Wonderful farmer's market with nice assortment of apples with samples. Many other fresh, high quality fruits, vegetables, cider and fruit drinks. Nice little greenhouse as well.

Splendid time picking berries, apples, & veggies. Pulled little red wagon all over orchard collecting bounty. Berries were a challenge- picked out & what remained not ripe, but still got a decent haul. Recommend sleeves & pants to avoid thorny scratches as best ones in hard to reach places. Plenty of apples & varieties. Picked large red & green including a few small of varieties we weren't familiar with. Basket of hot & bell peppers, but be careful of price trap. All veggies priced same per/# regardless of what it is. Get bunch of hot peppers- pretty reasonable, throw in hefty zucchini & suddenly produce basket is $60. I justified this over spend by including act of being there & participating was free. No admission or parking fees & literally made a day of it. That said, this works out to be much better deal for families w/ children who can soak up free play areas/activities. Things get expensive fast- wagon tally $130 for 2 pumpkins, box of berries, 1/2 basket of assorted peppers, 2 large zucchini/eggplant. Hot, fresh, cider doughnuts worth standing in line for- & appreciate transparency about ingredients. Some fun specialty items in farm shop including local made granola. While it wasn't a cheap day out, thoroughly enjoyed myself & left with some great stuff. Can't wait to return.

This place is super friendly! Hand pick many fruits, vegetables, and fresh flowers. We enjoyed visiting the farm market! Friendly staff and always follow up to make sure we are okay. Enjoyed my time here!

I really love to visit this out of the way spot throughout the year to enjoy their selection of fresh fruit and vegetables, but my favorite time is the fall. The Apple selection is always amazing. Pick your own or get a bushel that has been picked for you. The Apple related products are also delicious. Try the cider doughnuts and the fresh squeezed apple cider. The Apple butter and apple butter bbq sauce are also popular. They always have samples of a number of products for you to try. If you want you can walk through their flower garden and pick your own arrangement. The people are friendly and the surroundings are beautiful. If you are in the Adamstown area antiquing make sure to stop in.

WOW! I can't believe with how much I love orchards that I haven't been here. I've always heard wonderful things about this place. My family and I decided to go on a Friday evening to add to our list of new places this year. It's tucked away in the countryside. There's plenty of parking and it's close to everything! There's a market that is open year round I believe, which has its own parking area. There's so many goodies inside. They have fresh fruit, baked goods, jellies, sauces, etc. So far we are loving their produce and apple cider! We can't wait to try the sauces and dressings we got. I found that everything was fairly priced. The young girl was so kind as we were checking out. It cost $36 for four people to ride the hayride, which I found to be a good deal considering there's plenty of free yard games to play, which kept my husband, myself and our two boys occupied. They have a corn maze for kids inside the barn, a craft area, a playground area, and a rope maze. The hayride was super fun and informational, which lasted about 25 min. The staff was out of this world friendly and they all had smiles on their faces. I found prices to be fair. What I loved most was that it was family owned and not over commercialized. It wasn't busy and overcrowded which gave it a great feel. Highly recommend!

Since my first review last year Andrea and I have spoke several more times concerning the injury I received at the orchard's candy drop event. Ultimately it was resolved to my satisfaction, however I waited to update my review pending a second visit to this business. The opportunity to visit again came this weekend while camping nearby. Once again they were having their fall festival, only this year the candy drop was eliminated. Without the crowd for the candy drop the experience was much more relaxed and we were finally able to experience everything they offered without long lines. First stop the retail store - AMAZING! Our last visit first the crowd, then my injury prevented me from really checking it out. This time we spent some time exploring the fresh produce (including some I've never seen before like cherries in a natural wrapper, tiny kiwi, and purple cauliflower), as well as the freshly baked goods and other treats from their farm. We sampled their delicious apple cider and honey and my granddaughter was amazed by the bee hive on display. Everything that ended up coming home with us that we sampled so far was fresh and delicious. The displays were clean and it felt current yet still had a farmers market feel. We'll definitely be making regular stops while camping for their apple bread! I highly recommend it grilled and smothered in butter. Your welcome. Secondly we took a wagon ride around the orchard. Just thinking it was going to be a pleasant, relaxing hay ride I was in awe of what we learned along the way from Farmer Earl. Especially misconceptions I had about how much science and time goes into growing produce. I was happy to learn about the Martin family's proactive natural approach to pests with minimal or no pesticide being used on their crops as well as the many varieties of apples in existence. We also played on the playground, took our turn at some of the games in the open field, went thru the hay maze, and did a few of the fall craft stations. Additionally we all had fun making our own caramel apples complete with our choose of toppings. My granddaughter especially liked watching and taking a turn at making homemade applesauce. When we weren't looking she went back for a few more samples. While some of these activities were because of the fall festival, they do offer year round in season produce including pumpkins, and offer for you to pick your own, as well as fresh flowers, and of course all the wonderful prepared products in their retail store. So while my first experience was not the best I believe it was an isolated incident and after our second will surely make a visit to the orchard a tradition whenever we camp in the area.

If you're interested in doing anything PYO especially in the Lancaster County area and were waiting for a good time of year to go, in the words of the prophet Kenny Loggins: "This Is It". While certain things are done for the year like Cherries, Strawberries and to a degree Raspberries, right now you can PYO everything from corn to cucumbers to flowers to apples to peaches. While I am a huge PYO advocate, I'm not saying that all of the items that Brecknock are priced fantastic but this year's crop of peaches in particular are amazing. Our most recent visit had us out this past Saturday about an hour after opening and while the farm market already had a decent crowd the PYO fields were near deserted. The experience every year is always great. If it weren't for the Turnpike being somewhat nearby it would be total quiet and peacefulness all while picking our forty plus pounds. We also opted to pick a few, and I mean a few, Blackberries but by now most of the vines are picked clean and at five bucks a pound it's a bit steep for my wallet. No matter what you chose to do here it's worth a trip as the family that owns the place is amazingly friendly and the quality of the produce is usually first rate year in and year out. While there are other PYO places in the area/region, Brecknock is where you should be going as it combines everything you could want from farm fresh produce all in one stop. If you go: The below lists all the necessary info about their PYO schedule and pricing. www.brecknockorchard.com/harvest-schedule www.brecknockorchard.com/pick-your-own While you certainly don't have to come here just for PYO, brave your way out to the frontier (insert note about being overly dramatic since this walk is quite short) that are the PYO fields to pick your own goodness versus staying at the farm market and paying 25+ percent or more for the exact same stuff.

We arrived w/ no clear sense of where to go or begin. There were tented areas, but then little shacks w/ awnings, pockets of people standing in a field, others across the street. Do I pay for this outside? Do I go inside? Are there tickets? The market (which had really nice things) was impossible to shop. Some things were outside, other things inside, w/ a line of people waiting to pay starting at the tented outside register area, backed up, weaving all the way thru the market isles to the front door. You had to squeeze between the line of people waiting to pay & the shelves of food to shop, making it hard to look at anything, much less grab anything. I know this sounds like a good problem to have, but not when chaos is driving the experience more than demand. Exhausted from wondering the outside trying to figure out what all there was to do & where to go, then braving the market, I decided to skip apple picking which was the main reason I was there! That process appeared even less clear, so no regrets. I do love the things purchased at the market, including apple cider donuts, frozen pastas, & Reading Soda Works bottles- just think I'll return to shop on a day when nothing is going on.

Upon walking in, we were stopped to pay $15 per person even though we just wanted to walk around. Our first impression was that the activities were just for kids. We paid the $15 each and figured we should make the most out of everything. We did the corn maze which was a cool experience- it's pretty big and impressive. We literally chucked corn into tires from sling shots. We got into huge tires and rolled around. We had to pay an ADDITIONAL $25 to pick sunflowers. Did we have a good time? Sure, but did we have to really squeeze the fun out of everything as adults? Yes. We then had to pay MORE for food. Apple cider wasn't fresh, it was prepackaged. The apple cider donuts were cold. We did have funnel cake fritters which were so good, a must try, but wish they gave more in a serving. I was hoping they'd have pumpkin picking or apple picking. This spot is definitely good for kids as they have goat feeding, space to run around, basketball hoops and mini train rides.

I didn't pay as much as Cara - cost for corn maze & pumpkin patch was around $14. I went, solo and was excited to pick pumpkins and venture on my own, in the corn maze. The pumpkin patch wasn't what I was expecting. Yes, there were pumpkins and yes, they were in a patch of grassy land, freshly plucked, gathered in a small area. Not attached to a field (as I was imagining), but in a smallish section of their farm. I did complain and received monies back, for this misinterpretation of a pumpkin patch. I suggested that they advertise differently. The corn maze was kinda fun. I'm not really good with directions and I felt their tiny corn maze directions map, was difficult to understand. I didn't know how to decipher this map and what paths to take, another disappointment. Lastly, the burger I ordered from the food truck, disgusting and undercooked.

I figured this must have been the case, because when I arrived, there were no more leg/thigh combos, grilled sliced potatoes - sold out, except for one, which we snagged (the last potato) and grilled carrots - gone.
