I found them perched outside of Bottle Logic Brewing, and in times like these of the pandemic, you gotta order food in order to have beer, so I did. I went with the Chicken Wings ($11.87), Tebasaki (aka Asian style). They were nice. The meat had the typical chicken wing flavor and remained moist while being properly cooked. The sauce landed in that sweet-but-not-too-sweet zone as expected of a typical Asian wing sauce. So yes, I enjoyed every bite. The carrots and celery along with the ranch dip were fresh and tasted as expected. My issue: portion/price ratio. [EDIT because owner noted that I may have miscounted.] With 5 wings in the order, that's pretty much $2.40 a wing. They're not even huge wings or anything, just standard size. I get that food trucks are more expensive because I've bought from plenty of them over the years, but surely this one can spare one or two extra wings in the order. I'll order from BrewWings again if I have to, and I'll likely enjoy what I get, but they offer nothing unique to wings or to food trucks and therefore can be missed. read more

I love wings...and am a total sucker for food truck. However, I'm conflicting about this one. 1/2 dozen chicken wings with fried tots $15 which is pretty spendy. The wings are just ok, sweet batter but not crispy. Fried tots are tasty but not memorable. Service is friendly and pleasant. I visited the Brewwings food truck at First Friday's this past week. I got the Kickin Chicken sandwich with tots and boy was it good. First of all, I'm lactose intolerant but the cheese didn't stop me from enjoying this sandwich. For some reason, I thought that this would be a fried chicken burger-type of sandwich but it isn't. It was an actual sandwich with sandwich bread and chopped up chicken instead. That being said, it didn't detract from how good the sandwich was. The chicken was moist and flavorful and it wasn't too cheesy or spicy (from the jalapeños). I would totally come again and order this same thing. The gator tots were your standard tots. There food truck came to my work location which was nice for me to be able to try there foods. They did run out of chicken tenders when it was my turn to order so I had the wings with tater tots and the grilled chicken on top of tater tots with cheese, bacon, and jalapeno. It was not spicy and the grilled chicken was packed with flavor. The chicken wings has three sauces: Asian Sauce, BBQ, or buffalo, as I chose the bbq, it was very wet and messy. I'm reviewing the catering truck. I ordered the tenders and waffles and they are pretty good. The chicken is nice and crispy almost flaky and not too thick with the batter which is great! The only thing I would say is be prepared to wait! I experienced a long wait time even though I was about the third person in line when they opened the window. I don't know if that's the experience all the time. I also felt that the price was a little more than what I would have wanted and probably would have chosen something else. Last week at the LA Beer week festival out of the 7 food trucks there I gave this one a shot because I wasn't in the mood for over priced "gourmet" burgers or random sea food from a truck on a hot 90+ degree day. These guys had a simple enough menu and for what you got the price wasn't bad especially considering how most food truck food is over priced. I kept it simple & got a half order of chicken tenders & a Belgium waffle. The food was good, satisfied my hungry. I did assume since I got the tenders instead of regular wings that Id be getting plain chicken strip to dip in the BBQ or ranch they had available. The tenders come in buffalo sauce, no complaints really but they were drowned in buffalo sauce. For actual buffalo wings the more sauce the better but for chicken strips all that extra sauce just soaks into the breading & makes them sort of soggy after 15 minutes or so. I've seen this truck parked outside the Long Beach Performing Arts Theater a few times for events and I finally tried it out yesterday during the Long Beach Tree Lighting event. Since my boyfriend's apartment is right next to the event, we decided to come pick up some food and walk back. The wait to order was horrendous, but we still waited about 30 minutes since this was the most popular truck. The two of us ordered about $27 worth of food, but in our books it wasn't even worth $2. The grilled cheese wasn't even a grilled cheese, it was more like a shredded cheese sandwich. We were able to actually see the shreds of cheese and the sandwich itself was cold. The wings were the worst of all - half the order was inedible because in the words of Gordon Ramsay... "this chicken is f*cking RAW!" The edible pieces of wings were not fried to perfection like others say; it tasted like it's been sitting out for hours and had zero crisp to it at all. As I wrote this, I kept flip flopping between 1 star and 2 star, but because I received raw wings from a truck that's supposed to specialize in wings, it's a big giant no go for me. Had the opportunity to eat at Brew Wings a few weeks ago when they were at The Bruery in Placentia. They could be great. It took almost 2 hours for them to open, which was 2 hours after the Bruery opened. When they finally opened, we ordered the grilled cheese and the loaded tots with chicken. We waited another 30 to 40 minutes for our food to be ready and the tots were done about 10 minutes before the grilled cheese. The tots were fantastic, covered in jalapenos, cheese, chicken and bacon. The tots were crispy and piping hot, not greasy. The grilled cheese was spicy and equally fantastic. The bread was perfectly browned and crunchy, while the cheese was gooey. Each bite was scrumptious. Based on the food, they knocked it out of the park and would have had 5 stars easily, but the slowness to open, the slowness in getting our food and the employees on the truck this day, just didn't seem motivated to get food out quickly, it was all slow motion. Another day another LA food truck, and as a real wing aficionado I can confidently say that while BrewWings dishes up good wings and nuggets they didn't blow me away. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? It's hard to judge a food truck on it's service and atmosphere, but I'll say that Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? Food trucks generally tend to be on the expensive side, and BrewWings continues that trend. As you'll see in my picture below, I received five boneless tenders that most would consider on the small side. Those tenders ran me $10.00, or $2.00 each, which seems a bit steep. Sure, they came with generous sides of carrots and celery, but all in all I felt that I could have had better value. It's a close one here, but not bad enough to have me withholding stars. Single Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? The tenders themselves were really good, with a nice and crisp outer layer that encased some juicy and flavorful chicken. I had the honor of eating BrewWings one day while I was in LA. It was THE best chicken I've ever had in my life. It's been awhile, but I think I got some chicken and waffle combo. I have NEVER liked chicken and waffles nor waffles in general.. but as I waited in line at the food truck, people were raving about how amazing the waffles are. Then my friend gave me a bite and I was sold. I ordered myself the combo and I was loving life for the next 30 minutes of my meal. My review for BrewWings has been long overdue. It was only a few months ago when I had my first encounter with the bright orange food truck that was parked near my work. The name made me think there was going to be brewskies (beer) and wings, but I re-thought, well that couldn't be right to serve alcohol from a food truck at work? Haha... but they do have root beer and cold brewed coffee! I am usually not one to turn down the chance to try hot wings so of course I had to place an order! That was embarrassing, but I truly was going to write a review after confirming the owner's name b/c I wanted to say that it was a cool experience to actually meet the man behind the dream that has now become a reality. The truck has been parked in Downtown Disney several times. Tonight I decided that I would give it a try after my shift since I'm a huge wings and chicken fan. The line wasn't too long. Put in an order for the Chicken and Tots after reading some of the reviews. Total came out to be $15.00 The food came out pretty quick and smelled great! Service was extremely friendly and I left the truck feeling good. I tried the tots first - delicious! There wasn't anything really unique about them, but they were still tasty regardless. When it came time for the chicken on the other hand...meh. The fried chicken was bland. Felt like they forgot the seasoning on it and because of that it felt like a huge disappointment. For $15.00 I was expecting exploding flavors - especially with the good reviews on here. Though I will say, it was cooked decent. The chicken was tender. Tried them at a KLOS event at The Viper Room and really enjoyed the food. I ordered the chicken tots without Jalapenos and my husband ordered boneless chicken and waffles. very good, fresh food. The chicken tots had some spice to it bit so good. The chicken amd waffles were tasty as well. Good sweetness on the waffles and the breading on the chicken was not thick but a great complement to the chicken. Definitely something I would order again. read more
