We spent a couple days in Oceanside and our four-year-old really wanted to take home a souvenir. We refused to buy him one at the CVS, only to bring him and his brother to this Breeza store a block away.
This was a large beach-themed souvenir/clothing store, the Oceanside outpost of a national chain. It had all the cheap shittiness of a boardwalk T-shirt shop with none of the charm, but it met our needs.
The place was big, with a lot of inventory. Most of that seemed to be clothing, but there were a bunch of souvenirs towards the front of the shop. We were looking for little mementos with "Oceanside" printed somewhere or another, and we had dozens, maybe hundreds of junky, trinkety options. Our kids browsed racks full of magnets and keychains and settled on a couple of colorful turtle magnets. The two-year-old threw his on the floor, chipping it before we even got it to the register. We bought both anyway, and they have since disappeared into our house.
There are probably better places to buy souvenirs in town, but Breeza sufficed for our purposes. If you want a generic Oceanside hoodie or keychain, you can certainly find that here. read more
