Really really poor service! This dentist prioritizes their own commercial gain over patient care
- I had an initial consolation with one dentist about a tooth that has a sizable chuck (I think it's a lower left 6?) whereby she said that I needed an crown (as the tooth was still alive) at a price of £750 (ish)
- I paid for this consolation and booked in a follow up appointment to begin the treatment. Due to availability I booked this with a different dentist
- I took a day off work especially, and came back for my appointment a few weeks later with the understanding that I would be receiving the first stage of the crown treatment
- The other dentist then had a look at the tooth, and said that in fact the tooth was dead and that I would therefore need to get a root canal first, and then a crown, which would be a total of £1,500 (ish).
- This inconsistency is extremely frustrating - I don't see why two visits to the same practice should give me COMPLETELY different outcomes (one at twice the cost of another!)
I've since had an On-lay at a different dentist in Clapham. My new dentist has confirmed that the tooth is very much alive and has therefore managed to preserve my tooth (for far cheaper). read more
