From the minute we walked to the outside deck, staff super friendly, loved our dog. Casandra, hope I pronounced her name was our awesome waitress, suggested some nice drinks, nd water for our dog. Sweetheart. We started with peal and eat shrimp. Delicious. I had the summer scallops, yum, yum , nicely dome. Wiife had crab cakes, 2, good size, could hardly finish, all crab meat. We like this place so much we came back the following evening, same awesome waitress and a great band that was super friendly. Dog lovers also I had the crab mac & cheese and wife had crab legs. Falsely advertised hours? Went here on Tuesday when place was advertised to close at midnight- and not a Tuesday, like yesterday, like 1045/11 says the place was open and doors were locked. Are you closed at midnight? We left another place to come here because we saw it was open so this was super a fail. I had a pleasant experience here and would definitely return for the atmosphere and food. The environment is wonderful and makes for a very comfortable dining spot. My crabby burger had great flavor, I really enjoyed it. However, the meal was held back slightly by the bakery basket; the muffins and bread were unfortunately very dry and hard, which was a bit of a disappointment. They were served luke warm with cold margarine "dip" We were given warm butter upon request. My caeser salad that I was upcharged for was made with iceburg lettuce. Burgers were obviously pre-made frozen patties that weren't even seasoned. My son also pointed out that the glassware had not been washed properly by the back of house. Decided to try this restaurant based on it's location and some positive reviews. The weather was conducive to sit outside and enjoy the water view. That's the only reason to go there. The food was very disappointing. I ordered 6 oysters (see photo) that were losers. They were pathetically flat, hardly any flesh on them. Moving on I ordered a trio of shrimp salad, chicken salad, coleslaw over a bed of lettuce. In fairness the shrimp salad was tasty and offered nice bite size pieces of shrimp. The coleslaw was also well prepared. The chicken salad was difficult to describe. I did not find any chicken in the slop they served. (see photo). The mixture, was shredded to a thin strand of what was to be chicken mixed into a sauce that was tasteless. The crab imperial was a good choice. This restaurant did not live up to the hype as described in the reviews. Perhaps the other items on the menu would have been a better choice but, didn't appeal to me. Let me start by saying that the server was ok but everything else was subpar. I'm guessing this is a seafood restaurant because the kitchen doesn't know how to cook a burger or a steak. Both were dry and even though they were both supposed to be medium well, they were both crispy and altar burnt. The crab imperial was good though. As was the crab dip, but the bread served with our was hard and tasteless. We sat outside on the dock and someone from the bar came out and decided that it was ok to sit downwind of us and smoke a cigar. When I asked the server to fix this because my food tasted like cigars, he moved 1 table over. My food still tasted like cigars and now I had a headache. My first time eating here. I had lunch: cream of crab soup, a crab cake sandwich and fries. The soup was very tasty. And very filling. I would've been fine with soup and the rolls. The crabcake was cooked to perfection. A little shell. But overall a good lunch. Lunchtime is quiet. You can sit outside weather permitting. I would suggest fans and misters during summer. I get a prime rib my wife get the crab imperial.. this time the crabs imperial had a bad taste, spoil like taste.. so I've had it sent back, the manage(Megan) came out said all her crabs are up to date and should be perfect.. she didn't had a taste of what we tasted, so how does she know if it is eatable or not? They didn't charge us, but we insisted to pay for it anyway since we goes there weekly.. but for the manager to come out and argued that her food is good is ridiculous. When we approached the doors we were told it's $20 at the door, we decided it wasn't worth that so we turnt around and were greeted with a gentle man that told us to wait. We waited and two white females who had walked up after us were asked for ID then told to have a good night. They gained entry without paying. My husband and I are avid seafood and pasta lovers, so when a friend brought us the crab cake egg rolls from Brew River, we were beyond impressed. They were AMAZING and left us eager to visit the restaurant ourselves. On our first visit, I ordered the Seafood Alfredo and the Surf & Turf. Unfortunately, the Seafood Alfredo was incredibly bland--so much so that I had to take it home and "fix it up" to make it more enjoyable. Not everyone can nail Alfredo sauce, so I decided to give Brew River the benefit of the doubt and another chance. What initially drew us back was the restaurant's great vibe--the music, friendly staff, and beautiful outdoor scenery made for a welcoming experience. On my birthday (11/23), we returned and opted for the lunch special: snow crab legs with steamed shrimp and a shared portion of crab mac & cheese (the portion is huge, perfect for sharing). Sadly, the food was disappointing again. The crab mac & cheese was, once more, absolutely bland with no flavor. The shrimp hadn't been cleaned, which is unacceptable for any seafood restaurant. The crab legs were unseasoned--something as simple as Old Bay would have made a world of difference. Even the butter for dipping was just melted butter--no garlic, no seasoning, no effort. It's clear that this is not a restaurant for true seafood lovers. The food lacks love, care, and flavor. It feels as though the recipes are robotic and the chef is simply going through the motions, serving mediocrity on a plate. For a restaurant that should pride itself on seafood, the experience was deeply disappointing. The only redeeming qualities were the crab cake egg rolls and the muffins served when we were seated. Those two items were genuinely good, but they aren't enough to save the rest of the meal--or the restaurant as a whole. Food should be a labor of love; it's a universal language that brings people together to create memories and enjoy shared moments. Brew River failed to deliver on this most basic promise. I'm giving two stars--one for the egg rolls and one for the muffins--but unfortunately, we won't be returning. Tasteless food! We went 4 dinner to brew river on a Friday night. The place was not that crowded (surprisingly for a Friday night). The service was efficient. However, the piña colada was tasteless and so was the food. The mahi-mahi tacos tasted like paper, the blue cheese walnut salad ($13) with shrimp was overpriced..$7 for 4 shrimps added to the salad, it is unbelievable!...pity that the quality of the food at brew river has gone down... we used to like the place. read more

Both were good, though my son wasn't a huge fan of the nachos (picky eater). For our meals my son had Filet mignon with a baked potato and green beans, Wifey had the Fish tacos and I had the Brew Burger with shrimp, crab and scallops on it. My son's filet was a bit undercooked but otherwise we all enjoyed our meals. My burger was great, but really rich. My issues with the place was with our service. We had to ask for bread three times before we got any, our waitress forgot the green beans and the men's room was a mess (for real). While none of these would keep me from returning, if I were back in the area I'd probably try one of the other local joints. We had a very good dinner here last night. Nice ambiance and atmosphere was nice on the river. We were seated indoors although we requested a dock table (outdoors) since it was such a nice night. We started with mozzarella sticks which were pretty good and served with a delicious marinara sauce. A basket of sweet breads was served including coconut and blueberry mini muffins which were absolutely delish and a Babka like bread. We asked if we could get an order to go! My entree was the Broiled Sea Scallops. The portion size was large, not what I am used to getting which was a nice surprise! The scallops were fresh and tender but could have used just a bit more seasoning and browning. Served in a broth like thin sauce which was not very favorable-needs more butter and lemon and it would be delish! Served with two sides, I chose the loaded baked potato and a garden salad. Both were very good. My dining companions had the BBQ Danish ribs with mac& cheese and coleslaw which all were very tasty. This was an full rack of ribs here folks not the pseudo full racks! My nieces shared a perfectly cooked medium rare 16oz Rib Eye steak with a garden salad and the waffle fries. They enjoyed that very much. Our waitress was attentive and personable and never missed a beat. The view from the window was nice of the river and the Salisbury City RiverWalk is adjacent. We went to a concert at SU on Saturday night and kept searching for a restaurant that was open. Our fav places were closed. It was close to 10 pm When we tried to get into Brew River. We were greeted very rudely by some young guys outside the front door and were told we weren't allowed to go into the club. Also, one of the guys had blocked us in the parking lot which made it difficult to leave. I will never set foot in that restaurant again and will let all my friends know. read more
