They are painstaking about the work they do, he is a perfectionist! He was ridiculously fair, got me in next day, meticulous!!! He even made my temporaries right in my mouth, & they looked better than real teeth!!! I would have just kept those! But what I got were zirconia with no metal!!! No black, receding line! Ever! WORST DENTAL EXPERIENCE EVER. After a series of errors with his attempted dental implant, such as dropping the rod on the floor and sending me away without antibiotics, no surprise that infection set in and the implant had to be removed. It has taken two years of healing and restoration to repair the damage. Mr. Hanratty took zero responsibility and therefore exhausted my insurance coverage for the remainder of the year. His attempts at self-indulgent humor cannot mask his surgical incompetence. At one point his hands were shaking and he said he was "so nervous." Great dentist!!! The bad is he will always side with his staff! Had an issue with a tooth that another dentist had worked on years before. When I came in to DR Hanratty dental office to have some worked done on the tooth, his staff told me " he doesn't work on teeth that other dentist have worked on"! Which I know was a lie because he had worked on the tooth before. What his staff told him, I don't know! But he never asked me what happened. He ASSUMED his staff was in the right. When I called his office I was DESPERATE. I had woken up with one side of my face looking like a chipmunk and in a lot of pain. I am very wary of dentists because I had one in the past give me unnecessary fillings, well that morning those fillings went bad. I called a total of 10 local dentists and 4 down south, everyone said "Oh we can get you in end of next week" or "We can see you in three weeks". Honestly that did not cut it when I had stabbing pain in my mouth. I called his office and they were so insanely kind and compassionate compared to the other offices who were rather cold. They worked their schedule to fit me in the same day. If I had waited weeks to get my teeth fixed I would have required root canals! Dr. Hanratty's numbing technique is by far the best I've ever experienced, practically felt nothing when getting injected and yet I was so incredibly numb (highly recommend to those nervous with needles). His repair was such a relief and he got my teeth absolutely perfect. Will definitely be using his office as my permanent dentist. read more

Taking my business elsewhere - all these 5 star reviews are suspicious... Initial Visit: Everyone was friendly and put me as ease. Dr. Hanratty came in and was nice but when he had questions, he asked the assistant right in front of me as if I weren't there. I HATE that. Also, he made jokes about having to make money so I might need a crown.... Hours are horrible for working people. (closed Fri-Sunday and open 8-5 other days.) Front desk staff was ok - they always seemed a bit snooty. Also, before I came in for my first appointment all they were concerned about was my insurance - even asking for my husbands social security number TWICE (not cool). During my first filling, I was told I needed a crown (surprise, surprise) which would set me back over $500 (with insurance). Dr. H did not really explain why I needed it and furthermore, the "crack" I had in my tooth did not even show up on the x-rays. I was suspicious. They also ask for you to pay your balance before you leave instead of billing insurance and then seeing how much you owe like every other doctors office I've been to. Now after having 2 filings done, I'm now actually having more pain than I was before. The sensitivity that I told them about was not resolved. I did not receive any follow up calls as other people have stated. On to a new dentist! read more

So today I was looking for a new family dentist, and I was so fortunate to find Dr. Brian Hanratty. When I 1st called his office to see about setting up a new patient appointment the lady who answered the phone was absolutely friendly. Surprisingly she said would you like to come in today "whaaat". That never happens I was expecting to set an appointment for at least a month out. When I showed up the ladies were all very cool. Once I met with Dr., and he did my exam I was very relaxed. I hate leaving a bad review and I too am a little suspicious about all the five star opinions. The staff was nice enough, but the ONE thing I found odd was my cleaning with the hygienist. I go to the dentist pretty routinely...every 4 months or so. And never have I had my teeth polished before the scraping of tartar. Why is this a big deal? It's like rinsing your mouth with wash before brushing your teeth! So consequently I still have plaque which I can feel between my teeth! And let me preface this by saying I have a pretty nice set of teeth. I confirmed my suspicion of this being incorrect with the staff at our old dentist office and a friend who a dentist. So needless to say I'm worried if they will do other simple procedures incorrectly. read more

Beware of Dr. Hanratty, he does not always tell you the problems he is having nor does he tell you that he would rather not do the work as the insurance payment is too low. I will not go back. Was looking for a new dentist because I knew my long time dentist was close to retirement, but not that impressed with this office after my initial visit. Had to sit thru old corny comments that I'm sure his staff has heard a thousand times. Xrays were taken and - of course - work had to be done - soon - and here's the estimate. Felt like a real sales job. It was the same report my previous dentist had always advised me to wait on and just monitor. Other cleanings I've had took at least 45-50 minutes, but they zipped thru it in a rapid 15-20 minutes. The dental room had wires and clutter everywhere and really didn't look professional. He also made a derogatory comment about my veneers that had been done by a previous dentist - actually a well known dentist who was extremely accomplished and pioneered "no shots, no pain - beautiful teeth". And when I requested my X-rays - they said it would be an additional large fee. It's all about the money for them. read more

I wouldn't recommend Dr. Hanratty office.He did a filling on my son's tooth and left it with a ridge and an open gap were plaque could get in. He doesn't pay much attention to detail. I called Dr. Hanratty's office to take my son back to rectify the problem and they wanted to charge another exam fee to look at the doctor's mistake.It was well worth it to me to find another reputable dentist and pay another fee to fix a problematic tooth that should of been redone at no expense.The office staff was very unprofessional, and as a former RDA I found this office is a merely a one star. I am a traveling nurse on assignment here in California. I have a unhealthy fear of the dentist. I have been putting off getting some dental work done for years. I finally made the leap and called almost 20 denoting in the area and no one could get me in until March. FINALLY I got ahold of Brian Hanratty. They got me in the next day for X-rays and two days later for a cleaning. He was able to get me in the next week for the crown and fillings. I was pleasantly surprised with how relaxed the entire staff made me feel. Especially his wife ( works the front desk) and his assistant Jazmin and of course the doc himself. They calmed my crazy nerves and made me laugh. For the first time I didn't need nitrous and didn't feel a thing. I'm so sad I can't go to him for the rest of my life ( because I'm a travel nurse from Ohio). He was simply amazing!!! He even called me HIMSELF the next day to check on me and see how I was doing!!! Let me start by saying I hate hate hate going to the dentist. I hate it so bad that I put it off for 30 years. As soon as I walked into the office I was at ease. Doctor told me he didn't want heroes in his chair so if I felt anything raise my hand. I didn't have to raise it once. I now for the first time in my life look forward to the dentist.
