Auuuuuhhhhhh relax.... this hidden gem.... perfect! I really enjoyed myself here. The place is nice clean and dainty. The staff here was auhhhmazing!! Top notch customer service!! Very very hygienically aware!! ESPECIALLY for what I went for.... (dun dun dun dunnnnnn) the V Steam!! Yeah baby. It was hot... pun intended. Lol. What I really enjoyed was the fresh organic herbs used. No smells but that smell would be smelled...ya smell me, get my drift? Second the Owner knew her stuff! Explained every questioned I had thoroughly! We wondered about the sweat like is it going back into the fresh herbs to be recycled?? Gross I know right. But the way her seats are set up the herbs and a "catch pot" are on two separate locations. There are different levels of steam and infer red light settings. I tried to be Ms. Billy Bad Girl and go in at a seven which was fine for a while until.... huntay I had to turn it down from that to a five to a three. Momma. Was. Lit. Literally. Lol. I just love that you sweat all these toxins out of your body. My skin felt real soft. Also this Spa has nice jewelry and merchandise to purchase. There's also a mani and pedi section. A section for facials and massages. The whole place was just clean and adorable. Especially the pedi area. Very unique. I will say the owner maximized her spa and turn this into a full on spa! The only thing I didn't like which is totally out on this spas Control is where the restroom is located. All the adjacent business have to share this restroom which is outside. I think that's the way this property was set up since the building was built. The owner of that bathroom need to upgrade it stat!! Other than that there are no complaints. This establishment is perfect. Oh did I mention they're 100% certified Green by the City of Oakland??? Yasssss

This establishment is the BOMB!!! OMG I experienced my very first V-Steam with my daughters and a best friend and it was awesome! The atmosphere was perfect, the air smelt absolutely wonderful, and the overall "V-Steam" was one of the most rewarding experience of all!!!! I wanted to do this as a 'Special Birthday treat " and hon-Ey! It was just that!!!! Can't wait to go back, think I need to make this a monthly treat for myself! So worth it! Thank you Cayla!!!!!

Yep, at Polish this is the quality you can expect: messy, uneven color and nail polish on your skin.

I made an appointment for a pedicure. Arrived on time, but was kept waiting about 10 minutes before the nail technician was ready for me. Had the lobby been a nicer environment the wait would have been more tolerable. However it only offers hard wood benches and cluttered shelves overstuffed with junky displays of too many products--costume jewelry, Havaianas flip flops, makeup, skincare and some random dusty glass vases. The pedicure experience was just okay. The nail tech was friendly and gave me a very thorough lower leg and foot massage. However the application of the polish was absolutely subpar. She applied the polish messily and even though she tried to remove the polish from my skin, in the end I still walked out with nail polish on my cuticles. During the pedicure I was instructed by several signs to be "Quiet" in the "nail pampering area." Whatever relaxing environment this signage was supposed to create was disturbed by being treated to the funky smell of a staff member eating her lunch in the front of the shop. Even though this supposed "spa" is not really all that spa-like, I could overlook the clutter if the service was stellar. But it wasn't. Front desk staff were merely perfunctory, not all that warm. And the pedicure looks bad enough that I don't want to leave the polish on; will probably go to another shop to have another pedicure tomorrow. Won't be going back to Polish.

I had a Living Social voucher which was expiring so I made an appointment and went in today to get a green tea pedicure. I went right in and they ask you if you want cucumber lemon water or green tea. I chose the cucumber lemon water which was refreshing as it was a warm day. Mai was my nail technician and she was friendly. The salon has been open for 13 years and she has been there for 6 years but this was my first time there. I hardly ever get myself a pedicure so this was a real treat for my feet, being that I dance at least 4-5 times a week! It was a great way to be pampered, someone washing your feet, scrubbing and massaging, as well as trimming your nails and cuticles. And they have a large selection of nail polish and I chose Zoya which safer for your nails and you. I came out feeling relaxed and renewed

I loved my First V-steam experience. The steam pressure was perfect and the chair had temperature options. Cayla(owner) was super nice and accommodating and very informative of the V-Steam process and benefits. Overall, my favorite part of the whole experience was that I had the option of being in the room with my friend so, the experience turned into a true girls day! I will definitely be back in one month.

I booked the 9am and got there about 8:25, which gave me time to get oriented/tour facility and do a soak to prep. The reviews were accurate. I glad I was solo, made it easier being comfortable being nude. Lots of amenities to glam up before leaving. It was calm and quiet when I arrived, and got busier as I was leaving. Staff was great, and made me feel comfortable and welcomed. They explained everything and answered questions with a smile. The place was super clean and staff actively removed used towels/swept throughout my stay. A good scrub, felt like a symboloc ritual for shedding the old for the new. I now have baby soft skin!

After the body scrub they wrap your body in a foil while they shampoo your hair and apply a face mask. The spa is small but has the essentials: sauna room, steam room, cold plunge, and jacuzzi. Upstairs there's a clay ball room and the salt room. My absolute favorite was the clay ball room. I was so relaxed after my 90 mins treatment when I went into the clay room I almost fell asleep. I will definitely come back. Only thing is it is in japantown so parking can be hard. But it was very convenient to go across into Japan Center for lunch afterwards

Nobody asked for a Kabuki vs OnsenSF comparison, but here…read moreyou go. 1. $$$ Price Kabuki is $49/pp 2.5 hrs OnsenSF in the tenderloin is $50/pp 2 hours 2. Environment & Ambience: Kabuki has a much wider space, calming music, great ambience, wonderful smells and decor. OnsenSF is a dining space when you enter and spa in the back. Everything looks modern and nice, relaxing environment despite being located in the tenderloin. 3. Hot Tub: Kabuki has a rectangle shaped hot tub as opposed to OnsenSF's square shaped tub. 4. Cold plunge: Kabuki has a cold plunge that's perfect for people who don't need it to be extremely freezing. OnsenSF has a cold shower with many heads in place of a cold plunge. Both are enjoyable experiences 5. Steam Room: Kabuki's steam room is also rectangular as opposed to OnsenSF's square room. Kabuki's steam room also has a shower to rinse off excess salt and sweat before entering the common area. 6. Showers: At Kabuki, there's also a line of stools for the seated handheld showers where you can fill a tub of water and pour it over yourself in addition to the traditional shower stalls, where OnsenSF only has the traditional showers if I recall correctly. 7. Sauna: The sauna was great because you could adjust the heat by moving up the wooden bleachers. There was also plenty of space to stretch out and lie down. There were wooden half-cylinder blocks to place under the neck and back to promote blood flow. My partner's favorite standout was the salt scrub they have that's free to take at the refreshments table. You use it to scrub away dead skin in the shower and steam room. My favorite was the bowl of towels buried in ice cubes that helped me keep a cool head in the hot tub and sauna room. I will say that the thing that makes OnsenSF stand out is their dining pop-ups, but there's plenty of dining options on Fillmore and in Japantown. I would definitely go back to Kabuki again. The experience was incredibly relaxing. Highly recommend.

Possibly the best bathhouse in the Bay Area…read more Kabuki Springs is tucked away off a busy street in Japantown and feels like a portal to another dimension, one full of warm water, a quiet atmosphere, and plenty of lemon ginger tea. I was instantly drawn to how intentional everything feels here, from the dark wood of the sauna to the sleek tile in the showers. It feels carefully crafted to be both modern and timeless, with the Japanese motif flowing through all of the design. Personally, I love the dim lighting in the baths; with no windows, it feels like time is suspended. Is it midday, or midnight? Sunny, stormy? Early, late? You can't really tell when you're there, and that feels like the point. It's an escape in its truest, most relaxing sense. Attendants are constant in the baths, which makes it feel far more luxurious than what the price would suggest. Cucumber, lemon, or plain water are all on tap, as are iced hand towels, salt scrubs for the steam room, and hot lemon ginger tea. I loved how cups are encouraged to be reused (I hate seeing the giant pile of single-use cups in the trash at other spas). I'm holding out hope, however, that traditional green tea may make an appearance in the future! I'd recommend attending on one of the single-gender days, as I found that lent itself best to the fully immersive experience. Shower sandals are available, though I found them a bit uncomfortable. Next time I'll be sure to bring my own. As a bathhouse enthusiast, I cannot recommend this place enough. I can't wait to bring my friends here to learn for themselves just how relaxing and rejuvenating the sauna, steam, soak, and plunge rotation can be.
