We went to the pier for my parents anniversary and we looked around at the restaurants. The first one we looked at was packed, so we decided to go here. We really liked it, this is a good place. It has a nice atmosphere and our server was friendly. We all got the fish and chips and it was pretty good. The fries were nice and crispy, the fish had a light fishy taste to it and the batter was crunchy. The Tatar sauce went well with the fish. I had the bread pudding for dessert and it was really good. I definitely recommend going here, this is a nice place with good food.

Meh. Ordered an old Fashioned, skip the formalities and just order a whisky in the rocks. The presentation was pretty but tasted nothing like an Old Fashioned. Fried green tomatoes tasted like fried nothingne. Shrimp tacos were good but came with a side of grey black beans. Creepy and also yuck Veggie stir fry with rice noodles. Boring Service was great, server was lovely and attentive.

Plenty of space to sit. There are a ton of beers on tap. I love the variety of types of beers. We got onion rings and they came out within minutes. The bartenders are friendly and ready with suggestions. We took a purple cup out and sat in the courtyard by a fire place and listened to live music. Great atmosphere!

I LOVE this new watering hole in Guntersville's newly opened City Harbor area. The place is spacious and offers indoor and outdoor seating. They offer a really good selection of beers, bar drinks, and a good sized menu for a bar. I enjoyed my visit and was visited by several of the friendly staff (I didn't reveal I was doing a review). I ordered a beer, following by a flight and a wonderful Fish and Chips made with Mahi Mahi and the chips were waffle fries, not traditional, but REALLY good. All the dining areas were clean as was the restroom. When in Guntersville, this should be on your areas to visit for sure!

Great beer!

Great beer and location. Motor up with your boat, tie up at the floating docks and walk over and get some fabulous craft beer. Great pub food as well. Such an upgrade for Guntersville and a new destination stop for boaters. The staff is so friendly and helpful. Service was great and I went there three times in the first week they opened and had a great time. The patio is fabulous.

So much potential here. Clean and comfortable facility. Want this business to succeed and to enjoy dining out and bringing guests. Please try to improve long wait times (45 min) with only a handful of tables occupied. Fish should not be overdone in fish & chips. Will give it another try and update if we have a better experience.

Sorority sister and I came to Brewers Cooperative last night in hopes of having dinner and a drink…read more She told me "they had a new chef," so, despite a crappy previous experience, I was willing to try again. Honestly, it looks like this place is going out of business. There was no host or hostess and a sign at the entrance said to "seat yourself and order from the bar." There was one bartender, and maybe four people in line to order from the bartender. This location is really sizeable and was maybe half filled with furnishings (2-tops and 4-tops), a small assortment or merchandise to the right of the entrance, and nearly zero staff or patrons. Sorority sister managed to get a couple of menus and we sat at the bar without being greeted for several minutes before deciding to leave. It's a shame this concept could not execute (everything - food quality, food execution, service, and drinks) better and hopefully, a replacement restaurant will open in this (like I said) really sizeable location in Stovehouse.

2.5 really cause the food tasted okay, but I dunno, this was such an underwhelming experience…read more Came here by myself after a long hot day of work about two weeks ago. It was around 1:45 on a Wednesday, and there were a couple people enjoying a beer or an appetizer but it was mostly slow. This spacious brewery/restaurant boasts a lot of indoor and outdoor seating and a small merchandise/gift shop with branded items and beer, of course. They had the door and a couple of windows open and I thought it was fairly hot inside, but not intolerable. I happened to walk in right behind a party of three. We all sort of milled around at the entrance by a sign that said to wait for a hostess to seat you. Eventually, someone came by and picked up the other party. Not being affiliated with them, I held my place and stood around patiently. After several minutes of waiting, the woman at the bar gave me a sort of funny look and asked me if I was with the group that had been seated a few minutes prior. I told her no and that it was just me and she apologized and said I could sit wherever I liked. I selected a hi-top near the bar and sat down. Since it seemed like waitstaff were supposed to bring menus/take orders, I sat around waiting for a while again. I wasn't in a huge hurry but I did want to get home so I could do some schoolwork and so I pulled up the menu on my phone so I could be prepared to order when someone did get to me. Well, after several more minutes, no one ever did come up to give me a menu or take food/drink order. I was very thirsty from my hot day and so I wandered up to the bar to at least get a soda. The bartender who spoke to me earlier was friendly and personable and apologetic about no one coming out to me. She seemed surprised that I wanted something to eat, but amicably took my order at the bar for the "Ultimate Grilled Cheese," a side of Old Bay fries, and a Diet Pepsi (or Coke...can't remember which). The total before tip was right around $20, which felt...high, but I decided to reserve judgment until I actually saw my food. She went immediately to grab my drink from a fountain and gave it a sort of disapproving look. She said that the soda didn't look right to her but for me to try it and see if it tasted like the ratios were off. They were off (way too much soda water) and she apologized and went to a different machine to try again. The second attempt was fine. My food came out quickly and I was honestly immediately miffed at the size of the serving for the price I paid. Don't get me wrong; I generally think restaurant portion sizes are too large and I have no problems with a smaller meal. However, I do like to think the price would reflect the smaller meal size. I will say the fries were only $2, so that seemed appropriate for the amount I was given, but the sandwich was like $13 and it was the size of a standard grilled cheese I'd make at home. Like, maybe $1.50 worth of ingredients. My meal was about as much as a Mac Melt at Melt costs and that comes with way more fries and macaroni and cheese inside sizeable slices of bread rather than just a wimpy sandwich. Hardly ultimate. The food itself was fine, I guess; at least it didn't taste bad. Extremely standard grilled cheese but executed well. Fries were frozen-fried and you could tell; kind of limp and mealy. The Old Bay seasoning at least was unique and enjoyable. I ate my food in like 10 minutes flat and returned my dish to the bar and was on my way. Not the worst food or service I've ever had, and I suppose I'd give them another try, but I can't say I was terribly impressed on my first visit.

I try not to judge a book by its cover, but I was skeptical to mix the Gobble N' Guzzle (dark lager) with a poor attempt at poutine. However, I was feeling it that day and went ahead at the confirmation of the bartender that the poutine was "pretty good" (insert skepticism). The exec chef indeed knows what he is doing. What I was greeted with was a heaping helping of crispy, skin-on fries, REAL cheese curds (not just melted BS cheese), and a thick/umami-loaded gravy that was crafted with love and all the right flavors and aromatics. The end result was a savory symphony that would give way to the dark ale as it washed the fat and flavor from my palate for me to take a breather before the next forkful (or 4... maybe more). The beer is also good (since it IS a brewery)... but that portion of the reputation precedes itself. Ranging from their flagship IPA to the dark lager I had, to the crisp pilsner, they boast a wide variety of beers that anyone who enjoys beer can find something to savor while ideally shoveling this totally legit Canadian treasure (the OG MTL style was my choice) into their gullet. I'LL BE BACK (in Arnold's voice of course)... sooner rather than later ideally. If you are looking for a beer destination with food to match, Straight to Ale will not disappoint. They have all the beers and upscale bar eats you could want. I give my seal of approval to this former school-turned culinary and culture hot spot. It's nice to see space repurposed or renovated to meet the needs and wants of the surrounding area, and they nailed it with STA.

Had the monkeynaut amongst other beers and it was the best of the batch. For lunch I wanted a pork kimchi and chicken jerk. They won't split it, but I was with someone so we ordered and spilt the tacos. The pork kimchi was the better of the two. The pork was tender, well seasoned and had a good hint of spice from the jalapeno and kimchi. The jerk chicken was ok, the chicken was a tad on the dry side and it could have used a little heat. Cool place.

We have loved their Blood Orange Berliner Weisse for years and have always said we needed to make it to the brewery. Today was the perfect chance. It was a Sunday afternoon, and luckily, they were open. There were just a few people, but as they day progressed, more trickled in. Michelle, the beertender, at the time was great. She suggested all sorts of beers based on my taste and let me sample them all. One suggestion she had was to mix the Mango with the Blood Orange. It was really good. The two that I ended up drinking were the Duck River Dunkel and the ISB English Ale. I also liked that they had pretzels and popcorn as bar snacks. We met some really nice people and talked for a while. It reminded me of the old summer days when everyone would just sit and talk and enjoy life. It sure beat the fast-paced and scheduled life that goes on today.

My girlfriens and I were genuinely excited for Valentine's Day here, but for $135 per person, not including drinks, the experience was extremely disappointing. We expected top-quality service and atmosphere, but instead, we were squeezed into a tiny, cramped room with three other couples under dusty overhead lights. We were so close to the other couples we had to speak at an extremely low whisper not to interrupt or intrude on their conversation, especially since there was no overhead music to drown out the noise. To top off the lack of atmosphere, we actually received a phone call halfway through our meal telling us we would be paying a 'no-show fee' while we were already sitting there. The portion sizes were even more disappointing. I understand that fine dining portions can be small, but this was ridiculous. I had four raviolis for dinner, my grilfriend had a single crostini. Her meal could fit in the palm of her hand. We left the restaurant still hungry. Also, the service was lacking genuine kindness and care. When my girlfriend's Chocolate Crème Brûlée arrived tasting like ash, the server tried to explain to me what a Crème Brûlée was instead of listening to what I was saying. It was obvious that there was something wrong since mine tasted fine. We had to CONVINCE her that it was burnt and that I wasn't lying about the taste. After she "verified" it was true, there was no apology for the mistake, and a 20% automatic gratuity was still added onto the bill, not including the fact that my drink was largely empty for the night. I get it, its valentines day, the night gets busy. But the service we were given was nowhere near representative of a $100+ tip. Don't get me wrong, the food tasted amazing, but when we look online and it's obvious this place reduced their portion sizes and hiked up their prices just for Valentine's day it's hard to recommened them. We won't be back.

Unfortunately, our experience here fell pretty flat compared to everywhere else we visited. Right from the start, the service felt noticeably different for us than for other customers. We ordered four beers, but the bartender only served three. When we mentioned the missing drink, she insisted we hadn't ordered a fourth instead of simply double-checking or acknowledging she might have missed it. Only after we asked again did she pour it--no apology, no "my mistake," nothing. To make things even stranger, the Hefeweizen we ordered came in what looked like an 8 oz glass, which seemed off compared to what others were receiving. And while serving it, the bartender proceeded to talk about us to a man sitting at the bar--loud enough that it was pretty clear we were the topic. It was uncomfortable and honestly pretty disappointing. There was no warmth, no welcome, and absolutely no effort to make the experience enjoyable for us, even though we could see other customers being treated far more kindly. We really wanted to like this place, especially since it was recommended by family, but the service left us feeling singled out and unwelcome. Hopefully this was an off day, but based on our visit, we won't be rushing back.
