Which, I'd been nervous about after I mistakenly went to a 'holistic' dentist for that, which cost so much, and took very long to redo. I had to go to a perio specialist, then to put my zirconia implant crown on, Dr Edwards did a whole procedure to do that perfectly. And I'm very grateful to him that I can now chew normally and not worry about it anymore. Being born without an adult tooth is no picnic, but luckily there are pros like Dr E to help us out with these things in life.

They want you to blindly sign a screen to something that they have on their separate screen that you can't see, but even if you see it or they print it they could steal your signature or you could actually be signing something you have no intention to sign. You spend your whole life being told to be cautious of this and yet now this wack process is becoming more and more frequent. And not only do they not read the document, they just sum it all up. What's the point of even having a signature at this point?

Dr. Fox, the primary dentist, unfortunately displays an aloof and sometimes condescending demeanor. This attitude is particularly concerning in a pediatric practice where a warm, reassuring presence is crucial. The practice does offer some child-friendly amenities like toys in the waiting area, Disney movies playing during procedures, and the no cavity club with tiny plastic toys, but these small comforts don't compensate for the larger issues. Their hours are inconvenient: Monday through Thursday: 8:00am - 4:00pm? PPS schools this fall 2024 will start as early as 7:15am, which will make it even more difficult for us working parents to get there. It was already difficult enough. Sprout's fees are excessively high, especially considering the quality of care. They seem to price themselves as if they were a cutting-edge, boutique dental office in an upscale area, which is far from the reality of Portland and their facilities. This disconnect between price and value is stark and disappointing. A major concern arose when they made an error with my younger child's filling. This mistake was recently discovered and corrected by another dentist, who not only charged less but also used more advanced technology. This incident seriously undermined my confidence in Sprouts' competence and honesty. I've also noticed a tendency to push for unnecessary treatments. For instance, they tried to sell us on dental sealants for both kids, despite them being advised that they had very recently received sealants through a school program. This kind of upselling feels unethical, especially in healthcare. My advice to other parents: 1. Scrutinize your bills carefully. 2. Don't feel pressured to immediately agree to suggested treatments. 3. For any significant procedures, always seek a second opinion. 4. Be aware that there are other local dentists offering superior care at more reasonable prices. We've since switched to a new dental practice that provides excellent care without the inflated costs or questionable practices. It's a relief to have found a dentist we can trust, both in terms of quality care and fair pricing. With better hours, too! In conclusion, while Sprouts may have some surface-level appeal, the combination of high costs, questionable competence, and pushy sales tactics make it a practice I can no longer recommend in good conscience. Our children's dental health is too important to compromise on quality or ethics.

I came in for a crown procedure and could not be more pleased with my experience here! If you have…read moreany kind of dental fears, this is the place for you! The staff is so supportive and accommodating and they really know how to communicate to their patients what to expect in a way that the patient will understand. I had cracked a filling and they were able to get me in a day later. They explained to me over the phone in a patient and clear way how to take care of the tooth in the meantime. When I was able to come in, they examined my tooth and explained clearly and patiently that I would need a crown. I shared with them my fears (I have A LOT of dental trauma) they were able to explain to me how this experience would be different and better. Dr. Dar was able to calm my fears and when I said I was leaving for vacation that evening and wouldn't be back for a week - he explained clearly why it would be ok to wait to put in the temporary crown for when I returned. I came back for the temporary crown procedure and was so scared but they turned on Great British Backing show, numbed me until I could confidently say I didn't feel anything and began drilling. They moved quickly and it was clear they all cared about each other too as they chatted about weekend plans which was so comforting for me! Then they gave me 3 ibuprofen and 1 Tylenol and told me to go ahead and take it before the numbing wears off and that research shows that combo is best for pain relief which was reassuring. They said if I had any pain that kept me up at night to call them and they would get me back in but I didn't! For the following two weeks I had no pain at all! Then I returned for my permanent crown and they were very honest about how this procedure might cause a little pain because of the cold sealant they would need to use to permanently hold the crown. But they gave me something to squish with my hands and turned on Bob Ross and again moved quickly and confidently through the procedure. This part was slightly painful but nothing compared to what I've experienced in the past and was prepared for because of their clear communication. The whole procedure took about a half hour! Then they sent me home with another 3 ibuprofen and 1 Tylenol - I took it right away and had no pain the rest of the day. I experienced the slightest discomfort later that evening but nothing that kept me up at night and when I woke up the next morning the pain was gone. Here I am a day later and zero pain at all!!!! Just the slightest cold sensitivity but it's very manageable. I am so grateful for their thoughtful and encouraging staff! Heavenly and Dr Dar were amazing to work with. So patient and compassionate and created a welcoming environment! You will get quality care here.
