I've given multiple family members gift certificates for his massages and it has always gone over so well. My sister has even booked multiple appointments with him since. As a busy New Yorker who works a minimum of six days a week and travels all around the city, I can't begin to express how appreciative I am of what Joel does. I am a musician and carry countless bags and instruments while constantly standing on public transportation. No matter what part of my body ails me, Joel is able to work magic and make my body feel relaxed and work better. He also offers cupping and it is truly one of the most relaxing and rejuvenating massages I've ever experienced. His prices are great and you won't regret it.

I heard about Justin via Tippr deals, and booked an appointment to see him. It's impressive how…read morewell he runs his practice by himself and pays attention to detail. A couple days prior to my appointment, I received an email reminder from him, and a phone call reminder the day before. His practice is located in Suite 111 in a small professional plaza just off Main St. I had to call him in order to find it, but here are some tips for other new clients: once you park in the little lot and are facing the building, go towards the left by the stairs. Once you find Suite 111, enter the door and he's in the second room on the right. Justin is very professional and friendly. I filled out a brief history form and he asked if I wanted the full body massage or more focused on back/neck/shoulders. I opted for the latter since I know how tight those areas are for me. He started out more gentle, but I have pretty high tolerance to pain so I asked him to increase the pressure, which he did. It was still relaxing, but I could definitely feel where the tightness and knots were once he increase the pressure. There were some places I wasn't aware of before! :P At the end, he offered me water and we sat down for a friendly chat, and he gave me some tips for paying attention to my tight shoulders when using the computer. *checking right now...* I highly recommend seeing Justin for your massage therapy needs! I used a Tippr deal since I'm currently a poor and unemployed new grad, but regular massages are definitely going to be on my priority list soon. :)

OMG y'all must see Erin!!!! I rarely write reviews but I had such a mind blowing experience at hawk…read moreridge therapeutic the other day with a particular practitioner (( ERIN! )) that I have no choice but to come here and let others know about them. I am a hair stylist so my arms and back tend to have a lot of pain, I have some carpal tunnel as well. I've gotten a lot of different massages over the years working in spas etc and it was a very relaxing experience but it would always temporarily heal my knots or pain ect. I do see a chiropractor so I know that this is a long term thing I have to fix but my experience with Erin at haw ridge has just completely blown Me away. Not only is she sweet as pie and made me so comfortable but she's extremely talented she made me feel very relaxed and comfortable during my massage and during consultation but the work that she did was not just relaxing but specialized and unlike my other times with massage. I had cupping done and myofascial release plus swedish massage. I left there feeling like butter, feeling amazing emotionally and physically and because of the specialized work that I had done my entire next week or two at work I did not feel the pain like I'm used too. It really changed my experience in massage for me. I highly recommend erin I will be back to see her now on a regular basis this is not something that I'm used to but when you know you know! go see erin at Hawk Ridge therapeutic !

My daughter bought me a gift certificate for my birthday. My fault it took me two years to use,…read morehowever I had many issues when booking. First, I could not use the website to book my appointment. When I called to book my appointment, I was told that the gift certificate expired. I read the disclaimer to the representative which states: Gift certificates are subject to the expiration date. If any set forth, on the face of the certificate, except where prohibited by applicable law. There is no expiration date on my gift certificate, still she insisted it expired. So I paid $25 to renew the gift certificate and booked my appointment for Massage on Wheels. On June 25th, the day of my massage, I actually forgot the massage was booked. No one called to confirm. I received a call from the company around 10:30 and immediately called them back. I explained to the gentleman that, yes I did forget, however this was supposed to be an in-home massage. He placed me on hold, and when he came back he said: Unfortunately, we did not have that this was to be an in-home massage and because you did not cancel within the two hours, we will need to charge you. I explained that I was not a no-call no-show you actually were and that they were not permitted to charge me credit card. I felt bad for the gentleman, because obviously he was relaying a message, just as the previous woman did, because the manager or owner does not have the courtesy to get on the phone. This is terrible customer service. Now I'm off to ensure they do not charge my credit card or I will need to file a formal complaint with the Department of Consumer Affairs.

I love the concept of Cosmic Groove massage centers. They charge a very affordable amount for…read moremassages. The 1st and 10th visits are $44 for an hour massage and the everything in between is $54 for an hour. I've probably been to Cosmic Groove 5 times over the past five years and for the most part have had pretty good experiences. I just went back this month for the first time in a few years and wasn't so impressed though. My two biggest issues were that my massage therapist had BO and so I could smell her body odor every time she was near my head. It was a little distracting and not so relaxing having that smell around me. The second issue was that when I filled out my paperwork before the massage and wrote that I prefered no touch below the waist down that day and after the massage therapist finished my shoulders and back, she immediately started massaging my legs. I don't understand, she either didn't read the paper when she was looking over it or she forgot what she had read. That being said, all of my other experiences with them were pretty great. The studio is nothing fancy but it is comfortable and inviting. All of my interactions there have been friendly and warm. I'll be back for sure, I just hope not to see the same therapist unless she showers first.
