    Peddle Trolly in action!
    Devon E.

I have been wanted to do this since I learned they opened up in GSO! When my 35th bday came up in June, I decided this was the perfect opportunity. I opted to pay to rent a private tour. This is a more pricy option ($350), but wanted the privacy. You can have up to 14 people, so split amongst friends it was like $27 a person with tax for the experience. This does not include any booze, just the guide and the peddle trolly that takes you to 3 stops in Downtown of your choosing. We were picked up by the Carolina Theatre and went to Boxcar, Next Door, and Stumbles. You have to do this in 2 hours, which is tight if you want to enjoy the stops. We actually ended up ditching the trolly at the last stop and staying at the bar instead of getting back on to the drop off. Honestly, you aren't on the peddler much, so some may say it's not worth it. But I had an absolute blast! I have lived in the area for years, but it was a great new way to experience Downtown. This was perfect for my birthday on a nice night (we did the Saturday evening slot). Especially with things just opening up after COVID restrictions, I was on cloud nine! Our guide was great- chill and let us have fun, but also made sure we were being safe. So some other details to note. You can bring whatever alcoholic or non drinks (no glass) and food you want. They have a cooler to put it in. The trolly has fun lights and the guide will play music from your phone or a playlist they have of your choosing. People will Hollar at you- so enjoy it and hollar back! Even with 14 "seats" only some can peddle as some seats are over the wheels and the back is a bench for 2. I liked being on the bench so I could see everyone. It's a bit intense when the trolly takes some of the hard turns, but I was just laughing and letting "Jesus take the wheel" or whatever. It does have seat belts. You don't have to peddle, but can for fun. I swore I would peddle the whole time, but absolutely dropped off as I drank more lol. This was super fun, and a great social and celebration option to consider. Also, this is a great way to support local businesses (Brew Peddlers and the bars you visit along the ride). I would and will absolutely do this again!

I'm not going to write much for this review because you need to experience this for yourself. We…read moredid the Rated-R Comedy History Tour and it was both informative and hilarious. It is BYOB on the bus and there is one stop for about 10-15 minutes during the 1.5 hour tour. We ended up grabbing a beer at the Accordion Club during our stop. This is a must do if you live close to the area or are visiting.

I checked out Bull City Laughs during their opening weekend. I was a little iffy at first because…read moreof the whole idea of comedy on a bus. But surprisingly, my friends and I had a blast! It's BYOB but there's a 15 minute at Louella's if you forget to bring something. **Let me just start by saying, if you're easily triggered or don't know how to take a joke, this tour is not for you** The comedian, "Trevor that only works on Sunday's" was hilarious. He started with roll call when we got on the bus and got to know a bit about each person. We rode the bus for about 2 hours learning about Durham. As a Durham transplant, I actually learned more than I thought I would. When the windows are down, it's a bit cold so make sure to bring a jacket! They ended up putting up the windows after our break and it was warm and cozy inside! Overall, I really enjoyed my time at the Bull City Laughs and I'd recommend to my friends.
