Grateful that my insurance is accepted here so it's also been affordable, too. Getting an appointment isn't too tough, though cleanings can be a few months out if you need to reschedule a standing date, but they also have a last minute appointment wait list and they can reach out to you via text, so getting something sooner isn't hard as long as you have some flexibility. I've moved a couple of times in my life and when going to a new dentist I've always gotten "you have a cavity" where they were trying make extra money from me. Those sort of diagnoses were always suspicious because I've never had any problems with my teeth, so when I was back in town I would always seek a second opinion from Lofstrom, where he would calmly say everything is fine and explain the game the other dentists were playing. Lofstrom used to be a teacher at U of M dental and has taught most of the other surgeons in town their stuff. Bottom line is if you want a good dentist/surgeon, he is the guy to go to.

But I have to say, the COVID precautions at Oak Valley Dental are top-notch. They make sure you're not mingling with other patients as you move through the waiting area to your exam room. Each exam room has an air filter scrubbing the air. My hygienist and dentist are both vaccinated (as am I) and were double-masked. And they streamline the bill paying so you're not waiting at the front desk for payment to process. I was impressed both with how they adapted to the pandemic and to see that the first-rate skill and service I've come to expect from them had not suffered. And I can now relax back into my pre-pandemic 6-month schedule. Whoo-hoo!!

You never have the feeling that there are too many clients at one time like other dentist offices I have tried. She allows you the time to feel at ease and chat a bit, which is always nice. From many years going to the dental school as a patient, I learned a lot about dentistry and like to know what is going on with my choppers. I really appreciate a dentist that has a good rapport with their patients, not just swooping in to hastily shove something in your mouth, while you sit waiting for him/her. I would enjoy some music playing there. It makes the dentist experience a bit easier. WNIC is perfect. A former dentist (in a year that I had Blue Cross ACA Dental Care) had it playing.
