I'm reviewing the catering truck. I ordered the tenders and waffles and they are pretty good. The chicken is nice and crispy almost flaky and not too thick with the batter which is great! The only thing I would say is be prepared to wait! I experienced a long wait time even though I was about the third person in line when they opened the window. I don't know if that's the experience all the time. I also felt that the price was a little more than what I would have wanted and probably would have chosen something else. However, the chicken was good though! The waffles... Are delicious! Crispy almost through and through! It's good for mandatory food. BrewWings is a food truck. I found them perched outside of Bottle Logic Brewing, and in times like these of the pandemic, you gotta order food in order to have beer, so I did. I went with the Chicken Wings ($11.87), Tebasaki (aka Asian style). They were nice. The meat had the typical chicken wing flavor and remained moist while being properly cooked. The sauce landed in that sweet-but-not-too-sweet zone as expected of a typical Asian wing sauce. So yes, I enjoyed every bite. The carrots and celery along with the ranch dip were fresh and tasted as expected. My issue: portion/price ratio. [EDIT because owner noted that I may have miscounted.] With 5 wings in the order, that's pretty much $2.40 a wing. They're not even huge wings or anything, just standard size. I get that food trucks are more expensive because I've bought from plenty of them over the years, but surely this one can spare one or two extra wings in the order. I love wings...and am a total sucker for food truck. However, I'm conflicting about this one. 1/2 dozen chicken wings with fried tots $15 which is pretty spendy. The wings are just ok, sweet batter but not crispy. Fried tots are tasty but not memorable. Service is friendly and pleasant. The waffles come three ways - with sugar and syrup, syrup and caramel, and syrup with chocolate. Trying to tell me that "it's butter" is insulting. I cook with butter. I use ghee,.. we use Normandy butter if we get lucky. Orange/red oil is not butter. I cook with all sorts of meat and sausages. I know that paprika makes for red oil from sausages,. Chili powder,.. which is why we always drain them before serving. Chorizo makes red oil and grease - I do not pretend it's butter. Every day Alosta Brewing Company is open (they are only open Thursday through Sunday), they always have a featured food vendor since they only serve drinks and no food. I ended up purchasing: Half Order of Jumbo Wings (6 pieces), $10 (includes tax)- Complementary carrot sticks and celery sticks, along with ranch dressing was served along side these 6 jumbo wings. These wings were just average at best. I have definitely had better at other places. I think the only thing going for this order is that these wings are bigger than your typical chicken wings. I visited the Brewwings food truck at First Friday's this past week. I got the Kickin Chicken sandwich with tots and boy was it good. First of all, I'm lactose intolerant but the cheese didn't stop me from enjoying this sandwich. For some reason, I thought that this would be a fried chicken burger-type of sandwich but it isn't. It was an actual sandwich with sandwich bread and chopped up chicken instead. That being said, it didn't detract from how good the sandwich was. The chicken was moist and flavorful and it wasn't too cheesy or spicy (from the jalapeños). I would totally come again and order this same thing. The gator tots were your standard tots. Nothing special about them; I personally would say to save your money and not get the tots and something else from the menu. 9.5/10 so if you see this food truck anywhere near you definitely don't hesitate to go try it out! read more

Last week at the LA Beer week festival out of the 7 food trucks there I gave this one a shot because I wasn't in the mood for over priced "gourmet" burgers or random sea food from a truck on a hot 90+ degree day. These guys had a simple enough menu and for what you got the price wasn't bad especially considering how most food truck food is over priced. I kept it simple & got a half order of chicken tenders & a Belgium waffle. The food was good, satisfied my hungry. I did assume since I got the tenders instead of regular wings that Id be getting plain chicken strip to dip in the BBQ or ranch they had available. The tenders come in buffalo sauce, no complaints really but they were drowned in buffalo sauce. For actual buffalo wings the more sauce the better but for chicken strips all that extra sauce just soaks into the breading & makes them sort of soggy after 15 minutes or so. Overall nothing life changing but if they're out somewhere you are & you have a craving for chicken you should check them out. read more

There food truck came to my work location which was nice for me to be able to try there foods. They did run out of chicken tenders when it was my turn to order so I had the wings with tater tots and the grilled chicken on top of tater tots with cheese, bacon, and jalapeno. It was not spicy and the grilled chicken was packed with flavor. The chicken wings has three sauces: Asian Sauce, BBQ, or buffalo, as I chose the bbq, it was very wet and messy. Had the opportunity to eat at Brew Wings a few weeks ago when they were at The Bruery in Placentia. They could be great. It took almost 2 hours for them to open, which was 2 hours after the Bruery opened. When they finally opened, we ordered the grilled cheese and the loaded tots with chicken. We waited another 30 to 40 minutes for our food to be ready and the tots were done about 10 minutes before the grilled cheese. The tots were fantastic, covered in jalapenos, cheese, chicken and bacon. The tots were crispy and piping hot, not greasy. The grilled cheese was spicy and equally fantastic. The bread was perfectly browned and crunchy, while the cheese was gooey. Each bite was scrumptious. Based on the food, they knocked it out of the park and would have had 5 stars easily, but the slowness to open, the slowness in getting our food and the employees on the truck this day, just didn't seem motivated to get food out quickly, it was all slow motion. I've seen this truck parked outside the Long Beach Performing Arts Theater a few times for events and I finally tried it out yesterday during the Long Beach Tree Lighting event. Since my boyfriend's apartment is right next to the event, we decided to come pick up some food and walk back. The wait to order was horrendous, but we still waited about 30 minutes since this was the most popular truck. The two of us ordered about $27 worth of food, but in our books it wasn't even worth $2. The grilled cheese wasn't even a grilled cheese, it was more like a shredded cheese sandwich. We were able to actually see the shreds of cheese and the sandwich itself was cold. The wings were the worst of all - half the order was inedible because in the words of Gordon Ramsay... "this chicken is f*cking RAW!" I love wings, so I figured I would check them out... $11 for the signature wings... not bad the picture shows around 10 wings... seems like a good deal. It's nigh impossible to go wrong when you serve tots covered in bacon and cheese. The menu at BrewWings is everything someone with the drunchies would crave, and I was excited to encounter the truck at Angel City Brewery. From chicken wings, to chicken and waffles, loaded fries and tots, there is nothing remotely healthy on the menu, which is what attracted Rogelio G and I in the first place. We ordered loaded fries and tots, and shared some wings and chicken and waffles with friends. The food was great but it took 20 minutes for a single order of fries to come out, and one of our orders was messed up, so it took another 20 minutes to fix, and they weren't very nice about it either. It was just too much for my inebriated and hangry self to endure, and by the time the rectified order came out, half our food was cold. After notifying BrewWings about the mishap, I did receive a sincere apology--they definitely value customer service! The loaded tots were sinfully delicious. The chicken wings were tasty and traditional. The chicken strip with the waffle could have used more seasoning, but had good texture. I had the honor of eating BrewWings one day while I was in LA. It was THE best chicken I've ever had in my life. It's been awhile, but I think I got some chicken and waffle combo. I have NEVER liked chicken and waffles nor waffles in general.. but as I waited in line at the food truck, people were raving about how amazing the waffles are. The name made me think there was going to be brewskies (beer) and wings, but I re-thought, well that couldn't be right to serve alcohol from a food truck at work? They are slow. Here's the thing, you basically make two things (fried chicken and fried potatoes of the tot or fry variety) so when it's busy just keep the fryer going. Like say Friday during peak happy hour times. Just keep frying. It'll work. No need for my order to take 20 minutes. Keep them dice rolling. I was in Playa Vista tonight for a free movie in the park with 6 different food trucks. At first site I thought Brew Wings was just wings boy was I wrong. Let me start with...good wings. Here's what I like about them...it's buffalo wings with toppers! It took a sec (and a very helpful server guy) to explain it. $2 for a topping, $4 for unlimited so guess which I chose! He also said I could split them and get creative...so I did. 1/2 were with Doritos & jalapeño and 1/2 were with maple syrup and bacon! And both were delicious. It took him a sec to figure out how to key it all in, but he figured it out. He was so impressed he asked to take photos for their site. I'm a creative genius! Way too expensive for what you get. 2 of my 5 pieces of chicken were under cooked. Pink center w/ red blood. Thrown right in the trash. Ok, once you get over the fact that food truck food isn't cheap, you'll realize it's because it's really good. Had the buffalo wings with blue cheese crumbles-very good. I'm not sure if my ability to handle spicy food has increased, but these didn't seem very spicy. Tasty, medium spice. Now the loaded sweet potato fries with jalapeño-that's spicy! Definitely had me reaching for a beer. Since I'm a trash mama I got two orders of regular sweet potato fries for my daughter and called it dinner. Let's just say she isn't complaining. I'm low carb virtuous (just had the fries toppings) so we also had the fried cheese topped pepperoni. Didn't want to like it as much as I did. So there you have it, great wings, fries, and pepperoni.
