I have used Brewer Overhead Doors 2 times. The first time our garage wouldn't shut and then second time it wouldn't open. The first time, we were able to get the door working again. The second time, the garage wouldn't open even after a few days. Both times, Daniel was very responsive and was able to come out the next day or within a few hours. So grateful I/we found this business to replace our antiquated side-hinge, wooden monstrosity that shuddered until the left hinge completely severed when opening. We inherited this 1984 garage door edition when we bought the condo, and it didn't even last a year. Enter a chain of misfires with local garage door businesses that ultimately led us to the best one, Brewer Overhead Door. The guy from the first company (name rhymes with "Petite") came on time for an estimate but then spent 15 minutes bemoaning that he didn't know we were asking him to replace an old side-hinged door and letting us know he'd need to orchestrate something akin to a FEMA hurricane response to get rid of it. His rough estimate came in $1,000 higher than what Daniel and Brewer eventually charged. Then, the "Petite" garage guy never sent the formal estimate as promised and vanished. Never called back. Never offered to help us prop the broken door when he was out here, so we could at least extract a car (or two) until it was replaced. Then, I called a Roseville-based garage door business that I heard about on 96.9 "The Eagle" during my morning commutes. The radio spot was pretty convincing. I filled out their online work request and waited. And waited. I then called the main number listed on their website, but only got a recorded message telling me to leave a message. So, that roadblock led me to another search and the proverbial "third time's a charm." Daniel answered, and it did so during what sounded like his work on another job. He was out the same afternoon, propped the broken door open so we could get the cars out, and came through with a super reasonable estimate - again, $1,000 cheaper than the first guy, who had just ultimately flaked. The door looks great, and the opener's sound is so stealth compared to the old one. All that's left is to paint the door to the condo association's specs. Thank you, Daniel! Our townhouse complex in Novato was recently having a special pricing on new garage doors and Brewer Overhead Doors was used to do the job. Dan and his assistant(I think his wife or girlfriend) showed up a little after the time arranged, but pretty much on time. I had to work, so payed them and went to work and came home to a nice new door. I was a bit bummed that I could not turn on the garage door light without opening the door. I called Dan up and he told me that was an upgraded feature. Seems like an odd upgraded feature to use the garage door light, but oh well. He also said that he would be at the complex again in a couple of months and could change the switch for me. My garage door spring broke Tuesday night and after getting quotes Wednesday morning between fixing it (had other issues like a crack in steel starting and damage to the door from other times the spring has broken) or just replace it. We decide to replace the door. Dan was out later that day on Wednesday and put up the new door very professionally and efficiently.
