This is THE place for coffee and a bite in the morning! We visited some friends in Magna and came here several mornings. They offer a wide variety of hot and cold drinks and they have a good selection of breakfast foods as well. The cost is very reasonable! Much less than in Houston. I'll be back on my next trip for sure. I recommend the Monkey Toaster sandwich for breakfast!

While visiting from Texas, we tried a few of their specialty coffees, the monkey toaster, and a bagel with cream cheese. EVERYTHING was amazing!! Customer service was great! All this awesomeness is tucked away in a quaint little building that has a very cozy vibe.

I have to say first that I love the coffee at Brew Monkey and that most of the employees are nice and help in a timely manner but..... if I arrive to the drive thru close to 6:30 and the drive thru person isn't there no one will come to the window and take my order. The employees walk by and never look at you and leave you there waiting . I realized after this happened about 3x that the employee was late and they were making me wait there until she arrived to work. I mean WTH kind of service is that? Also when the owner comes to the window to take my order she acts so put out and acts like it a chore to help me . I order coffee from there every morning ,religiously, but, maybe it's time to find another coffee house?

Good coffee, but you need to not be in a hurry. Always super slow. Average of at least 10 min for one or two drinks.

Malu-Ixel coffee shop is a true gem! We saw this place on Google (it's been open for 5 months.) and…read morestopped in for breakfast and coffee. IT WAS AMAZING. The two women who own it and run it were so nice, friendly and very attentive. The inside is super cute! There is plenty of seating, and a clean bathroom. There is water and cups available in a water dispenser. They also have some beautiful, intricately beaded jewelry on display for sell. The menu is inspired with items from Guatemala and Mexico. And they add new items regularly. We tried the strawberry crepe (so many fresh strawberries, mouth-wateringly delicious), the breakfast burrito with a side of yummy green sauce and chips), the carinito latte (cinnamon, caramel and vanilla. So much cinnamon... it was truly heavenly), a matcha, and a peanut butter cocoa. They brought it to out table and cleaned it up. (Not an actual sit down and server style.) They used fancy looking silverware and everything had a lovely presentation that made me feel special. We will definitely come back!! We want to try everything!!! Looking forward to the Chilaquiles, Pacheco, quesadilla, and various unique coffees. Come give it a try, you will not be disappointed!!! (The area may be a little off to the side and out if the way. But you must give it a try!) I really want them to do well, and I hope they are successful.

When I saw a smoothie/cafe popped up on Magna main I was quite excited to give it a shot…read more Came today and got a raspberry lemon smoothie, buffalo chicken wrap, and strawberry Nutella crepes. Overall, as far as the food is concerned, it's okay. The wrap was average, and crepes I think were premade with fresh strawberries and Nutella added, and the smoothie was the highlight. It was light and refreshing. That said I wouldn't say any of that is bad. The prices are pretty low cost ($6 for crepes for example) and I don't think you necessarily come here for the absolute best food. You come here for a low priced treat, a refreshing drink, or a quick freshly made bite to eat. The service was top notch as well. We were asked multiple times if there was anything else we needed and the owner we spoke to was super friendly. The interior was also well decorated, clean, and modern (though I do wish there was at least one other low table and chairs as we had little kids with us.). I also would have preferred the music to be turned down a little as between that and food being made behind the desk, it was hard to hear the guy we were ordering from. This is a great little family owned business with light bites, refreshing smoothies, and friendly service and it's a perfect addition to Magna main. I and my family will most definitely be coming here more often and I suggest that everyone else do the same.

Colosimo's Standard Market - Colosimo's history!

Colosimo's Standard Market

I've lived in magna for going on 8 years now and have passed by Colosimo's many times…read more Each time I've briefly seen inside and thought it looked empty so I was never really interested in going ins However I'm having some people over today and wanted to get some sausages/hot dogs to make for dinner and for some reason colosimos came to mind. When I walked in, my initial impression wasn't really much different than what I originally thought, that it's kinda a half empty looking store. I found my way back to the freezers where the meat was and initially didn't think there were many options. But the guy working there (maybe the owner?) came by to give me the "grand tour". He showed me that the sausages are actually in these white boxes (pictured). I picked the garlic and mild Italian options. Which come out to about $15 for 6 sausages. Initially that felt expensive, but when you actually look at them, they are pretty big, so it's really not tooo much more than if you got something from Walmart. I told him it was my first time, and as I said that he went into the back, and came out with a package of breakfast sausages on the house. He then also gave my kid a quarter so he could get a toy from the machine up front. At the last minute, I noticed the buns they had and put it on the counter. He proceeded to give me the buns for half off for basically no reason. Never in my 31 years of life have I had an experience like this at any store. I felt the pride he had in their product and was totally taken off guard at his kindness. I have yet to actually try the food, but if they are even 1/4th as good as my experience in store, I'm sure they will be incredible. Can't wait to go back.

I have a special place in my heart for Colosimo's. My Italian neighbor, who is like a grandpa to…read moreme, taught me how to make homemade stuffed mushrooms, spaghetti sauce, meatballs, and frittata all from the meat and cheeses that come from Colosimo's. Funny enough my neighbor actually knows the business owner and it's always fun seeing them catch up. I review places with my OAT method: O= Overall experience - This run down, 100+ year old market is very nostalgic to me. Yes, it could be re-modeled and cleaned up. But the beauty about it is the wear and tear this place has. Located in Magna, there isn't much out there but this spot is a must for holiday meals or dinners. Plus, the owners always give great recommendations for new products to try and they will give me a sample to make sure I like it too! A= Appearance - The meat and cheeses are like non-other in Salt Lake City. T= Taste - My favorite go-tos, when available, are the maple breakfast links, hot Italian bulk/ skinless, Kasseri cheese, and pepperoni. I love juiciness of the meat and creaminess of the cheeses. Take my word for it and make a trip out to Magna!
