I stopped by for an inexpensive cooler to carry some seafood home. They had the perfect cooler for only $5. The clerk was helpful and friendly. I looked at the surf supplies and another clerk immediately asked if I needed assistance. The fishing gear is unbelievable. And kayaks, they carry everything. I could have spent all day in there. They rent surf boards, paddle boards, bikes and sell fishing licenses and can even set up fishing charters. They are locally owned. They offer free parking. I'll be back on my next visit to Surf City.

I am a novice and was asking some questions about what would work and what is running and what type of equipment would I need to begin a new hobby, on the bays, shore fishing and maybe someday kayak fishing. I have to admit, I did not actually come here for sports equipment, but to return some U-Haul supplies that I had left over from an out-of-state move. It was late, I was in a hurry, and it turned out that the location I had purchased them from had done something very wrong when selling me the supplies. Elsi was a champ; she took down my information and promised me she would contact me after the weekend to issue the refund. I had to trust her; I had a flight to catch. She called Monday morning and settled the issue, even though it required escalation and follow-up with her superiors. It is very rare for me to see such integrity and dedication today, much less from someone who had virtually nothing to gain from doing it. Even though I didn't purchase any merchandise from their fully-stocked, exquisitely organised store, I can vouch for the character and ethic of the staff. I'd thought I'd beat the storm, but it was already pushing waves over the docks. They let me postpone my excursion for a few days until the weather improved, then helped me out again. Both Mike and Lani know surfing, it's in their blood. They are well connected to the community and are just great people. Great selection and their store has most anything you'd need to kayak or surf. I enjoyed looking around in their shop. It's actually cheaper for me to rent from the Hot Wax Surf Shop than to haul my own kayak to the island. I can't think of a better place to go for rentals, accessories, and good solid advice.

They ran the receipt and put my 87.00 back to that card after I had told them We no longer have it. I asked the manager would not void their mistake and did not give my gift card. I asked them to call corporate for help they would not and said I could not take my merchandise back with me!!! I was so upset when leaving that store.
