enjoyed an incredible close up magic show by Noah in the esteemed and intimate setting inside Tannen's Magic shop. Highly recommend!

I booked Noah for a private event, and it was amazing! The location of the magic shop, his storytelling skills, and - of course - his magic abilities were all top-notch! We had about 20 guests and every seat was great and able to see (and marvel at) each trick! read more

Noah is fantastic, talented and engages the audience! It is an interactive show in an intimate setting. Highly recommend going! Great for young families, couples, and even friends. read more

Went on January 29, 2019. Bought the ticket the week before - most of the shows seem to sell out, so plan ahead! Awesome magic show - up close and personal. Noah brought a wealth of magic trivia and history to the show and his sense of humor made this a great event. Having it at Tannen's Magic Store added to the evening as we could do a little exploring before and after the show of Tannen's inventory and artifacts. Noah is a talented magician. Quite personable and approachable too. The 'tricks' he performs during his 75-minute show will have you wondering, 'how did he do that???' About 20 people were in attendance, which was cozy. Get there early to grab a tableside seat and prepare to be amazed. I would say the furthest person from the table was less than 7-feet away and everyone had good sight lines. read more

This was a really good show. Noah is more of an everyman than most magicians you'll see, and that approach works really well. You'll learn a few good stories about the shop, and a good percentage of the audience gets to participate. And he willingly engages with anyone who wants to talk when the show is done. More than anything else, it's fun. It's a good nyc hidden gem. read more

Loved the experience from the first glass of champagne to the parting Q&A with the affable host, Noah, and all of the magic in between. Actually, the adventure began earlier just trying to find the historic shop. I definitely recommend a visit. *Unfortunately the shop is not open for sales during the show, so I'll need to return myself during business hours. read more

There is a reason why every review is 5 stars and no, I cant imagine Noah has that many relatives. This was truly a unique experience, and in a city where it is hard to impress people, Noah certainly does the trick (pun intended) The setting is an offbeat magic showroom, and one feels like they may have been transported back to the 19th century, with an extraordinary collection of books, magic sets, and related paraphernalia. . Noah is both witty, charming and most of all, magical, and his "tricks" are mind-blowing. Besides the many card tricks that will leave you amazed, he also performs some unique magic that you will not find anywhere else. There is a reason why the word UNIQUE is used in just about every review, so do yourself a favor and come see this little slice of the occult, right on 34th st read more

If you are considering going, just stop reading this and book your tickets. Noah is awkwardly charming and it only adds to the experience. The space is small and intimate, the show is great and the glass of champagne really helps get you in a mood for magic! read more

If you have even a passing interest in magic, then you owe it to yourself to attend Magic After Hours. The entire evening is part history lesson, part tour of the iconic Tannen's Magic Shop, and (the best part) part live performance where Noah Levine performs some impressive close-up magic. You also get a few awesome bits of magic during the first half of the evening too! I've always been impressed by close-up magicians and have seen many displays of it on YouTube and television, like on Penn & Teller's "Fool Us". I always wished I could be called on stage and see live, first-hand what's it's like to have a professional seemingly do the impossible. Thankfully, Noah is a professional and I was blown away at how well I was fooled with the tricks happening a few feet in front of me. I know something's going to happen, I know there are moves and tricks and he will attempt misdirection....but I'll be damned if he didn't get me each and every time. Bottom line is that it's a fun evening and a REALLY impressive live display of magical skill and sleight of hand read more

Noah is wonderful! He is charming and a fabulous magician. He does the tricks up close and personal and they were all fantastic. Such a lovely way to spend an evening. We took our 11 year-old grandson who is a budding magician and he recognized Noah from going to Tannens! Fun for everyone. Thanks, Noah! read more

If you're not one of 10 people sitting right in front, you can't see the card tricks, just your $75 that disappeared.

A very intimate up close magic show. A great setting in a old school magic shop you wouldn't expect taking the elevator up in a NYC office building. Noah was very entertaining and engaging. Was a lot of fun for my wife and I and our 18 and 16 year old children ! read more

Such a fun experience. Noah is a gifted magician in not only are his tricks absolutely mind-boggling, but his storytelling and sense of humor are fantastic as well. The shop itself has a long and fascinating history and Noah clearly loves telling guests about it and encourages any and all questions. But the magic tricks...holy sh*t. You will leave flabbergasted. Highly recommended! read more

Noah is an incredible host, showman, and magician! The show was an absolute delight. It is unique to be in such a close environment, both with Noah and the wowed audience. I recommend this show to NYC natives and visitors alike - a perfect escape from the everyday, and now needed more than ever, a moment to be awed! And to note, this is all in addition to being in a historic spot. read more

Excellent show. The small, intimate setting as well as Noah's affable charm and enthusiasm for history give you a truly unique experience in this special little magic shop. The night started with a tour of the shop and some tricks, and then we took a break for some refreshments. Noah then put on a show for us around a card table. It was very entertaining. I can honestly say it was one of the most enjoyable and unique things I've ever done in New York City. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to do something different for their night out! read more

If you like magic up close, in the raw, without any smoke and mirrors...then Magic After Hours is a must see. Not only is Noah Levine is a master at the art of sleight of hand, he is also a very engaging entertainer who encourages audience participation. I am a huge fan of art of magic so I have seen a lot of magic shows. Which means I have seen a lot of really bad magic shows and this is not one of them. I took my in-laws who were visiting from out of town to this show and they are still telling their friends about it. The intimate setting, location, ambiance, and showmanship of Noah makes this one of the best magic shows I have seen. If you are a non magician who wants to be amazed by an all around magical experience this is the show to go to. If you are someone who dabbles in magic, seeing this show will give you a greater understanding of how important presentation is to turning magic trick into magical experiences. read more

The environment is perfect and the magic was unreal. It's an intimate setting with only about 20 people so you have no excuse not to figure out how these up-close tricks are done. (You won't figure them out). See it if you can. read more

A truly elegant, witty, and engaging performance. Often magic performances are so overly cluttered with props or faux deep patter that the magic recedes into the mist. Noah's performance was spare and atmospheric and intimate and ... magical. There are a number of big-name magic shows in town just now and I've been to all of them. But the one I'd consider going back to again is Noah's. read more

My girlfriend and I had such a wonderful time at Magic After Hours. What a unique location at Tannen's Magic Shop and I feel like I got a nice little history lesson of magic in the 20th century. We were greeted by Noah as we walked in and he handed us a glass of champagne. We had a few minutes to explore the shop before the show started. Noah was absolutely wonderful! His tricks were great and we were still trying to figure out how he did them hours and days later. He has a great demeanor and he is quite entertaining. I would definitely recommend visiting Magic After Hours. read more

A bit of history and entertainment in an intimate and unique setting. It was an "only in New York" type of experience. An affordable evening with a small group (there were only about a dozen people) is harder and harder to find in the city, so I really liked this experience. read more

We loved it! Noah is the perfect host for the night. He makes everyone feel welcomed and special, and provides a night of incredible, up-close magic you'll marvel at. The setting is also an unmissable piece of New York/magic history. read more

Noah is a talented magician who knows what he is doing. Having said that, he basically did the same card trick 3 or 4 times by changing up the presentation. We were told the show would be an hour and a half but he cut it short at an hour. When purchasing tickets, we were also told that we would be allowed to pick a book or a item from the store..none of which happened. At $35 a ticket it's a bit pricey when compared to other magic shows and venues in the city. However, if you are interested in a close up magic show and would like to see the historic Tannen's magic shop it may be worth a visit. read more
