(Take highway 20 from I 5 towards Clearlake). They had such a great selection of fruits and vegetables at a reasonable price! Plus different flavors of pistachios.They also sell honey and even pies! Love that they also have olive oil and sauces! They have cold drinks in the frig and ice cream too. It is well organized and VERY clean inside ( air conditioning as well). It is cutely decorated and I bought some really fresh veggies! The 2 young ladies at the cash register who very friendly and helpful! I will be back very soon to get some more delicious fruits and veggies! Awesome experience and worth a few miles out!

We always enjoy the stone fruits, different varieties of watermelon, corn, etc. However since it has transitioned to The Harvest Bend, the soul of the place isn't quite there any more. No longer are we greeted by familiar faces stocking peppers and tomatoes in the outside bins, rather those bins are generally empty and unwelcoming... the watermelons and corn that were always stocked in the entrance have been empty or sold out some days, as the volume of stock was seemingly not ready to out out (leaving gaps in availability that were not there before)... the prices seem to have gone up and additions of overpriced pies, popcorn, and soaps from outside the immediate area make it seem more like a new generation boutique rather than a reliable family farm stand. Most recently, at the farm stand we were buying about 10 pounds of stone fruit, assorted veggies, 24 ears of corn and 4 yellow watermelons. And as we have always done in the past, we simply informed the team member at the counter that we would also be grabbing four watermelons on our way out, as our hands were full with the rest of the produce. She informed us she couldn't ring them up until we brought them in because different sizes were different prices, despite their own signage saying they were one flat price ($7 per yellow watermelon) - almost as if we were going to steal them - because when we came back in (after holding up the line to quickly grab them), they were in fact all the same price after all (no difference based on size - just a flat price). I don't know, but this place has lost its soul, is overpriced, and is seemingly more focused on branding, buzz, and social reach/engagement rather than what matters to its patrons.

I went here because I knew they still had El Toro beer from Farmer's Brewing. It's seasonal and hard to find! Tastes similar to Guiness but better! I also bought a bottle of wine ( both for the BBQ). I was on my way to Sacramento and got a serious craving for a snack, so since I'd heard about the tamales in the Dixon area, I just had to pull over and grab a few. I tried the chile cheese one right there in the car, and it was pretty good! The cheese was definitely interesting, though--it didn't really melt, but it had a nice, solid bite to it. I'm guessing they use that kind so it doesn't get all messy, especially since they keep them nice and hot all day and have them all wrapped and labeled individually. They've got a bunch of handmade candies, and all the fruit and produce looks so fresh! You should definitely make a stop and check out the pickle section. They're out,…read moreand as bummed out as I was when the older man told me that last week, I sort of felt wickedly happy that I was lucky enough to have tried the the last of them while they still had some a week or two back. ^v^ Anyway, get your butt out of bed to pick up a flat of these sweet things while you can. Their summer days of operation do jump around, but lately they've been open on Thursdays & Sundays. You better get here early, or you'll be left without even a chance to pick up any (saw many people drive in, and leave empty handed since the flats that were left were pre-sold). Expect to pay $12 a regular flat (sometimes they'll let you buy them individually for $1 a piece towards the end), a little more for the bigger flat (can't remember how much) and $10 a bag of oranges when they do have them (yum!). They close up whenever they run out, which I'd say is close to about 11:30am/12pm. Good luck!

I remember buying fruits from there when the CUESA farmers market was at the back of the Hyatt Regency Hotel as it was named back then. You get the drift. Various family members and friends man their booth on Tuesdays and Saturdays at the Ferry Farmers Market in San Francisco with the owners present Saturdays. My preference used to be shopping on Tuesdays to avoid the crowds and hustle bustle tourists. Due to the dwindling selection Tuesdays and a lesser crowd due to the pandemic, Saturdays are not as bad as normal, not to say I like it this way. On the first Saturday in March, I noticed that a few customers buying some flowers and, with Chinese New Year just wrapping up and the Cherry blossom season about to start, I bought a bunch for my family. They turned out to be peach blossoms (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=wdzZ2zYvI1lC-nB5zGEyOQ&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q); my mom and her caregiver immediately recognized them and I, being the naiive one, felt like I just learned how to change a lightbulb. They are a nice addition to our living room with some of the Chinese New Year's plants withering away and my Costco tulip plant already blooming and long gone. With it being March, a tweener time fruits wise, they no longer have a stand on Tuesdays and likely will not be back until April when stone fruits begin to be harvested. Apricots, peaches, nectarines are the probably next to hit the market. And with the warmer weather, the increasing number of vaccinated people, and a general feeling of somewhat normalcy, things are beginning to look a little brighter now. Before you know it, it'll be cherry season. Can't wait!

I saw the word "Plums" on the sign and felt that I'd like to treat myself, so at the next corner, I turned around. I have significant dietary considerations, and plums fit right into my plan, for a few reasons. So I stopped and bought a bag of plums... $6. I tried to tip a buck (I only had $7 cash on me so "here... for the tip jar"). Nope! "Thank you, but put it in your tank". The two young ladies that helped me were delightful, and told me about their property and how it's been in the family since it was built in 1911. I love history! Such a beautiful property. But the plums!!! Oh man... so amazing, sweet and perfectly ripe. I was so lucky to just happen-by this gem on the last day of their plum-sales season. I can't wait to see what their next harvest is. I was inspired and created this for them (for you!) and expect to "happen-by" again fairly soon. THANK YOU for my most delicious and most healthy snack today!

After trying other CSAs in the area I came across Riverdog Farm from a newsletter sent out by my…read morefavorite pork butcher, Fatted Calf. $20 a week for organic produce, why not give it a shot. So I paid for a month in advance (you pay by check either by the month or the quarter) and waited for my first pick up. Fortunately there are a few options for picking up your box in Napa (check their website to see if there's one nearby you) including one only a mile away from our home. Yeah! The pickup location, at least in my area, is in someone's carport which is fairly typical of CSAs, thank goodness for volunteers. Just verify your pick up by signing the clipboard by your name, grab your box or unload it into your own bags (if you take the box return it in your next visit) then prepare to be wowed by the amazing produce. Each week is a little but different and changes along with the season. What's always in the box is the most beautiful organic produce I've ever seen. This weeks box had a bunch of gorgeous rainbow chard which was sautéed along with Fatted Calf sweet sausage served on top of Model bread with poached eggs. Best chard ever! I've posted a few pics of the last few boxes, judge for yourself, Riverdog Farm is amazing. It doesn't get any better than this. PS... They also raise organic fed hogs and chickens. Picked up my first pork share (delivered along with my regular box pick up) and the cuts look so tasty. Can not wait to braise the fresh hocks. I would like to return to…read moreYelp, starting now, writing thankful and positive reviews for establishments that have come through for all of us in a time of crisis. Let's start with Riverdog! I was pretty confident that I'd written about Riverdog in the past and was somewhat shocked to see that I praised only their eggs in my short initial review. Yes, the eggs are great, and everyone knows it. But I can make a long, long list of Riverdog products that consider to be top notch: green garlic, raw chickens, pork chops, carrots, daikons, asparagus tips, onions, black radishes, little gems when they're available, .... At the moment, their early girl and heirloom tomatoes are truly excellent. In recent weeks, I've gotten their squash and green beans -- excellent again, of course. Riverdog prices are not outrageous, in view of the high quality. Their wares merit a detour. The farmers (Trini and Tim) and their employees (shout out here for Becky) are all super-nice. Check them out!
