The staff was SUPER friendly! So kind and didn't mind us sitting in the corner for a few hours while we worked. The internet worked great! We had both breakfast and lunch here. For breakfast, she warned my fiancé that the pancakes were huge! For lunch we split a sandwich and they split it onto two plates for us, which was so nice of them. Sadly they close in the afternoon otherwise we'd have stayed even longer and kept working and purchasing. It is attached to the gas station shop and shares a bathroom, that's a little weird but the good food and kind people makes up for it. We had "sidewinders" which I'll include a picture of they're the potatoes that look kind of curly, they're delicious!

We want a refund!! I wish I had checked my to go order before driving off. Had I looked in the bag I would have asked for a $18 refund!!

Seriously, I'm not a fan of cinnamon rolls in general but these are in a class by themselves. Whenever I stop in town I have to pick up some to take back to Idaho Falls. My only complaint is that they don't usually make enough cinnamon rolls or their other amazing Raspberry twists. I hope you will eventually open up in Idaho Falls so it will be easier to get your amazing food!

We hadn't ever been to Hugos, so we drove along BF's Bridge Street looking ahead for it. We spotted its big cube-looking building on the corner, pretty easily. As we aren't familiar with ANYWHERE in Idaho other than our hometown (originally from out of state), parking is always a challenge--we swung into the first park lot on the side of a building--a block away. Though the weather had loosened its grip, the sun was still bright and beaming down heat--thank goodness a cool breeze made the walk pleasant. That walk was the last 'pleasant' we'd experience for a bit. As if it had forgotten to leave Hugos' alone, the inside was reminiscent of the heat wave--uncomfortably hot and humid. My other half and I gave each other a glance, filled with unspoken communication-- "We're taking it to go." I mean, we were both looking forward to crossing this place off of our 'We've not tried,' but the temp was unbearable to us-can't believe someone was working a kitchen in there. It was pretty bland inside, with a very minimal amount of seating, which seems intended to be a wait for your to-go-order area. The rest of Hugos appeared to be kitchen, ovens and a counter--expected I guess for a bakery. We hadn't even looked at the boards that were scattered around as the menu yet, before heading straight to the counter to inquire if there was a nearby park for us to eat at. Two women were working beyond the counter at an oven. Truly, one older but not elderly woman (younger than me, older than 35) was hustling, while the 20-something stood talking to her. We stood there for at least three minutes, while the younger woman glanced at us a few times. To be fair, she eventually picked up something and put it on a lower shelf, while greeting us in her tongue. I responded "Hi." She came over to the order counter speaking rapidly and practically sighing while doing so. I started to ask the question, "It's pretty hot in here, too hot for us, is--" but was cut off by her tossing her head to say something in the other woman's direction. The other woman, while quickly working, called out to me "tell me what you want, so I can tell her." I directed my question to the older lady, who was very nice. First, she apologetically informed me that their air conditioning was down, and they were starting the ovens "So it's only going to get hotter in here." She had a look of agreeance on her face like she also was not enjoying the heat. She asked me where we were parked (in order to give accurate directions due to one-way streets), before giving me directions to the nearest park. She was very nice, and seemed as if she genuinely appreciated the patronage. The younger girl, on the other hand, who I can only suppose is visiting an aunt?, during summer-break, maybe (she is high school or college age), had been impatient, and acted as if we were not welcome because she needed a translator. So, I genuinely and politely thanked the woman for the directions, before turning to my other half "What do you want to do," flat and definitively she responded "Leave." We won't be going back. 3* for the nice, hardworking lady.

Then the lady putting veggies on the sandwich was constantly looking behind me like she was waiting for someone to walk in. She was distracted and she did not listen to what I asked and messed up two foot longs. The steak and cheese was so salty it was completely inedible, I think she poured like half the shaker onto it and the other was for our autistic son and she put mustard on his portion of the sandwich when I was very clear (I even pointed to the exact side) which side to put it on and I tried to get her to fix it and she did a very poor job and now he refuses to eat it. We bought two foot long sandwiches that frankly went to the trash. I am honestly so disappointed, like this woman should not be working there if she won't even acknowledge or listen to the customers and she just makes the sandwich however the hell she wants. Ya'll owe us two foot-longs. Highly dissatisfied.

I was disappointed because I always get the same sandwich and they "had to" make it differently. Normally, I would get a turkey on flatbread with a load of veggies. When I tried to order this, I was asked if it was okay if the flatbread was toasted. I replied that no, I didn't want it toasted to which they usually just continue making the sandwich. Instead. I was told that they "had to" toast the flatbread. After inquiring with outside sources I found out that they toast the flatbread to make it fold more easily. If they were going to toast it why ask me if it was okay? Also, it really doesn't have to be toasted... it just makes it easier to fold (but I've gotten it a million times and it hasn't ever not folded enough). They also added way to much sauce and only one of the employees was at all friendly.

In hindsight I could have driven 30 minutes home and been as well off for free. I didn't know my business would apparently be so unvalued or I would have. I just ordered 2 el pastor tacos and the chips and salsa they brought to begin with. The female waitress gently tried to talk me into a lunch special with rice and beans but I'm on a tight budget. but I also needed to eat something before the drive home after a recent Sunday funeral for someone I didn't know well and didn't feel comfortable going to their family gathering, and this place wasn't far away and they had good reviews. But the service was sllloooowww. Mind you they were busy. But I also ordered ONLY 2 TACOS! Good service would expedite the 2 solitary tacos ahead of the group of 10 or however many. From when I sat down and got chips and salsa it took a long time to even take my order, and then it took a half hour from when I walked in and sat down and was given a menu to even get 2 TACOS. A HALF HOUR. I'm starving and patient in the moment, so I look up some things I need to look up on my phone. No checking back before or after. I still left a good tip based on percentage of order total but it's because I'm a good customer and have family who've waitressed. It certainly wasn't because she deserved it, because I also had to go up and ask for my bill. I couldn't help but think I was alone and "only" ordered 2 tacos (as a paying customer) so maybe she thought I'm not worth the effort, but not even 30-60 seconds worth? For a paying customer?! I ran out of water but she wouldn't have known, because she easily avoided or forgot me sitting at the one table for 2 by the door while she went to the people behind me at the larger table near the counter, or to the majority of the people on the other side of the divider in the main area of the restaurant. There are WAY too many options elsewhere, especially when I don't usually eat out, so I doubt I'll ever be back or recommend it, even for what was tasty food.
