Provident Dentistry overtreat patients. You are forced to get a full set of X-Rays taken even for a cleaning procedure. Even when you express concerns about radiation exposure on your head they do not listen, and they argue that the radiation is minimal, and X-Rays are required every 2 years. Why would anyone want to risk being radiated in their head and mouth every 2 years as a preventive measure? This is only because the X-Rays are covered by the insurance and they take every opportunity they get to charge insurance companies for treatment that is not necessary. Yesterday my daughter was expressly denied the cleaning service by one of the doctors in the Novi office if we did not agree to have the X-Rays taken. To avoid embarrassment for her, I agreed to have the X-Rays taken and have my insurance being billed for it, but we will never come back for cleaning or for any other procedure. They have just lost 3 clients. read more

While I never like going to the dentist, they at least make it the best possible experience as possible, and that can't be said for other dentists I've visited. I had not been back to visit my dentist in a while. Hesitant about the pandemic. I felt very comfortable going in today. The office is always clean and you're greeted by a smiling face at the front office. The wait is never long. My hygienist Tiffanie came to take me back and she was very delightful and professional. My comfort level was immediately raised with her. She explained everything thoroughly prior to whatever she was doing. She was conversational, friendly and gentle. My mouth felt great afterwards. My dentist, Dr Saywa is always pleasant and the best! She makes sure everything is complete! She is determined to get you the smile, I absolutely respect and trust her. 3/6/2020: In response to the "owner" of Provident: The reason why I didn't respond to your email and/or phone call is because I don't believe that a company should buy good reviews, and/or remove bad reviews for monetary compensation (see picture of email I received). It's unfortunate that you run a company based on creating a false image that is deceitful to current and potential new customers. When we moved to this area in 2012 we looked for a dentist that was friendly, honest, provided excellent care, and also accommodated our work schedule. We tired two other dentists before using Provident which met all of the criteria we were looking for. After 3 years passed, we noticed a change in customer service and attitude. Here is a list of issues we had with them when we used them for 5 years: * I personally have had excellent teeth and suddenly had a whole bunch of issues with my teeth. It seemed that every year I would have a cavity somewhere new that needed to be filled. * At a cleaning appointment, I was informed to have an x-ray, and I stated I didn't want one due to unnecessary exposure to radiation. One of the dentists came over stating there's not much radiation so what's the problem? He was trying to guilt me into getting an x-ray. * I had to go back 4 different times to get a bite guard for Bruxism (grinding teeth) since the ones provided broke in as little as a week. They stated that no other customer has broken any of the guards they provided, and reluctantly got one made outside of their office. * I had to go back 3 different times to get a front cap put in since the first one did not fit correctly, and the coloring was wrong. I had to go next door to Ramsey Dental to see if they could fix the coloring. * My wife was informed to get a crown and the following day after the procedure, the crown fell out. She called the 24/7 emergency phone number, left and message of the issue, and received a voicemail message to call back during normal business hours. After the third trip of unsuccessful completion of work, we decided to go somewhere else to get this procedure completed. And they still billed us for the service, even though the service was not completed. From our personal experiences, it seems like they try to build a report and then take advantage by finding other "issues" to bill you more than just a yearly cleaning. I would not recommend this place to anyone as it seems their service, honesty, and care for customers has diminished over the years. read more

They tend to lean more liberal on filling cavities. They insisted I fill all four sites when they weren't necessarily needing to be filled then. Conservative and less intrusive dentists, in my opinion, care about you and your teeth more as teeth can only be drilled into a limited number of times. I had a bad filling done by the dentist there. It hurt immediately after and they offered to grind it down. That did not help. Because white fillings on posterior teeth is a highly technical process- the sealing and setting can lead to problems. This happened to me and they agreed to remove the filling and replace it with a temporary filling. However the huge problem I had was they couldn't get me numb. I was crying so they didn't remove all of the filling which is critical when the filling was put in wrong. I went to another dentist and now I have to get a root canal. Bottom line newer dentists are trying to move too fast and get paid. They have not checked up on me. This has been a huge stressor in my life. read more

Our Family has gone to Provident Dentistry for years. We have been very happy with the dentist. But when you have to deal with the office manager and billing watch out. Helen who is not only unprofessional, rude and not willing to work with you can be a big burden in your side. We are now looking for another dentist. Too bad the dentist have no idea how many long term customers they loose. read more
