Put off finding a new dentist in New York and waited until back in London to visit NW1 and…read moreAnima....she's that good... Blimey, what haven't I had done here....root canals, straightening of my lower teeth (due to a size 9 football boot in the cake hole when I should have long hung up my boots) Her manner is so warm and friendly, that even being a non natural in the dentists chair (who is..) she puts you at ease and explains everything simply and thoroughly. I've always fully understood the treatment, why and what costs are involved (and it's always competitive) When you find a great dentist...you tend to stick to them like glue...I live 3000 miles away and still visit every time I'm in town...highly recommended.

I've been going to Nw1 since 2020 for some specialist dental care. They came recommended to me as…read moremy original dentist could not complete the work they started. I was worried and sceptical about another dentist which I did not know completing my work. But my worries we're soon dispelled. I find the staff to be very professional, courteous and could not do enough to make sure that you are comfortable. Dr Bodane has a very cheerful manner and knows why she's doing. She takes the time to explain each procedure to You. Also, every effort was made to make sure that we were safe from Covid. Hand sanitiser, and somewhere separate to keep your bag and coat before entering the treatment area. I would definitely recommend Nw1 dental care

I moved to Holloway about 18 months ago and only just thought I should really get a dentist when…read moreI'd been in mild pain for a couple of weeks. I had a little look on Yelp and this one was just round the corner...sweet! The booking process was fairly fast, I could email them and the receptionist was pleasant. They even offered NHS work... sweeter! Now for the bitter bits (and ironically better for my teeth bits). Although the exam was thorough and they didn't charge for xrays the first impression was pretty bad with the video to 'Baby Got Back' directly infront of me on an LCD as I sat back. After being told to brush twice a day and floss I was told I needed five (!) fillings. After this the dentist offered NHS or white fillings for £150 each, essentially upselling the more expensive ones. He also was unable to do anything about my growing pain that was starting to need daily medication. The week after, the day before the next appointment I was told he was sick, that I could only see him again (in a week!) and that he only worked part time.....hmmm. After hurried recommendations from friends I tried a new dentist who offered an appointment within 48 hours, fixed the pain on the day and only said I needed 3 fillings and charged me a third (using a perfectly good NHS procedure). A much more professional, simpler service and one this practice could learn from. I wont name the other practice here but they are in my profile and where I'll be going from now on.

I actually quite like visiting the dentist normally. I've never needed a filling before, and I've…read morealways had speedy, non-stressful dentist appointments. However I HATE searching for a new dentist when I move. There are so many chances that they'll try to scam you, so I'm always a little worried about the first visit. This dentist has lots of good points: - It was really easy to get an appointment (I could e-mail, so I didn't have to spend ages on the phone) - Signing up was really quick and non-stressful - The reception staff were friendly - They didn't make me wait for my appointment - The whole place was clean and they seemed to have good, up-to-date equipment - They have a TV with music videos playing set up on the celling, so you can watch that and be distracted while the dentist peers into your mouth. It's a nice touch. - The dentist was polite, talked me through everything and gave good advice. I didn't need anything done, so even with an x-ray and a bit of cleaning...I was finished within 15 minutes. The only thing I didn't like...the Dentist told me I had weak gums, and then scrubbed around them vigorously to make them bleed(!) so he could show me they are weak. I would have believed him without the demonstration...so no thanks for that!! I imagine that wouldn't help matters if I was scared of visiting dentists!!

I signed up with this dental surgery about a year ago after (shamefully) not visiting a dentist for…read moreabout three years. I have never been afraid of the dentist from a pain point of view - but I was scared what it might do to my wallet. Cost-wise, though, this place is pretty good. They didn't have any NHS places left, but they explained to me that the difference in cost was negligible (£20 for a check-up as opposed to £15 on the NHS) I wasn't kept waiting long, the receptionist was very friendly and they had a water cooler in the waiting room. My dentist was efficient and explained all my options to me clearly and, most importantly, in a non-pushy way. I wasn't made to feel like I had no choice but to part with all my cash, but rather that I had a choice in the matter and I could do as I pleased. She played the role of a wise adviser which I appreciated. My hygienist was lovely too - again, not too badly-priced and very talkative and amicable. Naturally, going to the hygienist is quite painful, but she explained everything she was doing and how I could avoid the pain in the future. She did make me feel guilty for not flossing often enough, but she sounded so genuinely concerned about the well-being of my gums I have flossed religiously ever since.

You must avoid this dentist. On my first visit I was told I needed a filling - fair enough. But the…read morefilling was incredibly deep and large, and the tooth was still sore for a week, and my bite had changed radically. A week after that I was in real pain I had to have root canal surgery whilst abroad in Australia. That dentist suggested the initial filling had been unnecessarily deep and badly done. The implication being that the initial filling/dentistry is what killed the tooth. Subsequent to this I have found two other locals in Tufnell Park who have needed root canal surgery within two weeks of being given deep filings at this dentist. All three of us have decided to complain to the ombudsman. Avoid.
