Supertiny BrewDog bar. Totally crowded on a Friday at five. Excellent burgers usually. A bit dry today. Try the nutty professor. Standard BrewDog range of beer, if you are used to BDB. If you are not, you will probably go bananas. Or nuts.

We ended up going to Brewdog twice in one day, we liked it so much! Not a far walk from the metro and nearby some other great food spots, Brewdog had the beer selection we couldn't find anywhere else. I tried the sour beer from the Hopinator on the counter - it was great. Sweet, sour and not too overwhelming. They had a good selection of craft beer and IPAs as well.

Current beer list. 24 Sept 2015.

We stopped by Brewdog for an afternoon beer (and, let's be honest, for the restroom--walking around all day as a tourist means you need to get creative!). The beer selection was interesting and excellent. Unlike other beer bars we explored on our trip, it did not favor Scandinavian brewers (what with Brewdog itself being a British outfit), but unless you're a tourist on the hunt for local beers, that's ok. They have one beer that they flavor themselves as an experiment; on our trip, it had cascade hops and pink grapefruit. Beers were expensive, but that's the case pretty much everywhere in Stockholm. At least here, they were also good beers. Important tip if you're using the bathroom: It's a pocket door. Yanking on the handle to pull it open won't work and you will look like a tool. Learn from my fails. Very chill and nearly empty in the mid-afternoon.

Brewdog is a great spot to hit up if you are looking for some craft beer in the area. Their menu was divided with their own brews, as well as some from a variety of other breweries. The staff were very friendly and open to giving advice on different types of beers they had on tap. I have only been to one other Brewdog in Shoreditch (London) and they both have completely different vibes from each other. They offer flights so it's a great option if there are a lot of beers on the menu that you haven't had before. The seating is a bit minimal if you end up going on a busier night, but its worth waiting out for a seat if it is busy. They have a variety of different burgers and sides to choose from (parm fries, mac and cheese, creamed corn), with the burgers being pretty inventive. Overall a great spot to go to to get your craft beer fix.

Superb bar with really good brews. They had a brew on tap that I did myself and it was a special moment to be able to compare the original to the (obviously inferior) homebrew :)

Great beer selection, waitors have a hard time speaking Swedish from time to time. But knowledgeable about Beer.

Great BrewDog outpost. Large space with excellent selection of beers and a casual atmosphere. Can't get much better, really.

This was our second traditional Swedish meatball experience and I found the meatballs here quite…read moredifferent from those at Blå Dörren (see separate review). These tasted like they were made with beef and pork, which is a more popular recipe than 100% beef. They were very soft, moist, and flavorful. But they didn't have the distinctly rich peppery taste and aroma like those from Blå Dörren. The brown gravy was creamy, rich, yummy but a bit sweet. As with every meatball dish that we saw in Sweden, they came with a side of lingonberries and mashed potato. We also ordered a pan-fried sea bass which was delicious - didn't I tell you that besides meatballs, Sweden (and Stockholm in particular) is well-known for their seafood? First off, the fish tasted very fresh. The skin was rubbed with rosé peppers and pan-fried to golden crispiness. The meat was soft and flavorful but without a hint of fishiness (good!). The yummy white wine sauce complemented the fish perfectly well. The entrée also came with sautéed baby white rose potatoes, sautéed baby vegetables, and a small tomato salad. They were served separately on the side (see picture).

Eken was a great find at the Hilton in Stockholm. I usually don't have much faith in hotel…read morerestaurants but this was an exception. First and foremost the service was great from the moment I entered the restaurant through my end of meal coffee. The waitress was attentive and knew exactly when to stop by my table. I had an appetizer in the Executive Lounge so I started with my main...the specialty of the house...a wonderful cod which was perfectly prepared. Not a thing wrong with the dish. Each dish on the menu came with a recommendation for a wine pairing, which I went with and was not disappointed. For those carb lovers out there, the bread basket was well appointed and came with whipped butter. Overall, a great meal and I would definitely come back for the cod, wine and service.
