Tattoo 42 So I have been to this shop three times now…read more They're one of the few shops around that still does walk ins. Each time the artist was different, my fucking mistake! My first tattoo was done by a bald man whose name I forgot due to it being two years ago. I loved him! He did exactly what I asked. Went again, this time I had Rich. My fucking god did that tattoo hurt and my god did it end up lower than we planned. We spent so long placing the stencil that he said if we took any longer I'd have to come back the next day to actually tattoo, which would mean more stencil time I'd think? Anyways we ended up on the final location. It's an inch lower than I wanted it to be and I didn't want to ask him to move it up because it had already taken so long to get to where it was. It's supposed to be a tramp stamp and yet I can literally never see it due to how low he put it. But I trusted him and his tattoo knowledge on placement and what have you. My mistake!! Third time I went for a small tattoo on my face. Wanted just the outline. I had verified with my artist, John, that he was doing just the outline and not filling it in, I wanted to see just the outline first and go from there. He said he was just doing the outline. I trusted him. About 5 minutes go by, he says he finished and to take a look. The tattoo is FILLED IN. That is not what I wanted. That is not what I asked for. I am severely disappointed. I had begun looking at how to get it removed/fixed before he had finished cleaning up his station. I have been told that I should not have had to pay for this tattoo not being what I wanted. I will say John did say that the details may not be so sharp due to how small the design was, I understand this. But this does not mean that he can fill it in without telling the client especially after having had prior conversation about viewing the tattoo after the outline was complete. He also must've shaved a small layer of skin off or something because my skin where he shaved and aggressively wiped, hurts more than the tattoo. I will now be going through the route to remove this tattoo and get it done by someone who will actually listen to their clients. To anyone who still wishes to visit this shop and get tattooed here, I HIGHLY recommend bringing someone with you so they can be your extra set of eyes to make sure you actually get what YOU want. Also maybe go to the bald guy in the open space between the two front rooms on the left. He is the only one who did what I asked and did not screw me over with a tattoo that I regretted immediately after leaving the chair. She is in a Salon Suite like Sola Salons and others. Super cute and cozy suite. My ONLY suggestion for new clients - bring a blanket or something warm because it's COLD in there. It is very inviting, and doesn't look like what most people believe a "Tattoo Studio" is. Very clean and modern and comfortable. We chose our stencil size, location and got to it. It was SO fast and easy but the CRAZY part to me was the complete LACK of pain. I mean I have a LOT of tattoos and y'all this had a 0 on the scale of 0-10. When she did my second, the rose, I almost fell asleep lol and I can tell you I have definitely b****** out with tattoos before and had to take breaks because of pain but 0 pain. My best friend apparently has a very different pain tolerance because she was definitely saying it hurt. That absolutely shocked me and Rachel. So she did her initial pass and put Lidocaine on it for her, which she said was much better. Rachel was all about making us comfortable and making sure we loved it. Another tip for anyone scared of tattoos, her gun is a wireless one and it's SO quiet. Not a bunch of noisy vibration that amps up your fear. I came in for a coverup, and was not told that it would take two sessions with a minimum of $500 for each visit. The first visit was unnecessary, he had no idea how he was going to perform my coverup. He blasted the coverup area with grey that didn't hold very well. The second visit, he completely changed the plans for the cover up to something I didn't like so I had to wait until we figured something out when he initially said he was super confident to perform the coverup as planned. There are also grey areas he was too stoned to remember to cover up. Also during the first visit, it looks like he just rolled out of bed and came to work, messy hair in a ponytail he clearly slept in, also in his pajamas... During the second visit, I brought an 18yr old family member. Dustin proceeded to smoke weed/dabs twice in front of us. He then made comments about a trans person throughout the entire session, and not in a positive way. I'm hard to shake and this guy gave off weird vibes. Not creepy, just... weird... Could not wait to get out of there. And I am not 100% please with the coverup but no way am I going back. I feel ripped off.
